amigos cantina

love love love!. amigos cantina is a staple restaurant and bar here in saskatoon, and is an absolute delight. no frills, super chill, and tasty double grills; amigos has awesome food, and some truly lovely serving staff. on top of being a family-friendly restaurant during the day, this place also doubles as a bar and a fantastic live music venue (one of saskatoon's & canada's best) in the evenings. it is very evident the love for music that this place has - especially in supporting local talent (...regardless of the hour of night, this is a big part of the reason why we pay a "cover charge" to see live music - to support the band!!!). the staff here work their butts off, and do a fantastic job while doing so. amigos can accommodate a ton of people, and the amount of food and drinks that this establishment can pump out in one a night is impressive. are you waiting a while for your food? look around - it's because there are a couple hundred other people there who are also dining in. sit back, relax, and have another drink; the wait will definitely be worth it. love this place, the food, and the people! one of saskatoon's gems.

crapola!. dirty and crappy!

"security/bouncers" = booooo.. a girlfriend and i had gone to amigos for "old times' sake". we arrived at approximately 1:38 am. we were greeted by an unfriendly "bouncer" at the door, who demanded $10.00 each for "cover charge". the atm just inside the door was not working. the "bouncer" then said, basically, well i don't care - you didn't "approach me" properly, so, you can go back out the door and around the corner to the 7-11 atm to get the cover money to come in. anyway, we did pay, $20 for the two of us, and then the band was done within a song. we left thereafter, and i then realized i left my phone behind. will see if it turns up tomorrow. that said, very poor service and willingness to assist. quite the opposite.

don't bother ordering a lunch special, it's sold out every time i go, what a waste of time. again, arrive at 10 after 12, only to hear no more specials, which is why i came...never again

best nachos in saskatoon.. this place has the absolute best mexican food in saskatoon, maybe even saskatchewan. the nachos are phenomenal, the pasta specials... unbelievable. the service is good, nothing spectacular, the place is a bit of a dive but that's all a part of its charm and i promise you will leave satisfied. if i was asked to name my favourite saskatoon restaurant, amigos would be the answer.

love this place. i absolutely love this place. the atmosphere is amazing, the food is fabulous! especially the chicken and spinach enchiladas

hipster haven. anyone who is anyone from saskatoon knows to go to amigos. even people from bigger cities like toronto come here when they are in saskatoon!!!!!!!

if you come here for lunch or supper there's so many cute kids running around with their cool parents drinking beer and savouring burritos. if i have kids some day, i'm totally going to take them to a place like amigos. you can tell that these kids do not live in the suburbs!! they are right from nutana a lot of the time. lucky kids!!!

if you come here at night you can get some tasty fare and check out the latest local indie acts. once in a while they even get bands from bigger cities because amigos actually has a well known reputation beyond saskatoon. they've even been on cbc 3 before!! and those succulent enchiladas just make you wanna never leave!

this place is a dive and i love it. food is decent, service is mixed (one of the girls is great, another one is not so much), but it's got a chill atmosphere and is a good place for nachos.

the other day i was in amigos and our water smelled like smokes. wash your hands after next time! lol! no worries tho

awesome food. great even for vegetarians. their bruschetta and mexi layer dip are awesome, and their veggie burger is to die for. i'm officially a fan of this place.

poor lunch experience. went there for lunch today and at 12:07 was told that the lunch special was sold out for the day. that was disappointing. maybe once it's sold out make a note on the chalk board so i don't have to go back to the menu and waste more time. i ordered something else and it took almost 30 minutes to come out. once i got my food it was great but i don't think it was worth the time or cost.

the best. i love amigos and we usually go about once a week. what you see is what you get - super casual, no frills. delicious food and beer, simple.

nasty and gross and it took forever ...and full of bums and drunks the band sucked the list goes on and on ...

disappointing. i want to love amigos-they make the best nachos in the city, but once again the service and the cleanliness of this place make me cringe. we sat outside on the 'patio' and the service was marginal at best. no one offered to wipe off the table and it was literally covered in dirt. food was late after they gave our nachos to another table. no explanation or apology for that either. the place also needs a huge cleaning. quite dirty.

love. amigos is one of my favorite restaurants in saskatoon and i have been many, many times. i always recommend it to people visiting saskatoon. the décor isn't anything to rave about and i make sure to tell people that before they go, but the food is so delicious. i typically get the chicken burrito with a garden salad in place of rice and beans. the garden salad is my favorite in saskatoon. it's full of vegetables and lots of cheese - not just a few pieces of lettuce like you typically get. i've had several other menu items also and they have always been tasty as well. i love amigos!

the food is excellent and the service is nice. but it takes forever to get what you ordered.
