the beautiful hotel arista has come up with a delicious affair, the pind diyan galiyan punjabi food festival.

i recently visited therestaurantas they had a special tasting session for the food bloggers. the place is really pretty and inviting.

we started out with the starters. the paneer angara tikka was well coated and roasted and the mushroom tikka too was rich and tasty. the veg dimsums though were extremely delicious and i ended up enjoying them the most. then the dahi ke kebab were very crunchy and delectable.

they have a separate live counter just for the snacks like golgappe, papdi chaat and tikki chaat as well as pao bhaji. almost everything was good with the papdi chaat being the best.

i did not really try the soup so can’t comment on that.

in the buffet main course there was a creamy pasta which was surprisingly delicious and a thai veg curry that had the thai flavor right though the veggies in it were not authentic to thai gravies. nevertheless, the flavor being perfect, i enjoyed it quite a lot.

suneheri zulfein or singapori noodles were okay and not too fancy. in indian veggies almost everything was good and quite yum.

for dessert i had kulfi falooda. they had mango kulfi with tiny pieces of mango in it. it was just amazing.

overall the place has good food and lovely ambiance. wonderful option to enjoy a hearty meal with family and friends.

had a movie plan with friends post a long working day and wanted to enjoy an elaborated buffet meal prior to that. chilli and pepperrestaurantat arista hotel, sunny enclave excited us pretty well. the day when we visited the restaurant, it had "pind di galliyan" festival ongoing. what else would we need to binge eat some scrumptious desi pakwaan and hibernate for few hours at the movie hall.
as we entered, the decor was conceptualized basis the ongoing food festival, inspired by pinds of punjab. there were food carts at one side which had live counters serving chaats, gol gappas, pav bhaji and everything else to give the vibes from streets of any punjabi pind. on the other side of therestaurantwe could see the elaborated main course buffet set for us to relish.
we started with a table full of starters including paneer angara tikka, dimsums & momos, tandoori chicken, dahi ke kebab. each one of the starter was prepared so very well that i somehow felt of skipping the main course over the starting dishes. moved on to the main course part we found there were various salads, soups to begin with. followed by kadhi pakoda, chole kulche, motiya palak, mushroom mutter, mutton biryani and what not.

undoubtedly, tasted each of their preparation and enjoyed the food fest thoroughly.  the dishes were made keeping the authentic pind da swaad in their minds, gives me no chance on judging their superiority and magic on authentic regional cuisine. the best part of the main course menu was that it was kept simple yet so exotic. dishes like kadhi pakora, dahi wala ghost, mutton biryani served with missi roti, fresh phulkas gave us an upteem pind sorta experience.
do try therestaurantfor indulging into such authentic, desi flavors.  chilli and pepper comes in as an exciting option for people in and around kharar, mohali region. arista hotel is one fine property to look upto for family dinners, stay. their rooftop bar andrestaurant- jashn looks promising too.

therestaurant'chilli and pepper' at hotel arista, is situated near the vr punjab mall, and at the end of the 200 ft wide airport road. therestauranthas recently come up with its all day buffet, with their food festival 'pind wali gali' serving street food, alongwith a wide variety of snacks and a lavish spread. being theri first attempt towards a buffet setup, i feel that my overall experience was pretty satisfying.

in starters, i tried:
dahi kebabs: i started with the soft crispy dahi kebabs, one of the best starters on the menu.
paneer tikka: one of the usual paneer tikkas, with huge marinated tandoor-ed paneer served with grilled capsicum, onion and mint sauce.
mushroom tikka: decent oil-free, mushroom tikka garnished with chopped capsisum and onion rings.

street food:
i tried their golgappas served with 3 different varieties of flavoured water- hing, meetha and jal jeera.
their chaat papri was delicious, served with different types of namkeems, and papri topped with tamarind sauce, mint sauce and curd. the aloo tikki, was soft but lacked the crispness.  the pav bhaji, was decent, but could have been improved with the pav bhaji masalas.

the buffet laid out was lavish, with 2 types of soup, about 5-6 types of salads, about 8-10 types of main course dishes and 2 desserts. amongst these, i liked their thai green curry served with steamed rice. the aroma of the thai curry, full of exotic veggies made it a must try dish. their creamy pasta is worth highlighting, made fresh unlike other buffets in the tricity.

the service could be improved considering the requests for breads took a while.
in all, though they were some shortcomings, but considering their first attempt in serving buffet meals, i believe that with their experienced staff and chef, they should overcome these initial teething problems.

certainly, worth a try!

