i usually boast, but not today. the hummus of course was perfect. i always get the golden chicken with the garlic dip. the dip has changed to a processed oil based dip that was unflattering and saltier. the chicken was unusually salty. i usually only have one glass of water, but i had three glasses of water and couldn't finish my chicken. i drank two more glasses of water when i got home. did they start buying their chickens from a new provider that pumps them full of salt? i'm hoping this was a one-off incident. then i read some other reviews from otheralibaba's fans that said they had the same issue and that it wasn't like that before. what has happened to you, alibaba's? did you cut back on food cost to balance out the lakewood rent cost? i will try again. i'm really hoping it was a one-off kinda thing.

best buffet you can get. i actually am not into the concept of a buffet generally, butalibaba's really figured out how to have a classy buffet (i know...oxymoron), quality buffet food (another oxymoron), and an all around great experience. just for reference, the roasted chicken, hummus, and falafels are amazing.

i lovealibaba and i eat here regularly with my family. the hummus and falafel are average, but the baba ghanouj is nice. most of the entrees i have tried are really good too.

ronda j.. we had an informal dinner meeting atalibabba's lakewood and were very pleased with the food. i've been looking for tabbouleh that is prepared the way my lebanese friends fixed it andalibabba delivered.

we ended up eating waves of appetizers and it was all excellent.

i have to agree though - wear your fat pants because there is a lot of food to try.

one of my absolute favorite places to eat in dfw isalibaba. i've been to the lakewood and richardson locations and the food is great at both!

the lamb kabob is a personal favorite, but tonight i tried the roasted chicken based upon a recommendation. it was fabu and that presents me with a dilemma ... which do i get?

oh really. some of these reviews are jaded by a bad experience and it is a shame becausealibaba is a very good restuarant - the golden chicken with the garlic sauce rocks!! hummus and salads are very good...falfels are wonderful with the tahini...try it at noon when you can use the buffet to try many different things

lunch is best!. i have been eating atalibaba's ever since it opened on greenville avenue (they have moved to abrams and are no longer on greenville) and have loved it from the start. however, the move to the larger location has caused the owners to make certain changes that are not for the best. they have dropped their really exquisite vegetable plate and have added an oily vegetable melange to the the other dinners which is a tasteless mishmash of squash and onions. the addition of a full bar for those who enjoy spirits is a plus and the new location is much larger and has, finally, adequate parking. most of the dishes from their original menu have made the transition in tact, if not with the same "homemade" taste originally created by the owner's mother. somehow the food has taken on a commercial quality and has a slightly less savory palette. the real plus in the move, however, is the lunch buffet. this buffet beats everything else in town. all you can eat from a really exceptional choice of practically everything on the menu and then some. you can pick and choose the combination of flavors and textures you enjoy - the meats, vegetables, salads, soups sauces, etc., and avoid the set items at dinner which you may find less attractive. the owner's would do their fans and themselves a big favor by ditching the set menu at night and simply continue the buffet into the evening. one last quibble, the actual printed menus are really butt-ugly. they are an off color plastic coated design that looks as if they were created for a middle eastern denny's.

abrams location not recommended. maybe the greenville location is better, but the abrams location serves sub-par mediterranean food. ziziki's, kosta's, zorba's, or even a gyro stand at a mall will treat your tastebuds so much better thanalibaba. one of the things that i look forward to the most at a mediterranean restaurant is lovely, fluffy pita bread, butalibaba's was disappointing--tasted like the kind you get from kroger's. i had read that you just have to try the mezza plate appetizer, but eh, it was just okay. i had read that the golden chicken was amazing, but eh, it was just standard roasted chicken with, frankly, an unpleasantly grainy "sauce" on the side. the gyro meat was dry and overcooked. service was lackluster, and the decor was reminiscent of a vegas buffet. (not a compliment.)

one of our faves. i can't imagine why people on here seem to dislike this place--the food is fantastic, the service is great, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere...what's not to love? we get take out fromalibaba a couple of times a month, and other than a couple of minor incidents when this location very first opened, we've never had a bad experience. here are some of our favorite items: the mazza plate (great hummus and dolmas), foul modamas (fava beans with lemon and garlic), chicken curry, the gyros plate...and my personal #1, the baked kibbi (i ask for a side of lebneh instead of the cucumber sauce that is now included with this item--delicious!). anyway, this is definitely a place that deserves a second chance!

give it time, it is awesome. i noticed thatalibaba was a least favorite this month. please remember people that when a place that has had ten tables for the last 19 years moves into a large space, it will have to work out some kinks.alibaba has a great recipe for success, its being overseen by its original owners and deserves your support. there food and servcie are great, if you had one bad experience doesn't mean you shouldn't give them another shot. i have loved this place since it opened.
