so arista hotel is one amazing place situated near sunny enclave in greater mohali. from rooftop sitting to some beautiful interiors, this place has everything. i spent some quality time with my friends in their chilli & pepper restaurant.

they had this pind wali gali punjabi food festival going on and had a lavish buffet spread. i opted for their non veg buffet spread. i was welcomed with the traditional chaas and thandai. both were good and kinda enhanced my appetite. next up in starters, i tried their bhatti wala murgh, angara paneer tikka, dahi ke kebab, chicken tikka and mushroom tikka. amongst all the starters, i loved their bhatti wala murgh the most. it was superb in taste. the quality of ingredients used was also top notch.

next up, they had a live counter where i tried their golgappa and tikki chaat. the golgappa was perfect, the tikki chaat was lip smacking. full marks for both the dishes.

in mains, the buffet spread consisted of an array of items ranging from pindi chole, punjabi pakode wali kadhi, mutton dahi wala, chicken curry etc. all the dishes were well attempted especially mutton dahi wala. it was really tender and melt in your mouth kind of a dish. really worked well with missi roti.

in desserts, i had their mango kulfi faluda and beetroot ka halwa. the mango kulfi was spot on. it had real mango pieces added to it which worked really well with the faluda. beetroot halwa was also really good. had a little extra ghee to it but tastewise, it is a must try.

overall, i am really impressed with the food as well as the service of the outlet. really happy with the way new places like arista hotel are making up their way in greater mohali. keep it up! :)

the beautiful hotel arista has come up with a delicious affair, the pind diyan galiyan punjabi food festival.

i recently visited the restaurant as they had a special tasting session for the food bloggers. the place is really pretty and inviting.

we started out with the starters. the paneer angara tikka was well coated and roasted and the mushroom tikka too was rich and tasty. the veg dimsums though were extremely delicious and i ended up enjoying them the most. then the dahi ke kebab were very crunchy and delectable.

they have a separate live counter just for the snacks like golgappe, papdi chaat and tikki chaat as well as pao bhaji. almost everything was good with the papdi chaat being the best.

i did not really try the soup so can’t comment on that.

in the buffet main course there was a creamy pasta which was surprisingly delicious and a thai veg curry that had the thai flavor right though the veggies in it were not authentic to thai gravies. nevertheless, the flavor being perfect, i enjoyed it quite a lot.

suneheri zulfein or singapori noodles were okay and not too fancy. in indian veggies almost everything was good and quite yum.

for dessert i had kulfi falooda. they had mango kulfi with tiny pieces of mango in it. it was just amazing.

overall the place has good food and lovely ambiance. wonderful option to enjoy a hearty meal with family and friends.

had a movie plan with friends post a long working day and wanted to enjoy an elaborated buffet meal prior to that. chilli and pepper restaurant at arista hotel, sunny enclave excited us pretty well. the day when we visited the restaurant, it had "pind di galliyan" festival ongoing. what else would we need to binge eat some scrumptious desi pakwaan and hibernate for few hours at the movie hall.
as we entered, the decor was conceptualized basis the ongoing food festival, inspired by pinds of punjab. there were food carts at one side which had live counters serving chaats, gol gappas, pav bhaji and everything else to give the vibes from streets of any punjabi pind. on the other side of the restaurant we could see the elaborated main course buffet set for us to relish.
we started with a table full of starters including paneer angara tikka, dimsums & momos, tandoori chicken, dahi ke kebab. each one of the starter was prepared so very well that i somehow felt of skipping the main course over the starting dishes. moved on to the main course part we found there were various salads, soups to begin with. followed by kadhi pakoda, chole kulche, motiya palak, mushroom mutter, mutton biryani and what not.

undoubtedly, tasted each of their preparation and enjoyed the food fest thoroughly.  the dishes were made keeping the authentic pind da swaad in their minds, gives me no chance on judging their superiority and magic on authentic regional cuisine. the best part of the main course menu was that it was kept simple yet so exotic. dishes like kadhi pakora, dahi wala ghost, mutton biryani served with missi roti, fresh phulkas gave us an upteem pind sorta experience.
do try the restaurant for indulging into such authentic, desi flavors.  chilli and pepper comes in as an exciting option for people in and around kharar, mohali region. arista hotel is one fine property to look upto for family dinners, stay. their rooftop bar and restaurant - jashn looks promising too.

i heard a lot about this place through my friends. few days back as i was in chandigarh i thought of having dinner at this place. straightaway coming to the point, i ordered 'dal makhani' (i always order this whenever i go out, lol), 'paneer bhurji' and 'mushroom do pyaza' with naan. paneer bhurji was not at all tasty but yes mushroom do pyaza was mouth drooling. what i loved about this place is their ambience.

but if you looking for reasonable place to dine out then this is not your cup of tea. because i really find this place costly and not that worthy. coming back to food, it was fine, moreover services were really slow.

recommended: 3/5
price: costly
ambience: 4/5
services: 3/5

the restaurant 'chilli and pepper' at hotel arista, is situated near the vr punjab mall, and at the end of the 200 ft wide airport road. the restaurant has recently come up with its all day buffet, with their food festival 'pind wali gali' serving street food, alongwith a wide variety of snacks and a lavish spread. being theri first attempt towards a buffet setup, i feel that my overall experience was pretty satisfying.

in starters, i tried:
dahi kebabs: i started with the soft crispy dahi kebabs, one of the best starters on the menu.
paneer tikka: one of the usual paneer tikkas, with huge marinated tandoor-ed paneer served with grilled capsicum, onion and mint sauce.
mushroom tikka: decent oil-free, mushroom tikka garnished with chopped capsisum and onion rings.

street food:
i tried their golgappas served with 3 different varieties of flavoured water- hing, meetha and jal jeera.
their chaat papri was delicious, served with different types of namkeems, and papri topped with tamarind sauce, mint sauce and curd. the aloo tikki, was soft but lacked the crispness.  the pav bhaji, was decent, but could have been improved with the pav bhaji masalas.

the buffet laid out was lavish, with 2 types of soup, about 5-6 types of salads, about 8-10 types of main course dishes and 2 desserts. amongst these, i liked their thai green curry served with steamed rice. the aroma of the thai curry, full of exotic veggies made it a must try dish. their creamy pasta is worth highlighting, made fresh unlike other buffets in the tricity.

the service could be improved considering the requests for breads took a while.
in all, though they were some shortcomings, but considering their first attempt in serving buffet meals, i believe that with their experienced staff and chef, they should overcome these initial teething problems.

certainly, worth a try!
