back to cuba cafe

id recommend it.. ive been to back tocubatwice and the food is fine. but my girlfriend and her family are from panel del rio and like you hear it, ain't like momma fixed it.

the back tocubacafe may not be much to look at from the outside, but you should not judge this book by its cover. i ordered the cuban sandwich. it was delicious!

this saturday night it was my turn to plan a date for the boy. i wanted something exotic, in my price range, and something that he has never had before. we crossed the river and went to back tocuba! i am far from an expert on cuban food. i know i love rice, beans and plantains.  when those goodies are the sides on any dish, i'm pretty much guaranteed to like it. when i lived up north, i had cuban food pretty often, my favorite being  habana outpost in brooklyn (mostly for how cool their outdoor seating is). i didn't even know there was any cuban in nashville until friends took me to back tocubaa few years ago. we have one cuban place in nashville to my knowledge, and thank goodness its pretty tasty. steve anticipates cuban goodness back tocubais a cafe and not a restaurant.  it is very small, with just a hand full of tables.  nothing is fancy, don't expect tablecloths and linen napkins.

best cuban food. i recently got indulge at this little coffe shop with a great authentic cuban taste on the food, price is fair for what it is, a tasty and generous portions, cuban sandwich and medias noches are amazing, friut milkshakes are awesome as well. empanadas on special at $1, crockets, and papa rellena (stuffed potato) only 1.50!
now the best probably is the cuban coffee (like a espresso type of coffee) and the pastries and desserts mhmhmh, arroz con leche also.
as far as i knew, there are two rules at back tocubacafe, rule one, you should order as it reads on the menu (on spanish) and two, no texting while you eating... really?
well, i kind of got clarify that they suggest and support no to text while you eating, not meaning not texting at the table, only while you eating and got your sacred food (a latin cultural tradition it seems like) but also the enviroment is friendly and not big deal about it, they took care well of our table and the patrons around while i was there.

definetly i would recommend this little and unique cafe, food and table experience are good!

quirky, carribean, delicious. there's not much to say about the outside of back to cuba. it sits in a strip mall, next to a mapco, and a sprint store.

once inside, however, you find a warm, welcoming atmosphere, knowlegable servers, and amazing, authentic cuban food.

as someone who grew up in tampa, i was exposed to lots of quality cuban cooking, both in restaurants, and homes. back tocubamatches all my memories, from the stong black espresso, the fried plantains, the black beans and rice, the cuban sandwiches, or the wonderful entrees.

i can not visit back tocubaoften enough. it refreshes me, and reminds me of warm trade winds, good friends, and some of the best times of my life.
