to owner. love this place as far as atmosphere and food &wineselection. my only critism is i'd like them to match the service to the pricing, food and atmosphere. the lack of individual service to tables, has made me hesitant to spend my time and money there.

hope they take this to heart so the business will grow.

artisanal cheese plate. 4 cheeses, sliced fruit, mixed nuts, housemade fruit
compote and french baguette. not a fan of the plastic black plate it was served on, but the rest made up for it!

humboldt fog (aged goat, california)
roaring 40's blue (cow, tasmania)
délice de bourgogne (cow, france)
gran queso (aged cow, wisconsin)

a taste of everything. quaint atmosphere, good service. my only suggestion to the management is that they find a way to keep the curtain closed between the kitchen and dining area. otherwise we had a good experience.

we started with the artisanal cheese plate, a really nice variety of cheeses, fruit compote and nuts. we tried their cabernet sauvignonwinesampler, which was bridesmaid, napa valley 2006, stone edge farm, sonoma 2007, and paradigm, oakville 2005. topped off with simple entrees of pasta marinra and beef skewers. we plan to go back.

backwinebaris a small &intmate place for a great light dinner and a glass of wine. the staff is friendly and very passionate about food & wine. the ahi poke was tasty and jeff, the owner, always makes a great creme brûlée. thewinelist has a lot of fun geeky wines as well as some crowd pleasers and an intriguing bottle list.
