absolute thai probably is one of the best places in chennai which serves thai food. it is in cenotaph road and has a valet parking. the restaurant is in ground floor. that building also has few other restaurants.

been here with family on a weekend for lunch. the restaurant has pretty niceambiencewith quirky lighting. it has very comfortable seats. the service is quick and responsive.

food was overall very satisfactory. order - prawn tempura, vegetarian spring roll, chicken satay, chicken dimsum, vegetarian stir fry and garlic fried rice.

prawn melted in the mouth and extremely crispy. dim sums were well prepared, soft and had lot of texture. fried rice with stir vegetables was a very good combination.

justifying it's name, it sure was an absolute thai cuisine ❤️ totally fell in love with the food.😍 every dish was so authentic and tasty. the must try are the starters and the tom yum soup🤩 the soup was too good! definitely worth a try. theambiencewas too calming. i found it pricey though. overall a 5/5 for the food and taste! cost wise i would say a 3/5.

one of the best places in the city to have south east asian thai food. it is pretty much easily identifiable from the main road but one has to take a long stretch of two u-turns if you are coming from omr. parking is easily achievable as they allow to park on the roadside if you are going by 2-wheeler and it would be inside if you are going by 4-wheeler. i guess they have valet parking available too. this place has two different tangents of food - thai, sushi and french. thai and sushi are part of one building and french (cafe de paris) is part of different one. the one which we went has absolute thai and sushi in box in same building but different floors. theambienceof at is lit up well and ample seating is available assuming it not be a rush hour place. we were offered a complimentary drink which had ginger and lime finch and then they offered the typical thai munching stuff (a betel leaf, peanuts, dried coconut scrappers). in the meantime we had given our order for tom yam soup (veg and non veg) thai garlic fried rice (veg and non veg). in about 20 min initially came the soup with mind blowing flavours oozing out of the soup which locked my mind and stomach to fully concentrate on it. it was one of the best ty soups i had so far. then within minutes we were served with fried rice which was sumptuously spicy and did test my taste buds to the core. my eyes, nose and mouth were completely filled with water. may be they should have reduced the spicyness a bit. we took a hard stop at this juncture and asked them to present the cheque. bill amount was pretty expensive (900 per head) but it is worth a try for the amount being spent. service needs a bit of push but they were courteous through out our dining experience.

for a restaurant having a 4.5 rating i expected much more. the food was very average and very oily. theambienceis dingy. the bathroom was dirty and small. service was also not that great. the valet service was quick and easy though.

being malaysian and having eaten thai food quite often, i was amazed by absolute thai!ambiencewas calm and pleasant. fragrance of lemon grass essentials was top notch. every dish was made to perfection. the tom yum talay (tomyum soup served with rice vermicelli and rice given too) had plenty of fresh prawns, squid, fish, mushrooms and lemon grass in it and the taste was powerful. the tempura prawns was heavenly and sinful. the sweet thai chili sauce to dip along worked perfectly. garlic fried rice was ok. last but not least, our dessert the banana fritters with a scoop of vanilla ice cream was good too. bananas weren't sweet but eating together with the ice cream completed the whole. looking forward to visit again.

pathetic food. extremely spicy food. i had to cut short my dining with starters and find a better place nearby. two days that followed by were a nightmare. the portion of the food they served was not even half the worth of the money they charged.ambiencesucks. pungent cooking oil smell stuck in the air gave a puking sensation right from the time we entered the place.

for some tangy and spicy lovers !!!
.
.
theambienceis simply superb. its very calm to dine in. they have very mild lighting and spacious dining. to talk about food on my plate was -tod mun khao pod (baby corn starter)
this was very crunchy kind of canopes. the filling was lil sweet and spicy and well caramalised.
-khao phat bai krapao (basil fried rice)
the rice was perfectly cooked and it tasted medium spicy.
-pad khimao
this is flat noodles with basil flavored and with tender pepper corn.
over all its perfect place to dine in and to those who have feel that we cant taste thai food... its definitely not, u must try it over here !!!

i recently visited this restaurant to clinch my thai cuisine cravings. i ordered four dishes pad thai phak, pad thai talay, rad na talay and phad khimao. they started with complimentary refreshment drinks (lemon and ginger) then they gave us beetel leafs with accompaniments like dried carrot, lemon pieces, onion, peanuts, sweet syrup and chilli. towards the end of the main course they gave a luke warm finishing digestive drink.
i’ll just list out few pros and cons.
pros
1. authentic thai cuisine
2. goodambience
3. less crowded

cons
1. slow service

nice cozy setting but theambiencewas unpleasantly overpowered by a room freshner
as we started off it was quite impressive. tomkha soup was just yum. and the spring rolls were crispy and fun to eat with the spicy sweet dip. however the main course padthai was a bit of a downer. it was overall on the sweeter side with nothing to balance out with freshness. another observation was, the food was generally not served hot. not sure if that's a thai thing 🙏
a little bit a proactive service and attention to detail on the execution of the items in the menu would work wonders.

it was my first time experience with the true thai cuisine. theambiencewas so soothing and calming. the aroma essences were too good. it was like you've walked into a thai spa.

coming to the food, they served the miang kham a welcome snack which is served before every thai meal. it was absolutely an interesting welcome snack.

coming to the starters, we ordered the absolute thai combo. it had 4 starters of our choice. we chose 2 prawn starters, fish, chicken. the prawns were amazing! totally loved it.

the soup we ordered deserves a special mention. thailand's most famous tom yum goong (prawn) soup. we got to experience it here. i am still not able to get over this soup. lemongrass, prawns, spices perfectly cooked into a soup. it was so flavorful. i loved the lemongrass flavor with the prawns. will definitely go for this again!

the main course what we ordered were the usual. a spicy thai prawn fried rice and a pad thai chicken noodles. i loved both of them equally.

coming to the dessert, we got the khoa niew mamung! known famously as thai sticky rice. yummy. who wouldn't wanna taste it? it's a just try guys.

overall my favorite place for thai cuisine. i'll always wanna go back again. if the prices were reduced, it will definitely be my go to place. i find it a bit too expensive.

i would give it a 4/5 overall. for the food, a 5/5 for sure ❤️
