so many wonderful things to choose from on this menu that we need to comebackat least 6 more times! today was breakfast...we split the huge buttermilk pancake and got breakfast burrito loaded with black beans and veggies and cheese and also a chorizo omelet. all were fantastic!
great service! huge place..so it can handle a crowd!

it’s been several years since we out-of-towners last ate here.backfriday evening with a seat outside on the deck. as good if not better than we remember. service very fine, prompt, appropriately avoided chumminess. salmon for me, chicken for her. both of us very pleased. salads were as pleasing and especially so with the vegan (avocado base) green goddess dressing which had great mouth feel. the single regret that i did not order a slice of strawberry-rhubarb pie.

great food, service, atmosphere. we hardly had to wait for a table despite how busy it was; food also came surprisingly fast, a nice surprise since we were on a short time frame. food was delicious!! i love the sides options. our server was lovely and accommodating, and the vibe in this place is like a sunny combo of your favorite cozy restaurant and bookstore. i will be back. but bringbackthe falafel please!

oh goodness, where to begin. i was so excited to try this place, i had heard they had great food. so my husband and i figured we would try it out. wow, it was the worst service we had ever had. you walk in the door and have a choice to go to the right or left which if you have never been there before is very confusing. then when you enter, there is no host, so you stand awkwardly at the front for a few moments and decide to take a seat. meanwhile you pass by quite a few staff members who all see you but don't greet you. once you sit, it is what seems forever before anyone comes to bring you a menu and another forever for a beverage. once you get your beverage, your server runs away again, and you wait yet another eternity for your order to be taken. i was so disappointed the first time i went, but i decided it could have just been a bad day or a bad server, so i wanted to give it two more tries. each time the same story. i just can't bring myself to gobackthere to pay $20 per person and not have someone take good care us. sad day!

beautiful view of lake superior. the restaurant is to the right when you walk in and the bar is the left. grab a menu as you walk to your selected table. although the windows are slightly too high for a good view of the lake, choose a table near thebackwindows. my blt on ciabatta bread was good -- lots of mayo and juicy tomatoes. i opted for sliced fruit instead of fries; it turned out to be the better choice because my dinner companion said the fries were too salty.
the place is known for its baked goods and we weren't disappointed with the rhubarb pie -- a very flaky crust and a tart rhubarb filling.
live entertainment was just starting on the deck as we left.

kept goingbackon the strength of the pancakes. but there's only so much huffy service and attitude one can take. if you like paying $40 for two breakfast burritos and coffee you have to get yourself, and if you like being told (when asking for the order to be put through fast) that you can't get omelettes because they take too long (sounds of julia child rolling over in her grave) then run to this place. i'll be running in the opposite direction.