packing was so pathetic that all the dishes were mixed together. it was a veg thali, daal chawal main already mix thi, paneer ki sabji mix veg main mix thi aur raita paneer ki sabji main tha. main delivery man ko call karke bola ke aap thali ko sidha kyu nahi leke aaye jaiserestaurantwale ne apko pack karke di thi kyu thali ka sab samaan ek taraf tha to wo kehta kerestaurantwalo ki galti hai unhone packing theek se nahi ki. total waste of money 😡

it’s really not believable that arestaurantlike arista is fooling people by serving them third class food and charging five star like rates. i ordered two items and both were completely tasteless extremely low quality. guys please don’t order food from here it doesn’t mean that showing up like a uptown fine dine and charge like a five star property you will get great food as well they have nothing.

i have been to this place a few times but this time the experience was not upto the mark. please read the analysis below:

ambience : 4/5 ( ambience is great, good for families, good for talks )

service/attentiveness : 1/5(this is area which made my day worse, the ac's weren't effective, after conveying numerous times i didn't get any help, a table was there with a additional ac to the central conditioning), i had to find out myself that and told them to shift us, then it was day time everywhere there are happy hours on beer, there was a board outside therestaurant1+1, when we were done with everything, they told us that 1+1 is available on top floor and not here, no where it was mentioned on the board, and the craft beer was coming from top floor only. so we didn't avail any offer, as a sign of attentiveness, the hotel could have conveyed us the same earlier)

food: 3.75/5 ( decent food, slight improvements in taste and presentation could have made me rated it better)

price range : comfortable

final verdict : #goodtotry place, i hope the management notes my concerns and give us a pleasurable experience next time.

giving 4 stars because of the good food, cutting 1 cause of the bad service. went to therestaurantand were not attended for at least 20 minutes and finally had to ask for a table. but the food made up for it. tried the dal makhni and paneer masala, food was good and would make you want to go again. just a request to up the service.

since the time it was under construction, arista was like a lighthouse for navigating towards sunny enclave area, since it shines bright and is visible right across the airport road. when the hotel was in the making, the local residents knew something worthy is about to come! and finally it started operating in the month of february!

a place like arista with its rooftop lounge bar and a casual diningrestaurantin the ground floor, along with its marvellous decor inside out is indeed a mark of exclusivity for the people of sunny enclave, since no such exuberant hotel stands in its close vicinity (at least this is what it appears on the outside).

exotic exteriors, beautiful interiors, judiciously chosen tableware, but only one problem at hand - none of it is maintained properly! less than two months since it started serving its guests, but somehow the floors are filthy, the chairs seem worn out and dirty and the tableware is stained. the place is put up tastefully, but has lost the attention of its caretakers too quick!

my review is particularly for the buffet spread served in theirrestaurantchilli n pepper. the food certainly didn't leave us in a good taste and health, and it was neither value for money, since the quality of food was highly questionable.

to begin with, the starters- we were served paneer tikka, veg manchurian, dahi ke kebab and honey chilli cauliflower. veg manchurian consisted of refried stale dumplings in a tangy sauce, paneer tikka consisted of small stretchy chunks of paneer which were highly salty and the version of dahi ke kebab served here absolutely changed the entire meaning of kebabs. the dahi ke kebab were nothing but half cut bread rolls filled with hung curd and oil was oozing out of the bread!

the starters disappointed us, however the soup was still better. the veg coriander soup was more like a healthy homely vegetable soup. i wouldn't say it conformed with the actual flavors, yet it was the first good thing of our dinner, since the fresh boiled vegetables added to it were pretty soothing.

the main course, consisting of indian and two oriental dishes. a few indian dishes were worth a second serving, however most of the other dishes were once again, highly salty and stale including the corn mushroom masala and some special bansari kofte, which consist of hard corn-flour dumplings. the noodles were greasy and spicy however the biggest disappointment was the green curry served in oriental mains! now when we say green curry, it is assumed by default that it is going to be the thai curry. but the green curry served here was not the regular coconut milk based curry but a spicy curry of greens. although there were traces of peppers in the curry, but all you get is half cut french beans in it!
i would suggest that if your chef doesn't know the exact recipe, then please don't include those dishes in your menu.

moving to desserts, they served gulab jamun, ice cream and lauki halwa in desserts. at first it was a bit shocking, as in, who serves lauki ka halwa in a buffet? but my notion got cleared when i finally savoured the halwa, since this was the best part of my entire meal. it is rare for me to take a third serving of a dessert, but lauki ka halwa was worth eating till stomach hurts. it tasted just like gajar ka halwa, the only difference was that the carrots were replaced by bottlegourd. the gulab jamun was too sweet for my liking, and the ice cream was satisfactory.

so although i had high expectations on this place, owing to the splendour, however it did disappoint me like every other place in this area. since my fellow foodie friends have suggested me to try their rooftop lounge, so i would definitely give it a try for once, but the casual diningrestaurantneeds a long way to go to stand strong with its fellow competitors in this area!
