how was the food?
yummy!
ordered thechickenmadhfoun and meat zurbiyaan for ifthar. it is enough to feed a family. the portions are huge!

how was the ambience?
we were seated in a private room which had an arabian style. there was a curtain, a bell to call for any queries, and the best of all we were seated on the carpeted floor

how was the staff?
very polite

how was the price?
35+65 + additional for drinks

will i recommend it?
yes

the food quality is great and my favorite has to be thechickenmadhby without a doubt. the soup that comes along with the order just compliments the rest of the meal and the quantity is more than enough for its price so i'll say its economical as well. my only suggestion is that they should give more chutney's along with the meal.

we were looking for a restaurant in barsha and decided to have food in al romansiah, we ordered forchickenmandi.

first of all when we entered the restaurant the family area was very untidy and the waiter took long time to clean up. it seemed he had not interest with his work.

thechickenmandi we ordered was very unusual, it really did not taste like mandi, the rice was normal and thechickenwas old and dried.

we were really disappointed with the food.

very decent yemeni place, we ordered one meat maddoon and onechickenmadfoon, and both were really tasty with the sauce that comes with it and the soup, but am a little upset because they forgot my bread which i really wanted to try, and also the price of meat madfoon is way higher than other places, and not for better quality, nevertheless i would still recommend this restaurant.

i was about to write a very positive on this, but some points make it little bit mix of positive and negative points.

i was planing to try a new restaurant for delivery,  i grabbed the list of restaurants from zomato to order online, my eyes caught this restaurant.

i ordered tikkachickenas well as fattoush.
i made a remark that i want the food to be delivered by 2.00.

the first positive point that by 1.30 the delivery guy called asking about the place and sharp 2.00 pm he was delivering the food into my office.

next positive point is the way presenting the food, the photo shows, this is the first time a restaurant delivering to jafza giving the plastic sheet for table.
quantity of the food also is a positive point; additional hommos, small salad pot, additional dressing for the tikka and good packaging for them.

the negative point was the food is little bit cold (the tikka) but the taste was good...

it's good maybe next time the food can be little bit warmer and i will enjoy it with this good service.

ordered achickenmandi from this restaurant yesterday via zomato online and got really disappointed by the way my order was handled. zomato estimated the delivery time to be around 45 minutes. so when one hour has passed. i called up the restaurant to follow-up on my order. the person on the other line could barely speak english. what i could gather from his words is that they are about to deliver it. 15 minutes later, i got a number of missed calls on my phone. turns out, it's the delivery man. those missed calls are basically his way of asking me to call his mobile because he doesn't know my address. in total, it took them an hour and a half to deliver my order. i am based in barsha 1 and so is the restaurant. the receipt that i got doesn't show my name and address on it. i don't understand the point of zomato asking for the delivery address when registering for an account when restaurants like these doesn't even bother using them. i normally use online ordering because it's supposed to by-pass the language barrier. as for the food? it's just regular, it doesn't standout. i had better from other restaurants in the area. will i order from this restaurant again? no.

situated at indeed a pertinent business place, but, the same precision should have been reflected in its taste and recipes, but couldn't.

ambiance:

let's start with the ambiance. ambiance was nice and cozy and the "majlis" part was nicely covered and kept. calling bell was also helpful to get things easier. nicely executed.

service:

spot on, patient, diligent, welcoming, and pleasant.  full marks.

food:

here comes the core issue which actually precluded me to rate this restaurant better or even good. i orderedchickenzurbiyan and mix grill.

chicken zurbiyan: if you are in love with arabic food and have eaten zurbiyan before then you must not approve, at all, this form of zurbiyan. i don't know from where they got this recipe as for me the rice must not be called zurbiyan rice at all ( i will not even call it mandi rice as well). there was a very strong flavor of cloves which although made the rices aromatic but emasculated the taste (whatever presented) of the dish. you can feel the  distasteful sensation produced by the excess of cloves (and possibly the cinnamon as well) in your mouth.  i am utterly disappointed with the cooking technique and method. in my humble opinion, this recipe requires revamping.

mix grill:

i judge the grill with its juicy meat. i hereby solemnly proffer my opinion that the presented grill (chickenkabab, mutton kabab, chickenand mutton tikka) was not at all  befit to be called juicy or tasty. the meat, bothchickenand mutton, were dry and mutton tikka chunks were even little difficult to chew. i am also not at all happy with the presentation of grill as well. it was presented to us like a mix grill wrap (covered and surrounded by khuboos).

hummus:

it was good and its presence made me able to eat the grill items.

tomato sauce (complimentary sauce serve with rice):

excellent sauce. full marks. had this sauce (and hummus) not been presented the whole experience could have been horrendous.

soup: fabulous in taste. it should be called the signature dish of this restaurant.

bread: wow- looking bread. pleasant to eyes and tasteful to taste buds. a big portion of the bread was eaten with hummus and tomato sauce by us.

qehwa: it was ok. nothing to talk much about it.

value of money:

big no. there are number of restaurants serving mandi, madhbi, zurbiyan, grills, etc. with precision of taste and appropriate to pocket but this restaurant failed to impress me in both the aspects.

i will not recommend this restaurant to anyone because of the aforesaid reasons.

this place was highly recommended to us by one of our other foodie friends. it looks more like a hidden gem.. for the quality of food, the place was more or less empty (at around 3 o clock on a friday).. very neat, beautiful decor and decent staff. the food was very good. we ordered 4 haneeth and 1chickenstew with the yemeni bread.
there is a separate family section with a lot of privacy, unfortunately our group was much bigger than the rooms so we sat in the common area.

i love the culture in this restaurant. that you can sit on the floor in groups and have your meals is so nice. i love to have mosbyi mandhi. the grilledchickenis always very tasty and their spicy sauce makes it even better. its a very large portion so it's great value for money.

been there for the first time. i did like the place and ambience, with complimentary arabic coffee upon your entrance. the menu was just right to the point; item name, item photo & item price. the food was served in fairly short time. i orderedchickenmadby and honey fattah. thechickenwas perfectly cooked. the rice was average, and the dessert was super good; little heavy though.
i was overall happy.

only one concern, the servers di really need to be little more customer friendly.

this is by far the best authentic arabian joint i've been to. the mandichickenwas so well cooked to the bone, it melted in my mouth. all iranian, north indian, south indian & where ever else biryani tastes awful when compared to what i got here. the price is justified because the taste is sooo good. i will be back again.

stumbled across this restaurant as i was trying to find my way out of the maze of oneway streets in barsha. quite spacious with outdoor & indoor seating which includes traditional majlis seating and a whole set of private rooms for families.

late in the evening they had run out of meat dishes which was really disappointing. nonetheless the rest of the dishes were quite good. the starters include complimentary salad and a tasty hotchickensoup. the mains arrived promptly withchickenkebabs which were flavoursome but a small portion. the secondchickendish on the other hand was massive - probably fit for 3. the zerpyanchickenwas the highlight - delicious lightly herbedchickencomplimented the biryani style rice with potatoes & fried onions. the hammour fish meal was fine although they - like increasing number of shops around town - use hammour to simply mean white fish. the meal ended with a cup of black tea. quite reasonable prices too. will be back to try the new meat dishes.
