have been a fan ofperuvianfood and been in many p. restaurants but this one was it. elegant looking and services but extremely friendly, attentive staff. the lay out allowed customer to see the kitchen and all activities there. beautiful!we walked in and were seated near the bar. beautiful! saw the female bar tender making mix drink non-stop literally which meant that the place did well. my mojito was excellent. the appetizer yellow potatoes with spicy tuna and crab meat and the lamb chop were...delicious, colorful, and beautiful. i wish i could try all the dishes there. menu was pretty long!

we finished off our portland trip at andina, a fantasticperuvianrestaurant. it was happy hour so we were able to try some very interesting drinks including the sacsayhuaman, which was habanero pepper vodka with passionfruit and cane sugar, what a kick! the ron-yki-on was ginger rum with grapefruit, lime, and a cardamom-sugar rim, also fantastic. the pisco sour was lime, egg whites, bitters, and sugar, really fantastic. the empanadas were also on the happy hour menu and were some of the best empanadas i have ever had! the entrees and dessert were great as well. we were worried about not having reservations but were able to get our party of seven seated with just a couple minutes’ wait. highly recommend!

two hours after amtrak deposited team mago (amazingly on time) in the city of roses, we were seated in andina drinking chilean beer and oregon pinot while listening to our earnest waiter describe three different dipping condiments that came with the restaurant’s whole wheat and quinoa bread. it marked the start of a very nice lunch.
the bread was light, airy, and just slightly chewy. each dip was not only very nice by itself, but the sum was greater than the parts as they provided distinct contrasts. the jalapeno and mint puree (on the left) sported a very decent hit of heat that played nicely against the mango dip’s refreshing acidity. perhaps the most interesting condiment, however, was a rocoto (on the right, aperuvianpepper that provided subtle heat in addition to an interesting flavor profile) and peanut sauce thickened with breadcrumbs.

my previous encounters withperuviancuisine stretch back a couple decades to el polo rico, a roasted chicken franchise that took northern virginia by storm in the 90s. their repertoire consisted of fairly good rotisserie chicken, steak fries, rice, and coleslaw served with jalapeno and mayonnaise sauces. none of this food was particularly peruvian, but the price was right and the staff spoke spanish (although i suspect most of them came from mexico and central america along with the rest of just about every commercial kitchen in the us). so i never felt the siren call of this incredible cuisine, until the 2014 winter tour rolled into the portland.

andina serves authentic traditional and novo-andeanperuviandishes that are from a completely different universe wherein the laws of culinary physics simply do not apply to cut rate rotisserie chicken purveyors that can be found in most of the world these days. the extensive sunday brunch menu listed 34 tapas and 13 entrees. we never got past the tapas, which can be ordered in small, medium, or large portions. we found that four small portion

amazingperuvianfood!. we tried andina when in portland recently and what a place! we went to peru recently, so knew what to order and what to expect, and it did not disappoint. we are partial toperuvianfood, one of the up-and-coming cuisines in the world, but what a place this is! this may have been one of the best restaurants we have been to in the last few years. the décor, the service and especially the food were spectacular. we wish we could eat there every month, but i guess that's one more reason to visit portland.

perfect twist onperuviancuisine. my girlfriend treated me to dinner here for my birthday, and we had recently just returned from a trip to peru. while andina's menu is not 100% faithful toperuvianfood, it does get close. in certain aspects, it even improved upon what we loved from the country. i highly recommend getting the pisco sour (the signature cocktail of peru) or the sacsayhuaman (named after a fort/citadel above cusco), both drinks are delicious. it's especially fun to say the latter cocktail's name aloud.

great gluten friendly!. just celebrated our anniversary dinner here. i was tremendously impressed with their gluten free menu. it was almost the same as the regular menu and has a wide desert selection! in place of the bread they bring fried yucca! they were super friendly and knowledgeable. they walk the novice thruperuviancuisine selections including the amount of "heat/ spice" you can tolerate. the atmosphere was great, food presentation artistic and beautiful and it was an all around worth repeating experience. besides needing to go back to check out all the other inviting menu selections from tapas, entrees, drinks and deserts!

amazing intro toperuvianfood. andina has outstanding atmosphere, food, and service! all around wonderful dining experience. my fiance and i went here last month for dinner and were thoroughly impressed. we tried several small plates: avocado stuffed with crab, marinated beef hearts, steak tartare topped with a quail egg, roasted red pepper, and fried polenta. each dish was delicious; there is no way to pick a favorite. drinks were dangerously good as well. i recommend visiting during happy hour ;) i left feeling inspired and looking forward to my next visit.

i want moreperuvianfood!. being from brisbane, australia, peruvianfood isn't quite readily available.
we happened upon this place while dining at crush in seattle and got talking to a lovely couple who highly recommended this place if we were only spending 1 night in portland.
we managed to get a booking (thank goodness!) and although we were late and quite stressed at being late, the hostess and waiters calmed us down and assured us it was fine.
we quickly got onto the pico sours (recommended to us by the aforementioned couple) and started ordering; which is by no means a small task given the extensive menu with all things sounding delicious.
our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive and very helpful with interpreting the menu. we settled for oysters, prawns, stuffed peppers, octopus, pork, and sea scallop. finished off with a passionfruit canoli, and 3 types of creme brulee. we were also given complimentary alfajores and desert wine from the hotel we were staying at (benson hotel).
bill was nothing surprisingly given how much we ordered and the quality of food; i will spend my time in australia wishing i could revisit this amazing establishment.

specializing in contemporaryperuviancuisine, this popular and sophisticated spot features a menu with shared plates in three sizes. the servers are adept in advising how much food is enough for your party, and the more the merrier because you get to try more items. among the dishes my quartet liked best were the complimentary trio of dipping sauces served with the bread, a spanish-style potato frittata with aioli, the flaky-crusted beef empanadas, and a super-tasty green mango-and-poached prawns cebiche. oh,

omg! what a great dinner we had at andina. on a friday evening, we arrived 15 minutes for our reservation and were actually seated a few minutes early. my wife and i shared the stuffed pequilla peppers for a first course and they were excellent. i had the stuffed pork tenderloin which is truly impossible to describe except to say it was a delicious melding of interesting flavors. my wife had the braised lamb shank which was also tender, flavorful and quite delicious. the wine list is excellent with an amazing array of wines by the glass. we ordered a bottle of 2009 numanthea termes wine which was delightful. for dessert we shared the fried cannolis stuffed with passionfruit mousse. just a lovely flavor combination. we finished with some very tastyperuviancoffee. our server, morgan, was delightful and very attentive and helpful with suggestions.
