i always look for goof greek mediterraneanfoodwhem travelling. i stopped in for lunch and had the buffet. everything on the buffet was very fresh and prepared well. i don't usually like buffets, but this was deffinetly worthy of the visit. i can't wait to return. there was to many options to try all that caught my eye. a little pricey for lunch. i plan to return for dinner the next time.

i usually boast, but not today. the hummus of course was perfect. i always get the golden chicken with the garlic dip. the dip has changed to a processed oil based dip that was unflattering and saltier. the chicken was unusually salty. i usually only have one glass of water, but i had three glasses of water and couldn't finish my chicken. i drank two more glasses of water when i got home. did they start buying their chickens from a new provider that pumps them full of salt? i'm hoping this was a one-off incident. then i read some other reviews from other ali baba's fans that said they had the same issue and that it wasn't like that before. what has happened to you, ali baba's? did you cut back onfoodcost to balance out the lakewood rent cost? i will try again. i'm really hoping it was a one-off kinda thing.

best buffet you can get. i actually am not into the concept of a buffet generally, but ali baba's really figured out how to have a classy buffet (i know...oxymoron), quality buffetfood(another oxymoron), and an all around great experience. just for reference, the roasted chicken, hummus, and falafels are amazing.

ronda j.. we had an informal dinner meeting at ali babba's lakewood and were very pleased with the food. i've been looking for tabbouleh that is prepared the way my lebanese friends fixed it and ali babba delivered.

we ended up eating waves of appetizers and it was all excellent.

i have to agree though - wear your fat pants because there is a lot offoodto try.

one of my absolute favorite places to eat in dfw is ali baba. i've been to the lakewood and richardson locations and thefoodis great at both!

the lamb kabob is a personal favorite, but tonight i tried the roasted chicken based upon a recommendation. it was fabu and that presents me with a dilemma ... which do i get?

pricey but not bad for lakewood. this restaurant isn't bad for lakewood and has kind of a homemade feel to it but is a little overpriced if you expect more flavor from middle eastern food. my husband and i have tried it twice and have concluded the business strategy is focused on generous portions and not the variety of flavors and sauces we have come to love in middle eastern food. the vegetables are fresh and flavors are decent. the portions are texas-sized. i highly recommend the saffron chicken that had saffron, curry and white wine and whose flavor really hits you, especially the first few bites. the baba ganoush is also very fresh and excellent. at jasmine cafe in richardson, the $12 kabob plate is $7, a normal portion, and comes with several exotic sides like ganoush, hummus, and arabian pickles. at the same price points, iranian cafe izmir serves big flavor in small, waistline-friendly masterpieces. but, hey folks, it's lakewood and most people in the restaurant were wearing birkenstocks and came for the olive-garnished martinis. if you find yourself in lakewood and craving fresh, healthyfoodwith no chance to go to izmir or jasmine, it's worth stopping in.

horrible experience..foodis pretty good, but the service can be atrocious. so frustrating an experience tonight that i created this account in order to write this review.

payment time came after our meal tonight, and two credit cards with no common denominators (mine and my girlfriend) were turned down, according to the server. at this point i was forced to leave my girlfriend sitting at the table while i left the restaurant... i went to the atm, found that the card worked perfectly, got cash to cover the bill, went back to the restaurant atm-receipt-in-hand. showed them the receipt, at which point they swiped the card again (first time in front of me). it went through fine, and despite the 30-40 minute hassle they flatly refused to discount the meal in any way, and continually ignored requests to speak with a manager.

even if thefoodwere perfect it would not be worth the hassle of dealing with the employees. avoid this place, or plan on spending cash and counting your change.

i have been a customer for many many years. know thefoodvery well, and know for a fact that they do not use rice aroni as one of the comments made. this people are very hard working family they have been doing this for quite a while and know theirfoodvery well. in fact they know more about taste, quality and ingredients on a dish. i am sorry you think is rice aroni aperantly that's where your palet comes from. give this people a little more respect for their hard work contributing to the economy creating jobs and their deliciousfoodthat dallas so despretly needs thank you!

worst dining experience - this location has badfoodand service.. i was a regular for many years at the lower greenville location. i loved thefoodand the warm family atmosphere. i ieft the area, but recently returned. i was delighted to hear about the new location and look forward to the old experience. was i wrong! the food, while not as good the old location, was barely acceptable. the shish tawok and vegetables were overcooked. the restaurant was only half full. the service person, a fat woman wearing all black went from not helpful to being downright rude. rarely, do i complain to management, but felt compelled to do so. when i asked her for the manager, she informed me that she was one of the owners. when i asked her about the bad service and she informed stated that because i only bought and entree and an appetizer, that she had other tables to wait on. i wished her well and told her i would let all my friends know. stay away from this location. this is cafeteria mediterraneanfoodat best. need goodfoodat good prices with appreciative service? visit galilee grill at 1520 elm in downtown dallas.
