the bunz are the stars, and the rabbit was good. the apple butter cake was a delight.

good service, great crowd, and good atmosphere---if a little too dark at our specific spot.

absolutely delicious! my friend and i were on our way to a nearby hotel and decided to stop downtown for a meal and drinks. based on their 90% rating on urbanspoon, we decided to try it. from the start, the hibiscus margaritas were excellent. generous and lovely to look at. the menu definitely reads as more of a tapas experience. so, we tried quite a few items. we had what they call stinky buns. shrimp, pork belly and chinese bbq pork. we also started with the truffle tater tots. perfectly fried and just the right amount of truffle flavor. we then tried duck confit tacos. so good and just the right amount. after that we had deviled eggs with curry crab and blue cheese and bacon. our favorite was the blue cheese and bacon. last we had a beet, goat cheese, pine nuts and spinach salad. everything was top notch and delivered to us in a timely and courteous manner. highly recommend.

global: pertaining to the whole world; universal gastronomy: the art and science of good eating **** fun fact about me: i really love food trucks. going to food truck rallies , even if it means having to sweat it out in the florida heat for food from each four-wheeled automotive, is usually the highlight of my week. in fact, my husband surprised me by coordinating for a food truck to come to our wedding for late night eats. i’m seriously about it, i tell ya! i can’t stand having to wait in a long line outside for a ride at disney, but you make me wait in the same line length, in the same heat, for food from a food truck, and i don’t have any complaints. i’ve experienced many a food truck, but one that i have neglected to visit and give my foodie heart to is stinky bunz , for which i am ashamed. i don’t have to feel too bad anymore because the owners of stinky bunz has opened anise global gastrobar  and i’ve decided to make up for lost time and become a regular. you hear that, anise? i

the cuisine is not the only thing you will enjoy. being from new york i am always on the look out for new hot spots that provide that “city” feel. no, i can’t say this is just like being in a restaurant in nyc. its too spacious and has sprawling ceilings, but also because on friday night their were seats open. it did feel rather warm in the space, but i think that is because the air conditioner needed to be turned up and not because of the crowds body heat. either way, this place reminded me of a high end bar with very interesting decor that i look for when bar hopping in nyc.

i was first intrigued with anise because of the word “global.” it is a restaurant that doesn’t stick to one style of food but instead gives you a worldly sampling of a few. from the redneck caviar turned chic foodie lust of the truffled tater tots to the mexican-korean fusion of duck confit tacos to the gluten free japanese of their jap chae noodles, anise lets you sample the world from the

alrighty.  all we need are a few more restos like anise and tampa might actually be able to pass itself off as a city with a "real" downtown.  recently launched by the folks who own the stinky bunz food truck (of which ud has been an avid stalker for a couple of years now), anise global gastrobar is a chill little oasis occupying a corner of the skypoint condos on ashley drive and pretty much blows away its next door neighbor, taps bar and lounge (not that that's  any huge undertaking, but it's meant to be a compliment nonetheless). after making the ultimate sacrifice for my beloved and suffering through the two and a half hours of martial arts fight scenes in the wolverine (really, honey...can i just give you a kidney next time you need me to prove my love?), underdog graciously decided to reward this extreme display of tolerance with food and alcohol.  one can easily see how marvel comic movies have become almost like pavlov's bell to this sweet polly dog. the restaurant is lovely an

it’s not often that a restaurant asks you to take a seat and travel the world. most prefer you stay firmly planted in the soil of their country of choice; anise global gastrobar is not one of these restaurants. while there is nothing wrong with giving into cravings for a particular country’s beautifully rendered edible offerings, anise asks that you open your eyes not to a country, but to the world.

great little gastropub. truffle tots were to die for. my husband has the veggie glass noodle dish, which was amazing, and i had the oysters (which were just okay), and the spicy beef tartare, which was delicious. we'll definitely be back.

this restaurants not going to last if they continue with the service they have. can manage with the small menu but there is no host for seating and they messed up on orders, wait time for tartar was over 30 min (tartar is raw)... come if you have all night to wait to order....
