i provided a review on opentablein the fall, and said i would never go back. however i ended up going for new years because a friend had a reservation he could not cancel... although the service was better (the place was not busy which likely helped) the food was bland and it was disappointing to walk out hungry and with a lighter wallet.
i will however say the margaritas are always on point - but i don't feel for the 2-3 bland tacos and few glasses of margs warranted the bill i paid.
especially with vday around the corner, i certainly hope this restaurant is able to step up it's game so people can start getting their money's worth again.
my opentablereview for a sept 2015 visit:
i have been to this restaurant many times since it opened. each time something does not go well - whether it be wait times on reservations, not enough seats or splitting up reservations without telling us, or being told they can't do separate bills, with attitude. the food is usually quite good, and the margaritas flow - perhaps this is what has us overlooking the service and overall experience each time. this time however, it will not be overlooked. we had a 9:00 pm reservation for 4 people, and showed up at 8:45 pm anticipating having to wait until our reservation time, partially hoping ourtablewould be ready early, but not wanting the restaurant to have to wait on us or risk losing our reservation by being late. it was after 9:30 pm when we asked when we would be seated, and were told the walk intablewas not done yet, and they had not been told they had limited time. at 9:45 pm we were seated at a temporary table, to be moved once ours was open, offering one round on the house. after 20 minutes of waiting for our drinks we ordered 2 appies for thetableand mains for half the party (and they were out of fish tacos). after another long wait, the main came, well before the appies - leaving mouths empty. needless to say, we were very disappointed and spoke with the manager, who offered an "i'm sorry" and left thetableabruptly.
1) reservations should be seated within 15 mins before or after their reservation - just as our reservation would be given away if we ended up being later than 15 minutes.
2) if you are going to take walk ins when you have scheduled dinner reservations, you should absolutely be advising them of the time restriction - not just for the benefit of the reserved party, but also so the people who walk in do not suddenly get ambushed with being rushed out the door.
3) we all work hard for our money, especially in this economy. you want ours, do your job and at minimum provide proper customer service.
