better luck next time....... this restaurant is ranked amongst the top in the area, and after dining there this evening i am not sure exactly why. first off, the good: the service was excellent. the crab cake appetizer was excellent, but i would not pay 15 bucks for one crab cake again. the truffle fries as a side dish were great, very tasty, freshly prepared and well put together. the steamed garlic spinach was very good as well, perfectly cooked and very savory. the giant pepper mill is breathtaking. this is where things went awry. the caesar salad was wilted. we sent it back and it came back not wilted, which leads me to believe that it was pre-made and sitting. the bread was dry and unflavored, kind of like stale wonder bread which also tasted like it was not baked today (or yesterday for that matter). my girlfriends pasta was very bland as well. the background music reminded me of "muzac"- bland , generic and annoying. upon suggestion of hotel staff we made a reservation, which was far from necessary as there were only 4 other tables occupied in the entire place. i now understand why. also, 86 dollars for 2 people with no alcohol is a little out of line. happy dining :)

we went here for dinner. i ordered the chicken piccata. it was excellent. one of the best i ever have had. the chicken was tender, and the sauce was great. very tasty. i also had an iceberg salad wedge. the lettuce was very fresh, but there wasn't enough salad dressing or bacon. i had a bloody mary drink. i ordered it "spicy," but it didn't come that way. overall, it was a good meal. the waitress was very friendly and attentive.

great atmosphere, food and people. my husband and i just visited ponte vedra for the tournament and decided to try out this aqua grill we had been hearing so much about. the atmosphere was quite endearing and the back patio was beautiful and the service was excellent. my husband had the ' bang- bang new england cod' and declared the best meal of our entire trip. i had the ahi tuna and it was fabulous, the best i have had in a very long time

loved it!. everything was great. from the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with warm hospitality. the service was spot on, and every course arrived with the perfect amount of time in between. we had fried green tomatoes, mussels, grouper ponchatrain and a bourbon ny strip, all seasoned to perfection and mouth watering delicious. the portions were very generous and enough to take home for lunch the next day. we also shared one of the best key lime pie slices i've ever had. can't wait for my next visit. this will be a regular spot for us. a must try for those in the area!

still love this place 15 years later!. i've lived at the beach for 17 years and have tried every gourmet non-chain restaurant from atlantic beach to ponte vedra beach. hands down aqua grill is amongst my favorites! while gourmet seafood is the specialty, i have had great pork and steak dishes as well. management and staff cares, and the menu is so vast and eclectic, you could eat there often and still have a different menu item each time. focus on the chef's specials menu, for both lunch and dinner. i have never been disappointed.

we made reservations and were slightly disappointed at best my seated at a table in the middle of the restaurant. the table next to us moved to a booth 1/2 way through their drinks. the ambiance was nice. the ladies room could use improving their locks - the doors lock, but are not visible from the outside, so you’re left looking underneath the door or trying the latch.

we arrived early to enjoy happy hour, only to discover that there are no appetizer specials on the weekend. boo!!

crab cake appetizer was very good - jumbo lump and lobster with little filling ($12). both waitresses recommended the grouper with lobster risotto ($32) despite me asking about swordfish. it was tasty, but personally don’t care for pineapple/mango salsa. hubs enjoyed the steak special with demi-glaze. it was cooked to perfection and served with whipped potatoes and a delicious cauliflower gratin. overall, our meal was very good, but very pricey and i’m not sure anything isn’t available elsewhere.

food is fine... nothing special, better places in pvb for the price. seafood is disappointing. the service is good, sometimes spotty, but not bad. the acoustics are awful in this place... it can get very loud, sometimes to loud to hear each other or the server. if you are looking for a special place for a special occasion, go somewhere else.

my fiancé and i visited for the first time on our anniversary and let me tell you... it was an awesome experience. for a friday night, you have to make a reservation especially if you don't want to wait a long for a table or booth. our server was stephen and he was amazing. he made our evening special. he was very knowledgeable of the menu and did not steer us wrong. i can tell that he enjoys his job and providing excellent service at that. starters- we had the mayport shrimp, the seafood chowder (sooooooo goooood- lots of butter and cream i think.. so if you are on a diet or lactose intolerant- definitely suggest taking your pills or make it your cheat day), salad and for our main course we had atlantic swordfish rizzo and seared ruby red rainbow trout oscar. fresh fish and delicious sides. oh don't forget their drinks-- we only tried one drink because it was sooo good.. jalapeno margaritas!!!! yummmm we are definitely coming back and this this with all of our friends.

dined here last friday. our server david was very helpful and knowledgeable. we had the fried calamari crispy and tender, scallops were perfectly seared, stuffed grouper was fresh and tasty. oyster rockerfeller were small and expensive. with a bottle of pinot grigio we paid 135$ for two... overall very good!

about once a  month a few of my women friends, get together for a girls night out which equates to happy hour cocktails, and dinner; normally a fine dining event, tonight that brought us to aqua grill.  it has been remodeled since my last visit and the results are quite elaborate.  dark wood, sparkling glass with upscale lighting, a waterfall wall, space by the open kitchen for a private table and a much improved patio offering a romantic ambiance.

arrived at 6:00 p.m., sat on the deck. we live 2 miles away & wanted to try the new aqua grill (after the renovations). here are my mixed reviews: the service, the ambiance and decor were fantastic. the "fresh seafood" was not as good as it used to be. sad. we ordered the salmon and the scallop meals, the oysters rockefeller, the pumpkin cheesecake & key
iime pie. after $100.00 for two people, my husband remarked "you could have made it better yourself at the house". reason: couldn't taste the oysters (too small), 4 small scallops with risotto (aka rice) wasn't enough for the price, the salmon didn't taste large/flaky/fresh like most local fl seafood restaurants & both deserts were "average". again, the ambiance was great, but the food there has now become "average". if you want a real good meal in that area worth the price, go to j. j. bistro's or medures. my opinion is you will spend about the same, but get much better (remarkable/gourmet) food if you go to j. j's or medures. review: 2.5 stars & won't go back.

moderate food at high prices. very over-hyped restaurant. was told for months to try it, however it seems to lack better flavor in its food. sat on the patio as everyone recommended for the "beach feel" however i just got a ton of cigarette smoke in my face the whole time. best thing i had was the oven-baked oysters. absolutely fabulous. rest of the restaurants food seems to lack the same beauty as the restaurants decor...

decent service, however menu is from 1980's. not for 21st century foodies. a new creative chef is desperately needed. i can not believe some of the prior reviews, obviously people that don't get out of town often!
