sauce was a little too vinegary for my taste, but the smoky flavor of the meat was great! it was also thinner than i personally prefer. i would come back again.

rustic, honky-tonk atmosphere! loved it. felt right at home. our server ida was fantastic. went out of her way to take care of us in spite of fact it was a busy night and all her tables full. personable and genuine. i had stuffed baked tater, smaller than a well known place across town but i thought better flavor beef. i think they use hickory. highly recommended. ☺

why are all those stuffed heads staring at me?

angelo’s has been a fort worth fixture for many years. the interior looks like it hasn’t been remodeled since lbj was president. it sort of feels like an old bowling alley with all the lanes removed and colonel mustard’s hunting trophies stuck up on the walls.

staff are all friendly and welcoming.

this is a texas barbecue parlor. they do a few other things, but it’s mostly about the smoked meat. the ribs and the brisket were extremely tender, but i could have used a little more spice as a rub on the meat. my wife got a half chicken which was very good. our daughter got the brisket tacos which were quite tasty.

it wasn’t the best barbecue i’ve ever had, but it was good. and the throw-back atmosphere is a lot of fun.

three days in texas, one goal: find the best texas style bbq in the dallas / fort worth area.   not only did we find what we believe to be among the best bbq in the area but to our surprise, we also ate perhaps the best bbq of our lives...in dallas texas!!! stop 1: angelo's in fort worth...overall grade b+

just no.. heard good things about this place. we ordered our meals. they are very expensive for the quality. my son loves brisket, he barely touched it. my other son loves ribs, but ate only a few bites. bread was very stale. the place has ambience if you like 1970's restaurant decor. our whole family rates this place as one of the worst bbq places we've visited.

this has to be the most over rated restaurant in fort worth. bad bbq and over priced.

heard about it for years and finally tried it last night.

the brisket looked and tasted like it was cooked in a crockpot. sausage was dry and bland.

i'd rather eat bbq from a chain like dickey's than eat here again

supremely retro with good brisket. when i arrived in fort worth, everyone told me that i needed to try railhead bbq. i decided to try the place with the most 2nd place votes, and that is how i arrived at angelo's. i cannot imagine this place had changed much in the past 50 years. the bbq was good, but the decor was the biggest surprise. there are literally scores of animal mounts in the restaurant. this place is the real deal. it was not designed to look like a real texas restaurant---it is a real texas bbq restaurant.

i was a little disappointed. i had the sausage and brisket plate. the brisket was moist but lacked flavor. i was more shocked by the beans. they tasted like ranch style beans out of a can. i was expecting some homemade pinto beans. at the end of the meal was thinking about desert. come to find out they had no desert. no banana pudding or cobbler..most bbq places offer both. all in all it was just an average bbq place..nothing special.

it's not bad: average brisket (too dry for me), average ribs, you get no choice of sides (when you get a plate). i actually had to use the sauce to help eat the meat. meh!

after seeing that 84% of people liked this restaurant, my mom and i figured sure why not? $35 dollars later, the only thing we like on our plates is the brisket and beans. the coleslaw and potato salad are gross and even though they just opened 15 min ago, their meat tastes very dry and bleh. the sausage doesn't even taste like sausage... it tastes like some weird deer-demon hybrid. i don't know who the 84% are, but they can't be texans if they think this restaurant shows the best of texas bbq.

the sign out front says "great texas bar-b-que," and they're not lying. i don't know if i'll ever get a chance to go back to angelo's, but i certainly hope so.

not the best bbq i've ever eaten but by far not the worst, either. a big barn of a place, inside it looks just about the same as any other. the staff is helpful and they cut to order. on my last visit (last night) the sliced beef was thick and tender with good smoke. the ribs were juicy and meaty. sides were ok - but to be honest i've never had great sides at any q joint in texas. who goes for the sides anyway? still i think when you're in fw it's worth a visit.

nothing special. i went there a couple weeks ago because i heard of how great it was. i thought the ambiance and location was pretty cool. i didn't try the ribs, but the meats i did try were really just very basic. they give you 3 sides with their one plate lunch, but i can honestly say that i didn't like any of the sides. i know that someone must think it's good because of its popularity and always having people there, but it just didn't do it for me.

gahhh-ross :( i'm from a small town just east of austin and when i moved up to fort worth i thought surely someone around here knew how to bbq, boyyy was i wrong. 13.95$ for combo plate, i got one teaspoon of half cold beans, coleslaw and tater salad that looked middle school cafeteria quality, stale bread, dry a$$ bbq that could choke the most moist throat and hot guts ( sausage for those that don't know) that take like store bought eckerds mixed with rubber. the best thing about the meal was the fountain drink. service out of 5 stars was roughly one star and not a bright one at that, i hate to sound so down but it was really just that bad.
