unfortunate evening. my wife and i hand dinner 4/17/14 and it was extremely disappointing. the soups, steak, and fish were in edible . we paid our bill feeling bad regarding this unfortunate evening. we were able to eat very little of the food and left disgruntled. the waitress was pleasant and understanding.

a very fortunate afternoon.. christopher was kind enough to open for lunch this past saturday so our graduate could celebrate in style - and did he ever. we all did.

there were quite few large parties throughout the restaurant and everyone seemed to come in at the same time. we were a little unsure, i'll admit, how this was going to play out.

it couldn't have gone more perfectly, at least from what we could tell. our experience was amazing. watching the staff was like watching a finely tuned orchestra. our server was great. he has a knack for details and treated us like royalty while providing quite an amusing, yet appropriate amount of comedy. when our food came, all of the servers suddenly came together as one unit and served each of us exactly what we ordered. i remember that type of thing to be one of those magical details of eating out in paris and new york with my parents as a kid. that type of thing makes you feel like a person, not just another face having your food auctioned off to you.

the food.... the food was incredible. we didn't know until we arrived that the steaks are hormone and antibiotic free, the chicken is free ranging, the seafood is wild and is served within hours of being caught. it makes a huge difference and we feel it warrants the prices.
my husband and kids said that any future steak dinners elsewhere will be a lackluster experience forever more, unless we are at b. christopher's, or more steakhouses take this approach and then rival this excellent service ethic.

we were stunned that gratuity was not included when the bill arrived. the waiter told us that the tip was "our business" when we told him that he forgot to add it. my 76 year old mother was more perplexed than we were. perplexing, and refreshing.

this place has the right ideas when it comes to good, down to earth service and exceptional treatment/appreciation of their guests. we tipped appropriately, and it felt nice for a change to have that choice. we left feeling proud of not only our grad, but with a new pride in greensboro. mr. russell is raising the bar and setting a new example of having pride in a job well done.

excellent service by angel for this pharma dinner, in a cosy room that accommodated 15 and good technology set up. on the app platter the crab cakes were delicate and well seasoned, and the smoky bacon wrapped shrimp expertly cooked to perfection. salad with champagne vinaigrette a bit drenched (i had asked for it on the side, got about twice what one might apply) but tasty. asked for filet and double asparagus (and no mashed potatoes), seem to have gotten double potatoes instead. potatoes were lightly garlic flavored and delightfully fluffy. filet was well aged and truly melted in mouth, delightful with sauce. chocolate raspberry tart yummy but nothing special. nice food and setting in downtown greensboro.

comparison of 3 visits to b. christiphers. my wife and i have eaten at b. christopher's 3 times-once in burlington which was excellent and not as pricy as in greensboro. we've eaten two times in greensboro. the first time the food was excellent except for the fact that our steak, while cooked to perfection and was very tender, was cold. service was excellent. the second visit recently was not as good an experience as the first. the meat again was cold and the sides- the corn dish was slightly burnt, and the brussel sprouts were not as flavorful as first visit. service while great, i would rather have an excellent meal. the restaurant has moved into a high rent district in greensboro with limited parking available. we will try the restaurant again to see if our last visit was due to being extremely busy night and an anomaly or is what to be expected ever time.

a+ food and service. my husband and i had dinner at bchristopher's new restaurant in greensboro this past friday evening. the atmosphere was quietly elegant, and the service was excellent. nice wine list. the caesar salad was delicious. i had a hot appetizer for my dinner, puff pastry with an artichoke filling which was wonderful. my husband had the tuna, which was perfectly cooked and very fresh. burlington's loss is certainly greensboro's gain. we wish you well, chris.

nice locally owned steak house. this is a very, very good, locally owned steak house - beef is the headliner, as it should be, but the supporting cast more than holds its own here. the service, once in gear, is excellent. the wine list is more than adequate, if a little on the pricey side. the apps, salads, sides, and soups are more than just nice - they definitely add to the experience.

the first impression here is that of a small place, but that would be misleading. rooms are plentiful, rambling in nature, seating is abundant. the bar is narrow, compact, but attractive. the martini cold and consists of a large pour.

now the food: the oysters rockfeller were close to the best i've been served - the fresh, crumbled bacon absolutely set off the large, moist oysters. the wedge salad was fresh, and loaded with flavor. the french onion soup continuedthe theme - excellent, rich broth; great onions and cheese.

the bone-in ribeye (22 oz) is very nice - and cooked at rare+ as requested. this entree is designed to be shared, and you get a side , as well - i would recommend the onion crisps and fries - life is short, so if you become addicted to them, how long can it last?.

the wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable, the kitchen quick and efficient - the chef brought our steak to the table, and wanted to be sure the preperation was what we wanted - it was. this is not an inexpensive place, but the pricing is in line with the quality here. we'll be back.
