might become a favorite. anthonino's has potential to become a favorite of mine and my family. italian and greek are two of my favorite cuisines, so i was thoroughly excited to see that anthonino's offered both!

we started with the spanakopita. i had never had it before but had tried similar dishes. the phyllo was perfect: light, crispy, and slightly buttery. the feta and spinach stuffing was creamy and very flavorful. both flavors really came through quite nicely.

i went with the meatball pasta, because i love a good meatball. these meatballs were full of meaty flavor. they were served on linguine in a good, traditional marinara.

my wife went with the chicken parmesan, which is a favorite of both of us. the chicken was tender and juicy. the breading was light and added just the right amount of flavor and texture. i would put this chicken parmesan up there with some of the best i have had.

anthonino's even has a kids menu. my daughter enjoyed the linguine and marinara.

best of all, anthonino's is reasonably priced, especially when you consider the amount of food and compare it with the prices of the other restaurants on the hill. my family and i will definitely be back. we can't wait to try more of the menu!

pleasant lunch. not a lot to this place, uninteresting concrete patio streetside, typical tables, yada, yada, yada. greek and italian, our group had salads and gyros. the two salads were average, the grilled grouper that topped mine was prefrozen so it lacked the freshness that is so important with seafood. my friend had the gyro sandwich but i was unable to get a handle on that serving because he tends to inhale his food, wipe his face and say, " everybody ready to go". my other guest, after changing his mind 7 times just had the house salad so evaluating that would be useless. all in all, if you need a quick bite, stop in, if you are looking for memories, take a pass.p.s. i think i also need to evaluate my friendships.

have gone here several times for great gyro but most recent visit was awful! hummus was orange and tasted very "off" gyro had burnt meat. very unlike my usual experience here. please keep it that way! :-/

absolutely loved it!. heard on metromix website that this place has one of the best gyros in town. they were right! huge gyro so full of lamb meat it was hard to hold! excellent lamb flavor in the meat, fresh tomatoes, and the tzatziki was the perfect addition! pay a little extra for the feta too - very much worth it! and it was only $6! the hummus was delicious too, but the portion was pretty small. my only gripe. as a gyro lover, will definitely be coming back here. and will have to try the gyro pizza! great, friendly service here too.

always great. we live close and have been to anthonino's many times. we always have a great experience.
my favorites are the cheese ravioli in the pesto sauce or the baba ghanoush pizza. my husband loves the gyro or any of the pizzas. other sandwiches we have tried and enjoy are the meatball, falafel (delicious with a bit of spice), feta burger.

great burgers. i had an awesome burger here, and a great plate of fries. prices are good and the atmosphere is really chill. it's not fancy by any means, but the food is great. i will be back...

but overall, i really liked anthonino's. not only for the gyro, but for the ambiance, the service and the overall neighborhood feel to the place. from the moment i stepped into the place, i liked the warmness of the place.

mclauam our food is not sour!. mclauam, i accept you not liking my restaurant. in no way is any of my food " sour " . if you did not like what you ordered, why didn't you send it back?? i checked with my staff and no one recalled this incident . our ravioli are made in house fresh weekly. there is no way they could be sour. you may not be used to our filling and preparation. we use fresh pecorino romano which has a strong odor to it. if you are not used to fresh real ingredients one could see how your palate could confuse the odor to be sour.

love it - careful on carry-out. love this place. dine-in and pizzas rock. one of my top cheap eats places in the city and service is consistently excellent.

only making this review because we ordered a few random items carry-out and they were uncharacteristically below average. couple salads and couple apps. they told us 45 minutes but the hot stuff was cold and kinda gross when we got it (garlic cheese bread and "gyro platter" which was literally gyro meat in foil and tzatziki). salads were ok though.

will stick with dine-in or pizzas if i want carry-out from now on though but still one of my favorites.

***note to the owner who responded to a review below - dude - i love your restaurant but seeing stuff like this makes me second guess my consistent recommendations to friends. the review section on urbanspoon is not a forum for you to yell at reviewers and call them wrong and it is in especially poor taste to say that the diner was "false" concerning her impression of the meal. bad experiences happen - excuses and accusations are not necessary. let the food/freshness speak for itself instead. also, it is written extremely poorly and full of errors, making it look like an angry rant. thanks

excellent pizza!. we recently moved near the hill, so i knew we had some excellent pizza in the area.

tried a few places, but anthonino's has been out favorite. simply excellent pizza, not terribly expensive.

they have some pretty wacky specialty pizzas. have had the margherita, pepperoni, regular cheese, sicilian, four cheese, chicken pesto (or something like that) and a few others.

the margherita, pepperoni, regular cheese and sicilian were excellent. the four cheese and a few of the other specialities i did not enjoy as much, but generally their pies are some of the best in the city. i think some of their speciality pies cater to specific tastes.

tons of cheese, excellent crust and sauce. in my top three pizza places in the city.

nasty! they delivered our food and it smelled sour. i bit in to the cheese ravioli and it was filled with soured cheese. so gross! so embarrassing to have brought out of town guests here, one of which also ordered the soured cheese ravioli. stick with the tried and true favorites on the hill.

miss the foccacia!. great food, nice atmosphere. i really love the ricotta pasta. we used to go just for the foccacia, though - warm, salty, and delicious! they pulled it from the menu sometime after july of this year. i really miss it!
