asuka japanese steak house & sushi

poor service. we dined at the hibachigrillthis evening, our reservation was made in advance for 7 pm, while we waited until 8 pm for a seat at the hibachi grill, we ordered drinks from the bar, on the second order of drinks the bartender forgot about us. after reminding the hostess we had reservations for 7 pm we were finally seated. the menu items were unchanged but the prices had increased. the young lady removing the salad bowls dropped the sauce bowls all over my husband, our cook was not good, he couldn't light the onion volcano and said whoopee and kept going. the portions were small especially the filet mignon. my bill for 4 was well over $100.00. we will not be back:(

asked to leave table!. saturday night the 4 (adults only - no kids) of us went out to asuka & ate at thegrill(outgrillended up being just the four of us - no one else at the grill). it was great, the waiter did a decent job, we paid our tab.

not five minutes later (no joke!) - i had just finished signing the receipt and tallying the total with tip, our waiter asked us to "please go ahead & leave the table" as they "need the table for other customers". i turned around, thegrillbehind us was empty, as were many of the grills in the back & only 6 customer were in the lobby!

i was floored. totally floored. shocked. never have i been asked to leave any restaurant (as our figures prove, we eat out a lot, at high end places such as malones, chop house etc).

i did call & speak to the manager, & he agreed that his server was "completely out of line", it was "unacceptible" & they were "dead tonight" but he only offered a small percentage off out next meal. sadly, despite our many wonderful visits to this establishment, this last experience will probably make it our last. folks, you just do not do that to your customers, especially repeat customers.

great grill. if you're craving standard hibachigrillfare, this is the place to go. probably my new favorite japanese grill.
