great atmosphere, food and people. my husband and i just visited ponte vedra for the tournament and decided to try out thisaquagrill we had been hearing so much about. the atmosphere was quite endearing and the back patio was beautiful and the service was excellent. my husband had the ' bang- bang new england cod' and declared the best meal of our entire trip. i had the ahi tuna and it was fabulous, the best i have had in a very long time

loved it!. everything was great. from the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with warm hospitality. the service was spot on, and every course arrived with the perfect amount of time in between. we had fried green tomatoes, mussels, grouper ponchatrain and a bourbon ny strip, all seasoned to perfection and mouth watering delicious. the portions were very generous and enough to take home for lunch the next day. we also shared one of the best key lime pie slices i've ever had. can't wait for my next visit. this will be a regular spot for us. a must try for those in the area!

still love this place 15 years later!. i've lived at the beach for 17 years and have tried every gourmet non-chain restaurant from atlantic beach to ponte vedra beach. hands downaquagrill is amongst my favorites! while gourmet seafood is the specialty, i have had great pork and steak dishes as well. management and staff cares, and the menu is so vast and eclectic, you could eat there often and still have a different menu item each time. focus on the chef's specials menu, for both lunch and dinner. i have never been disappointed.

about once a  month a few of my women friends, get together for a girls night out which equates to happy hour cocktails, and dinner; normally a fine dining event, tonight that brought us toaquagrill.  it has been remodeled since my last visit and the results are quite elaborate.  dark wood, sparkling glass with upscale lighting, a waterfall wall, space by the open kitchen for a private table and a much improved patio offering a romantic ambiance.

arrived at 6:00 p.m., sat on the deck. we live 2 miles away & wanted to try the newaquagrill (after the renovations). here are my mixed reviews: the service, the ambiance and decor were fantastic. the "fresh seafood" was not as good as it used to be. sad. we ordered the salmon and the scallop meals, the oysters rockefeller, the pumpkin cheesecake & key
iime pie. after $100.00 for two people, my husband remarked "you could have made it better yourself at the house". reason: couldn't taste the oysters (too small), 4 small scallops with risotto (aka rice) wasn't enough for the price, the salmon didn't taste large/flaky/fresh like most local fl seafood restaurants & both deserts were "average". again, the ambiance was great, but the food there has now become "average". if you want a real good meal in that area worth the price, go to j. j. bistro's or medures. my opinion is you will spend about the same, but get much better (remarkable/gourmet) food if you go to j. j's or medures. review: 2.5 stars & won't go back.

really enjoyed my meal ataquagrill. the grouper was very good. they have a proposal sauce they i have had before that is great. service was very good as usually. i have been here numerous times and haven't had a bad experience.

great evening. we've dined ataquagrill many times and it's always been great. this last friday night was no exception. we had great food, wonderful service and a very pleasant atmosphere. it was a little chilly to eat outside although we've done that before and enjoyed it. this time we were seated in a booth which we'd requested in our open table reservation (we'd strongly suggest reservations on friday/saturday night unless you don't mind waiting - the bar gets very crowded!). we both tried new dishes on the menu and weren't disappointed. all in all a fun, very tasty evening!

if you like salt and rude managers, then this is the place. local to the area and have patronized most of the local restaurants includingaquagrill. first the food; my last two visits have been disappointing. the chef seems to rely on heavily salty sauces, i presume to masked the prepared food. had ahi tuna and what a bad call. i know quality ahi tuna and this restaurant doesn't seem to either know how to prepare or buys lower quality fish. now i know one shouldn't expect "healthy" food when dining out, though it is possible, but i'm confident the ahi tuna and stir fry had to be way over 2500 mg of salt.
the staff has always been friendly, not under their control how the management addresses their customers, but one night manager was the opposite of warm and friendly, must be a nj/ny thing i guess. i've found if neighborhood restaurants at least act as though they value their patrons, they just may return. in conclusion, pvb should have better restaurants to choose from and if they remain in business while serving sub-par food, then it's not going to change.

aqua grill has always been consistently great. my family has enjoyedaquagrill for the 25 plus years we've been living in ponte vedra. we were there for dinner tonight and left saying, "i think it's gotten even better!" i had the greek salad, the best one i've ever had. followed by the fresh fish "mediterranean" style. what a perfect combination. the salad was fresh, the dressing delicious and those big chunks of creamy feta. . . yum. the fish was served with orzo and a pastry pocket filled with creamy cheese, spinach and some other goodies. my son had his old favorite, the fried seafood platter with a caesar salad and was happy as a clam. our service was just simply perfect. our server was not only attentive but it seemed like she was actually enjoying her job. if you haven't gone toaquagrill, go. if you have, go again.

