asuka japanese steak house & sushi

said it once before, but it bears repeating.... the is truly a restaurant that stands out. the chefs who put out the sushi are truly skilled, even in a crazy rush. we love the laid-back atmosphere and the beautiful seafood. thisplaceis where its at,...a casual atmosphere with people at the helm who care about food quality. we are truly ecstatic about enjoying high-quality, tender, well-selected fish, and a well-developed menu while watching excited children celebrating such memorable birthday parties. you have found the balance and you have our loyalty, chef.

excellent sushi experience. our first visit to asuka was a great experience. we did not get the hibachi, but saw many entertained families in the dining room who seemed quite satisfied. the sushi menu offers many creative selections including a roll called the red bull roll which was seafood and rice wrapped in medium-rare steak. the softshell crab was prepared perfectly. the chef is very skilled and cares about what he served as evidenced by what he put on each plate. he didn't just serve everything with wasabi and ginger, like a lot of places we've been to. the toro(fatty tuna) nigiri was served without wasabi or ginger because the chef thought it stood alone in flavor and didn't need to be dressed up. he was right, because it was flavorful on its own and anything else would have ruined the integrity of the fish. if you go here, please order a quail egg shooter for everyone at table, you won't regret it. asuka delivered a perfect sushi dinner and we will be back.

i went to asuka today for hibachi. my friend and i told the hostess we wanted hibachi, the waitress proceeded to sit me and my friend in the corner. my friend and i got up after 5 min of being overcrowded. we go to the bar and ask for hibachi to go. i get in the car, open my food up and i see a slab of uncut chicken with a bunch of sauce slapped on the top. the fried rice was barely fried and i guess the chef decided that it was ok to slap a fried egg on top of the rice. the egg was not even mixed in the rice. the food looked disgusting. my friend goes in and asks for a refund because this clearly wasn’t hibachi, the staff was very rude and did not give him a refund. he asked to speak to the manager and the manager also would not give him a refund. the manager did not even offer to re make the deplorable food they gave us, he just simply said “that’s how to go hibachi is” and took the disgusting food back that they gave us. so we paid $50 for a to go meal that we didn’t even get to take home. i would not recommend thisplaceat all!

worst japanese steakhouse ever!! my sister wanted to go for her birthday i was not very excited about it but its her birthday. the sever was a jerk from the time we walked in the door! he did nothing but rush us the entire time, as soon as the chef was finished preparing our food he asked if he could get us anything else let me see idk i just took a bite of my food but i guess ill take a box!! needless to say if you are in a big rush and u like horrible service this is theplacefor you but if u want to enjoy your food go somewhere els

food is good but the service has always been terrible. i've been a few times honestly hoping it will get better and it hasn't. the owner i assume runs around furiously. he screamed at our waitress in front of the whole table. i felt so awful for her when she came back and looked lol she had been crying. the servers on the sushi side are always rude and very short with me. i wanted to like thisplacereally but no matter how good the food is the atmosphere ruins it for me. a little professionalism wouldn't hurt. definitely go to one of the 5 other restaurants in town, this is not worth it.

good selection of specialty sushi rolls. also really good hibachi. my new favoriteplacein town.

the best in lexington. thisplaceis the best japaneseplacein lexington. i wish i could go more often. my husband hates waiting at habachi grills but thats the most fun! hope to come back soon. open another please! closer to downtown.

wonderful!!!!!! a slice of heaven in a big bag of fun!. my experience with thisplacemay be different than most, but a friend of mine was having his birthday at asuka and his parents rented theplaceout so we were the only ones in the restaurant. the waiter was absolutely amazing his name was ringo. the food was amazingly impressive, and the sushi was the best i've ever had (i have had a lot of sushi) also the staff walked around with squeze bottles of saki spraying it into everyones mouths. when you see hibachi grills in movies, and the wonderful experiences people have that's what asuka gives you. i will add that it isn't the cheapestplaceto go, but if you're experience ends up being as fantastic as mine was it is well worth the money!

great grill. if you're craving standard hibachi grill fare, this is theplaceto go. probably my new favorite japanese grill.

thisplacewas great fun . ask for the tall thin chef for the best comic relief . the food was also very good. am glad to see this so close to nicholasville
