i got two differnt take out sandwiches and was overly impressed. i haven't had a good cuban sandwich in a long time. they were packed with meat and the cuban bread was amazing. my roomate and i will be frequenting this establishment regularly! i can't wait to try their cuban coffee on my next visit.

not a fan.   we tried them one time and was digusted.   there were only a couple of other customers in the place when we arrived, but it still took an exceedingly long time for someone to take our order, and then to receive our order.    there were several things we would have liked to try, but were told they were either "out" of them (if it was a canned beverage, for example) or that they had none prepared (a food item from the menu).   we ultimately settled for a basic cubano sandwich, and after hearing all the hype about this type of sandwich, we were left scratching our heads.   the worst part of the trip, however, was the utter indifference of the staff.   there were no "thank yous", no "come agains", no "can we get you anything else?".   in fact, a group of the employees' friends or family came in, and they all gathered in a group within earshot of our table and loudly chatted and laughed in spanish- which is fine- but it overpowered our attempts to enjoy the mediocre food that we settled on because they didn't have anything else.   i couldn't help but wonder, with the passive hostility we received (were we bothering them, by coming into their restaurant to order food?), that perhaps if we were cuban that whatever we'd been told they were "out" of might have magically appeared from the back-?    i don't care what others say about this place- we will never go back and we'd certainly never recommend it!

i had a cuban sandwich and flan. it was great! i would put this sandwich up against any that i've had any where else. it's a treat that it's on the way between my job and law school.

this little joint is the bomb digity!! i was staying at hotel nearby and decided to give it a try and i am so glad i did. i enjoyed a croqueta sandwich, a side of grilled plantains and a guava juice. the owner alex came up and socialized for a bit while i placed my order which really added to the entire experience. i would consider this to be a hidden gem of nashville!

cuban nashville??. ok so as a floridian i am very particular when it comes to cuban food. the tacos de lechon were a 10/10 while the cuban sandwich was a 5/10 at best. it could very well be the altitude difference could effect how the bread rises etc. we will be returning but not for the cuban. almost forgot the cafe con leche is worth a mention as well.

great place, great food. it's definitely a hole in the wall. its location in a tiny strip mall is very misleading. i would definitely come back.

tiny, unpretentious place, tucked away in a strip mall - we discovered on urbanspoon while visiting nashville. great food, great service! authentic cuban home cooking! i grew up eating cuban food and this was just like going home. we had croquetas and tostones (crispy fried plantains) for appetizers - they were great! i had the lechon asado (roast pork) w black beans and rice and yuca w mojo. awesome! my wife had the ropa vieja (cuban slow cooked pulled beef w savory sauce) w black beans and rice and sweet fried plantains. absolutely sublime. we brought our own ice cold beer and wine. we ordered cuban bread pudding to go - because we were too stuffed to eat it there and took home lots of leftovers! if you love cuban food - you must visit back to cuba!

the back to cuba cafe may not be much to look at from the outside, but you should not judge this book by its cover. i ordered the cuban sandwich. it was delicious!
