more for looks. as a local, i've never tried arricia because they were known for such high prices and even noted in the local highschool paper the food was seen as mediocre. i went for dinner with a date and found the atmosphere beautiful, the server was very kind, attentive, and very well-mannered. i wasn't very impressed the the menu items since they aren't very original and aren't described any differently than those at a chain. however, i ordered the salmon which was plated beautifully and tasted even better. my date told me about their sunday brunch and chocolate bar that they also offer there. i wouldn't give this place abadreview --- menu items weren't completely outrageous. around $25< ... i think it's worth the atmosphere, great service, and good food.
