we were very excited to go to thisrestaurantas it was suppose to be the best in the city. the service was fantastic! but oh the food... it was so disappointing, a tiny piece of meat , the size of a credit card! a small potato and small cracker with 4 cherry tomatoes on. my meat was raw even though i asked for well done. my husband and i stopped at burger king on the way home, we were so hungry!
what a shame, we will never go back.

we went on a weeknight in the evening. therestaurantwasn’t too busy and we got seats for 2 near a wall across the kitchen. it was a very tiny table with little room to wiggle. the room was dark but not really cozy. industrial ceiling, minimal lighting but kitchen lighting was reaching us somewhat.
our server was quick but had to be waved a few times for drink refills. we had appetizers, entree, and dessert. the portions were small but tasted good.
we stayed no longer than an hour. as soon as we were done, the atmosphere was not that tempted us to stay any longer. the smell of open kitchen was strong and stayed in our clothes and they needed dry cleaning. food was good but the atmosphere and knowing the food smells stay with you, will make me twice about returning.

i really wanted to love ayden's, i really did. we went here because it made the 100 bestrestaurantlist in canada and was named one of two best restaurants in saskatchewan. but it just didn't meet our expectations. the servers were knowledgable and observant, but the food wasn't as good as we were expecting. my boyfriend ordered the charcuterie platter to start and it was great, lots of different sausages and pickled vegetables. i wanted to order the beef short rib to start, but the waiter came back and reconfirmed my allergy to fish and said that the salad dressing had fish sauce on it. 5 out of the 6 starters had a fish ingredient in them, so i had to order the mushroom starter. the mushrooms were good, but the fried egg that came with it had nori on it and i am not a big fan of that and also it came with very crunchy crustinis, which hurt my mouth because they were so hard and i didn't really understand as to why they came with the dish at all. for mains my boyfriend ordered the perogies which were super delicious. i ordered the chicken schnitzel, which i was very excited about. the chicken was cooked perfectly, very moist, but the entire dish was drizzled with a heavy layer of dijon mustard mayo. i don't really like dijon and i assumed the sauce would be on the side, not drizzled over the entire entree. i got halfway through the main and i couldn't eat any more because the tip of my tongue was on fire and i just wasn't enjoying it. on to dessert, my boyfriend ordered the trifle which was very delicious. fruity and creamy and crunchy. i ordered the chocolate torte, which was not a torte in my opinion at all. it was more like a crumbly, dense piece of cake that tasted like burnt chocolate. the marshmallow and ice cream that came with it were delicious and i was grateful for those components of the dish because if it was eaten all together it was edible and alright, but i would never order it again. overall, i wouldn't go back here. we noticed a lot of people ordered either the burger or steak, i guess those must be the go-to's. aydens really disappointed me in the food aspect.

thisrestaurantneeds to take a serious look at itself and either lower its prices or raise the quality of its food.
i ordered the beef and was pretty disappointed. it was an incredibly fatty piece of meat and crazy salty and over seasoned. i could be happy with that had it been a $20 steak, but i expect a $40 steak to be near perfection. the twice baked potato that came with the beef was inoffensive, and the chocolate torte i ordered for dessert was forgettable.
this meal was by no means inedible. it was fine. but when my bill comes to $70 without even ordering cocktails, i shouldn't be left longing for the food at the pub the next street over.

ayden's is in my opinion the bestrestaurantin the province, hands down. the dining environment is outstanding (beautiful, hip, well though out and unpretentious) and the food we've had was amazing. although the menu seems basic, the execution of the dishes was out of this world. the steamed buns with pork belly were out of this world and the scallops were cooked absolutely perfectly and were delicious. it was hard to believe how good these appetizers were. the gnocchi were outstanding and the desserts very good. the waitress, who was very attentive, did not seem to know too much about food and wine but this was entertaining more than anything else. i can't wait to return. this is now my favoriterestaurantin the province.

i had gone to ayden kitchen and bar for my anniversary dinner as i was told it is run by canada's top chef. there's an open kitchen and it was busy with lots of diners. i had ordered fish which was par excellence. ambiance and interiors are modern and minimalistic. presentation, sauces and accompaniments were perfect and unique. the flavors came together perfectly to create a unique and scrumptious taste. my husband ordered beef which was also very good. perhaps due to the large number of diners that evening, service was a little slow. also, it would be nice for therestaurantto have valet service or parking slots as parking is an issue. on the whole, it was a nice experience!

definitely the bestrestauranti've ever eaten at in saskatoon. ayden kitchen and bar lives up to the hype the locals gave me.

