another great lexington staple. the main thing i have learned since working in lexington is that there is no such thing as bad barbecue in davidson county. for around $10 i was able to get a large plate ofchoppedpork, slaw, fries, fried okra, hushpuppies and a drink. the food is affordable, the restaurant is cleaned, the barbecue is pit cooked and the staff is friendly.

i had this one last stop before i had to leave north carolina.
thechoppedpork tray was very good. the pork had hardly no fat, was very moist and just the right amount of "dip". i call dip bbq sauce but when in lexington...
the bbq chicken my friend had was the moistest bbq chicken beast i have ever tasted (or sampled as i scammed a piece from his plate)
the service staff was way above the normal - i am not sure i have ever been so attentively waited on.
there were yummy ice cream shakes for desert that was a perfect end to the experience.

decided to stop here on the way back to charlotte from chapel hill for some lexington style bbq. i ordered a smallchoppedbbq tray which came with red slaw and hush puppies. thechoppedpork was tender and had decent flavor, but was nothing outstanding. the red slaw was pretty average and the hush puppies were as well. overall the food was pretty good but no better than many other barbecue joints i've tried.

tried the coursechoppedand half chicken combo with sweet potato fries and potato salad. there was no bark on the pork at all, but it was very tender yet not overcooked and the "dip" paired nicely with it, the chicken was a mealy mess, about an hour overcooked...yuk...but the sides, hush puppies and tea were very good.

amazing!. the bbq center is a small place with a lot character. i had thechoppedbarbecue plate with red coleslaw, french fries, and hush puppies. all i can say is that bbq center is incredible, and the service and atmosphere are authentic.
for dessert, we shared the enormous family-sized banana split. i looked around and nearly every family had some sort of dessert.
it seems like bbq-c is the place to be, as it was busy with a steady flow of customers. it was an enjoyable experience for my entire family.
