bambini trust wine room

i went to this restaurant by a
friend 's recommendation. this one is of high class, bambini bar and bambini restaurant . the waiter was helpful . i ordered a main fish which was chef ' s selection ,not on the menu. the food was presented so beautifully . love it~~

delicious traditional cuisine. professional and friendly yet conservative wait staff. great wine list with solid local and international options. a great little sydney institution.

as a melburnian, bambini is the "european" of sydney. the alaskan crab salad with a drop of sauvignon blanc was  superb!  a true delight and makes one feel at home!

visited bambini last week for a romantic dinner with my wife. arrived on time and seat quickly. service level early was excellent. entree of zucchini flower was not to my taste. we waited over an hour for mains, when maître de advised that our order had been lost in the kitchen and apologised. we were getting ready to leave.

when it did arrive it was wonderful. i had the market fish of flounder. prepared untraditionally and tasted beautiful.
my wife had the pumpkin ravioli. although tasty she was disappointed wit three pieces of ravioli.

bambini made up for the delay by again apologising and providing us with some chocolate truffles and canadian ice wine. this was the highlight.

i must say that they did make a mistake, owned up to it, apologised and made good with a desert.
we did appreciate this and would revisit again.

beautiful ambience. the service is impeccable, the wine list is wonderful as are the food and the rest of the alcoholic wonders on offer. wish they'd do something about the coffee - it's awful.

the people working here gave me the impression that they enjoy what they are doing and care how service you - it was a really pleasant & friendly experience, even during cbd peak lunch hour. everyone smiled. they enjoy it so much they forgot to ask me to pay, but i could never leave without doing that. food is relevant, tasty and coffee good. prices very good, so if you want to feel like a customer again instead of a coffee cup statistic, drop in.

service and atmosphere are fantastic. it is ideally located away from the craziness a block away.

beautiful. my partner and i ate ate the wine bar since the restaurant was booked out but that didn't affect the dining experience. the atmosphere was classy and the staff were friendly and helpful, as they naturally would.

the actual food was very delicious overall. only one negative i would point out was the pork belly which i had with some vegetables. the pork itself was cooked very well but the ratio of fat to meat was off to the fat side. the skin was cooked to perfection though.

recommended restaurant!

we had a nice meal here a few weeks ago.. good service but very pricey.. there are better places in the cbd!

a regular visitor to this beautiful restaurant, i can never go past the steak frittes. service as always was exceptional. i would definitely recommend this restuarant to anyone. enjoy :)

hit and miss.. to be fair this review is of a business lunch from nov 1st 2013. i had written it but not posted it.

the steak frittes was cooked well, however had quite a bit of sinew throughout the steak.
the beef cheek pasta entree was very good.
there was a chip in one of the guests wine glass.
the pinot noir on the menu was a different year to the one served.
the light above our table continued to go on and off, this appeared to be attended to as it stopped after someone bought it to the attention of the staff.
the semifreddo had quite a bit of ice crystals throughout.
the desserts appeared to take a quite some time to be served even though we appeared to be the last remaining table in the restaurant by the time we ordered.
should a table order sparkling water i would think it to be custom to ask if they would like to order more, as apposed to automatically continuously replenishing the order and adding the items to the bill.
one final annoyance that i would not expect at a restaurant at this level is a guests dish being served to them by leaning over and in front of another guest (across the table).

went there with a couple of friends, impeccable service, we never had to ask to have our glasses filled and they checked to make sure that the food was up to taste.

the food matched the price well, i had the veal and it was delicious! i would definitely go there again

note: the place suits small groups of around 4-5 and under, and the ambiance was quietish so it wouldn't suit a loud get-together.

lovely european ambiance in the middle of the cbd. absolutely lovely experience. very bustling around 7-8 on weekday nights. a bit on the loud side, not great for deep one on one conversations.

excellent starters menu: pate and roasted scallops: they were served on a two tiered plate stand. pate was savory, rich and smooth. scallops melted in my mouth.

wine list extensive, a bit pricy though.

porcetta a bit on the salty side but juicy. the john dorry was a bit too small for even a petite female. string beans were just standard, nothing out of the ordinary. parfait was lovely: fresh creme with pear jelly cubes on the side.

what was outstanding was the service!. waiters were very patient and attentive, (and attractive). when it got too loud inside, the waiter ushered us to a table outside facing hyde park. when it got a bit too breezy outside, the waiter even brought out his own sweater that he had bought that morning!

the bambini trust cafe and restaurant is situated directly opposite to hyde park on elizabeth street, and always overflowing with important-looking businessmen and women throughout the day, and i expect in the evenings too when it transforms into a restaurant and wine