a great spot for locally sourced meats prepared in very unique ways. the charcuterie board was all meat - a nice combination of pates and sliced meats accompanied with flavourful pickled vegetables and strong mustards.

the recommendation for the evening was the pork, prepared in a unique tonkotsu japanese style. it was a thick and tender piece of meat sliced and cooked to perfection. good pieces of fat lining the soft meat. but the most interesting part of the meal was the hand-made ramen noodles prepared in a carbonara fashion. great texture to the noodles, but with the sauce and slices of bacon it was an amazing accompanying side to the meal.

ayden kitchen and bar is the new standard for fine dining i'll hold in saskatoon.

tried thisrestaurantfor the first time over the weekend and it was good. nothing extraordinary but it was still good. for no one really being there when we got to therestaurantfor our reservation at 6:15 it took about 10 minutes before our server greeted us and to get water and drink order. which isn't a huge deal. we both ordered the beef and the saskatoon berry cocktail feature. we also got the popcorn shrimp started which was my favourite out of everything. i expected more and in my opinion it kind of fell short.

i recently went to ayden kitchen & bar as part of a medium sized group of people.  everyone is excited because of the reputation of head chef dale mckay but also the reputation therestauranthas across the city as being one of it’s finest. i was greatly disappointed.  we started with the sausage platter which was excellent.  the food was hot, the presentation was excellent and the three flavours of sausange were great.  i recommend that dish if you are ever there.

we've had lunch at ayden once before. we left a little disappointed in our charcuterie board and entrees, but after receiving a gift card we decided to give it another shot. i ordered the "hotdog sammie", which came with caesar salad and fries. the "hotdog" was a shiny looking sausage that was completely raw on the inside. like mushy, fell apart when i cut it, totally red, raw. the avocado slices were brown and mushy, and the entire thing was drenched in sriacha. so disappointing. i've had better hotdogs from 7/11. the caesar salad was so drenched in lemon juice and crappy dressing that it was barely edible. the croutons were stale (who knew that was even possible), and the lettuce was so wilted that it had no crisp whatsoever. the fries were fine, but they could've been from a&w and i wouldn't have noticed the difference. my boyfriend ordered the burger, and the server suggested getting it cooked medium. the burger itself was fine, but it was nowhere near medium. it was completely raw on the inside, with obvious blood all over the place. the chamomile, lavendar, pineapple soda i ordered was delicious! best part of the meal hands down! frankly i think they should shut down therestaurantentirely and open a soda business. if i had went in for just a drink, i would've left satisfied. but the food was so below sub par that we will never be returning. incredibly disappointing.

probably the worstrestauranti've been in a while ordered scallop and chicken. scallops well there was 4 small quarter size ones on a plate that was about $17 like really wth. chicken was good but for $27 one drum and half a thigh very unimpressed. i had to eat something else to fill me up when i got home. everything is over priced. father in law got the wrong order brought to him and by the time he got what he acually ordered everyone was done their meal and no apologies or reducing price of a small 40$ steak. and to pay 18% on top everything was rediculous. it was not an impressive meal or a filling meal to leave with a $198 bill. rediculous never recommend this place

definitely favoriterestaurantin the city! love dale mckay and his staff! they are friendly, very informative, and accommodating. the food is well worth the wait. have recommended ayden's to almost every single person i know that loves this style of food! very impressed with all of the effort and detail they put into every dish to make it perfect.
once there was a small mistake with my order, and they immediately apologized and offered dessert on the house. multiple birthday dinners have been hosted here, and they love to surprise you with a dessert and a lit candle.

smoky and subpar food. we went to ayden, and were greeted with an incredibly smoke cloud when we entered that didn't dissipate for the whole meal. i got the vegetarian entree (a pasta dish) and was very disappointed. undercooked noodles, and a sauce worse than the five month old jar in my fridge at home. will not be returning; i can get much better food for a lot less money at practically any otherrestaurantdowntown.

smoky and bland. we had supper at ayden, and upon walking in the door were engulfed in a greasy smelling smoke. the whole place smelled like a dirty grill for the whole evening, and after we left i could still smell it on my clothes and hair. i had the pasta dish, and the noodles were undercooked, with a sauce that seemed to have no seasoning, i love pretty much any type of pasta, but i left over half of it uneaten because of the raw noodles. the mushroom toast appetizer was very good, along with the "sugar cookie" dessert, but the lacklustre main course and smoggy atmosphere make ayden a no-go the next time i go out for supper!
