fantastic. come here every time we get to denver.

two thumbs up!. when we arrived in denver, our hotel shuttle driver suggested this restaurant for dinner. i am very glad that we followed his advice. the three of us were all very impressed with appaloosa grill.

service: we were greeted by a very friendly hostess, sat right away and had a great server. she kept our drinks full and checked on us the right amount of times. she was friendly, efficient and knew the menu well.

food: everything on the menu looked really good. i love that this restaurant, like many in denver, are conscious of people with dietary restrictions. they had items marked if they were gluten-free and/or vegetarian. i ordered the falafel platter which was really delicious. the falafel was cooked to crispy perfection, the greens were fresh and dressed with a yummy balsamic sauce, and the hummus was very flavorful. the two other girls ordered a black bean burger and a bison burger. they both enjoyed their burgers and the fries were perfectly crunchy!

ambiance: it has a very dark, sexy, hipster kind of vibe. it was a little loud and the bar was packed with good-looking people. something we all really enjoyed was the music that they played. very good soundtrack to a delicious meal.

bison bratwurst - wow!. this was so so good.

great local bar!. this place is great! good selection of local beers on tap, excellent food, great atmosphere & live music every night! cool local bands and a friendly staff! try the black bean sliders…awesome! happy hour is a must!

was referred to by residence inn downtown when asked about live music on a late sunday evening. good recommendation! great eclectic food...from falafel to bison sausages (appetizers) which we ordered. this place is owned by the folks who work here...adds authenticity. got to meet one of the owners ... passionate about the joint. had good vibe for a sunday night. good food (not too pricey), live music daily and great atmosphere. loved it!!!

went 3 times in a 5 day vacation. tried to go to marlowe's twice but had private parties so ended up at appaloosa. great bison burger. good bison steak. great mushroom side item. 3rd visit we asked them to let us order mushrooms as an appetizer and manager was very accommodating.

it's ok but i would not rush back based on our first visit. the good: lots of energy. great server. good site seeing. fantastic burger. excellent "english egg rolls." good wine. the bad. kinda dirty looking, as if it's toooo busy. bison steak charred on the outside, rare inside, when i wanted it a medium. conclusion: great place to go for a beer and a burger with friends or to people watch.

attentive staff!. they took good care of us. the place has a cool lived in feel that some of the places on 16th are missing.

decent lunch menu but the homemade chips left a lot to be desired.

bar spot. this is the first and only place i went to here... the bar staff was very friendly even giving us the local scoop on things to do and other places to go. the food was delish and very fresh. one day we had truffel fries topped with parmesan and garlic with their homemade ketchup and when you are drinking this goes down like candy. i actually had the falafel platter which was pretty good, you can tell everything was made in house, minus the pita bread. at night they always have some sort of local band come rolling through and the crowd will start to pick up, so that was also cool... another cool thing, they keep serving food until 130am so if you get the munchies, you can order yourself something... me likey!

good choice downtown. i had the salmon because they were out of their turkey burger, and was pleasantly surprised - an appropriate portion with the fish cooked perfectly. i also tried the bison chili and wasn't disappointed.

good food, bad staff. i've had to vote don't like on the appaloosa grill for one reason: service. the food is good and it is unique, but if you want an experience where you don't have to flag down the staff for a drink refill or silverware, you'll have to go elsewhere. be careful when going there for lunch; the staff seem to have no regard for your lunch hour restrictions.

it's an easy issue for management to fix, however it may be they way they want to run things.

it is probably my go to place on 16th, since the results are pretty consistent. good food, great selection of beers, and adequate service.

bison burger was delicious. very full flavored. tossed green salad with maple vinaigrette would be a great choice. french fries were scrumptious with good seasoning. don't forget to grab the server if you need something, because it is unlikely they will offer much service.

quick, cheap, and convenient. we ate sunday brunch here for $13.50 including a bloody mary!