excellent service and food!!. my friend & i stopped byaquagrill for lunch to try it out before i decided to take my grandmother there. the staff was incredibly friendly & welcoming. the selection of food was impressive, but the quality was even better!! the food was absolutely amazing. between excellent service and food, this restaurant is about to become a regular of mine. i can't wait to take my grandmother & anyone else who visits me toaquagrill.

fantastic food, great service, perfect ambience. had dinner on 3/11/14. beautiful main dining room, nice bar, but decided to eat outside on the covered porch, overlooking the lake. we were quickly shown to our table and our server was very prompt, friendly and very knowledgeable. the menu is large, very diverse and there were at least 10 entree's i wanted to try, but settled on the broiled red fish over a corn, crabmeat risotto, which was one of the best seafood dishes i've had in northeaster florida in the last 8 years! my wife had broiled mahi over tortellini with red sauce, with mussels and clams, in the shell, surrounding the fish. also wonderful. from the ample wine list we selected a bottle of pouilly-fuisse which went well with the fish. very classy restaurant that we'll be visiting often. i highly recommend tryingaquagrill.

theaquagrill, in sawgrass village just outside the gates of the players club, is our “go to” restaurant for special occasions. with candlelight flickering on every table, smooth jazz playing in the background, and a clientele who tend to “dress up” for dinner, it was the perfect spot for a romantic dinner on valentine's day this year.
the menu du jour included several entrees and desserts not ordinarily offered on the regular carte. my wife, who cannot eat seafood, was delighted to see several options for her dining pleasure, and ordered an 8-ounce filet with whipped potatoes and a medley of asparagus and carrots. instead of the garden salad included in the price of the entree, she asked for what our server slyly called a “honeymoon” salad – lettuce alone! – with the grill's wonderfully creamy and chunky bleu cheese dressing.
although i had intended to choose from among the grill's many signature seafood dishes, i could not resist an unexpected offer of grilled lamb chops, which i ordered “as rare as the chef will serve them!” and that is exactly what i got: 3 exquisite 2”-thick chops browned on the outside, pink through the thickness, and almost red at the bone, sauced with a red-wine reduction that was superb! these were plated with potatoes thinly sliced and roasted until just al dente, and the same asparagus spears and whole carrots similarly prepared that had my wife marveling at the subtlety of the presentation. priced in the $30 range, each entree was well worth it!
although the chef had prepared a half-dozen special desserts for the occasion – including a triple-layer carrot cake and cheesecake concoction that had several diners around us raving – we opted to share an always generous portion of one of the regular menu's offerings: a cinnamon-apple cobbler that is actually almost a classic tarte tatin with graham-cracker crust, vanilla bean ice cream and an artistic drizzle of caramel.
the grill's wine list is extensive and sophisticated. i particularly appreciate the inclusion of one of my favorite oregon pinot gris – robust enough to stand up to the red wine reduction, yet subtle enough not to overpower the delicacy of the very rare lamb.
on the drive home, my wife's comment said it all: “theaquagrill never fails to make a special occasion extra-special!

done right!. dining at this most comfortabl yet well appointed venue is a treat not to be missed! always fresh and delicious cuisine, an appealing eclectic menu with fish preparations to satisfy the most discerning diner, and an emphasis on local providers,aquagrill continues to be one of the outstanding restaurants in jacksonville and surrounding communities.

wonderful thanksgiving. my wife and i are 1,125 miles south of our family. thanksgiving is not quite the same without family close bye. for the third year, we went to theaquagrill for thanksgiving dinner. the food was ... pretty darn close to grandma's special recipes. you cannot beat the staff for their warm and friendly service. by the time dessert roles around, you think you all must be related somehow.

they served a lot of people at the 6 pm seating. orders came out promptly. cold food was cold and hot food was hot. turkey was off the bird carved, hot, tender and moist. cleaned my plate so i got dessert. dessert ... stuffed carrot cake. no one makes one as good in new york, chicago, san francisco or ... even paris.

the owner and manager came around during dinner to make sure everything was to our expectations.

it was excellent food, served well, in a charming atmosphere at a more than fair price. a really good place for your next holiday, or actually any day!

2nd review. been here a bunch for many years. went on a sunday recently and there was music. had 4 yr old. non obtrusive sat outdoors away from guests. asked kindly for service 3 times over a fifteen minute span. didn't fret, went to pussers, not ignored stellar service, better band, good food and cheaper drink. sad to see stupidity, but it's out there and it's getting worse.

good seafood. sure it's in a tourist area more or less, but look at the regulars that convene there weekly, or bi monthly as i tend to do. it's pricey but this place delivers and has delivered excellent florida seafood and more for many many years under the same ownership. i don't know about you but when i dine i like the people working around me to be competent, and the staff ataquais, but the food, it's the food....dude. eat it.
