alchemy is one of the best bars in chennai. ambience/interior decor is awesome. dj is awesome. she plays music which both men and women will like, and she makes sure to include a lot of varieties in her music. however in many other bars, songs would be mostly meant for men and variety would be less.
most bars in chennai play sports / music videos however at alchemy, tv shows movies so that’s something different. customer service is good. cocktails are good with quite enough varieties. one can try liit and the finale. other liquor is moderately priced. on christmas day, they gave us complimentary cakes.
food is good, esp non-veg. however i feel there could be more food varieties. and the sauce base used is mostly the same for all food which i’ve tried here. so there could be more variety in cuisine.
another thing is that the smoking room is closely opposite to some seats. so while people come and go, the smoke might slip out. however it’s not very uncomfortable and won’t create a problem unless someone opens the door a lot. or one has to take seats quite far from the smoking room.
reserving seats is recommended. the main reasons to come here are the dj and customer service. i felt it’s women friendly and quite safe.
