i had the mexican bowl from here and i loved it! service was alsogreatand the staff were super polite. i’m from melbourne and i would come down here again specifically for the food! thanks guys for thegreatexperience :)

we had a fantastic brunch, would highly recommend. kids loved the choc chip waffles w berries, choc sauce and ice cream. beautifully presented. we enjoyed the eggs benedict and chorizo bagel. all superb.greatmodern cozy cafe. tip, booths have powerpoints so you can charge electrics! nice. kids loved the secret door to the toilets.

in a little side street in the centre of town, a spot for joe is one of those cafes that is worth seeking out. with a cool urban fitout and a comfortable atmosphere, this is a pleasant cafe for your morning or afternoon cuppa.

service is very hospitable, and prompt. with a decent menu and some appetising sweets, you are always guaranteed something lovely to eat. they also do agreattakeaway coffee, and a spot for joe is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

i visited a spot for joe on sunday morning for breakfast with friends.
there are somegreatmenu options and the prices are good for what for you receive.
the downfall came with some of the service. our table ordered together and when the first two meals came out i was informed that they had run out of what i had ordered so i had to choose something else. i believe when you are dining out, meals should come out together. half of our table was finished their meal before myself and another friend even got ours.
i ended up having a bagel with chorizo, cheese, egg, onion, capsicum & rocket in it - it was absolutely delicious. my mocha was nice too, a perfect balance of coffee and chocolate however it would of been nicer warmer.

overall we were all really happy with the food received, i just think service could be improved and that’s the reason for my lower rating.

i visited a spot for joe this morning to grab a coffee. my partner had assured me it wasgreatcoffee so i was keen to try. i usually drink an almond milk latte but the waitress noted that almond milk doesn't go well with their coffee but they do serve coconut milk. i trusted i'm the waitress and was not disappointed. coffee was one of the beat i've had! will certainly be back!

the place looks great, has agreatvibe but the service is always awful. so unfriendly and rude. if you can get past the poor service then it's a nice space to sit and have a coffee.

ask for temperature. atmospheregreatbut the coffee was cold on saturday made by female staff member. my husband even complained so it must have been cold. pity because it is one of our favourite places for coffee.

dissapointing. barista is rude and arrogant towards customers. other staff aregreatand friendly. food is nice, coffee is ordinary. wont go back mostly because of the barista - such a negative and unfriendly attitude.

agreatspot...not just for joe. this place hasgreatatmosphere, excellent coffee and tasty food, once you enter the venue, you dont want to leave. when i visit my old stomping ground, i try to make my best effort to grab a coffee and a bite before my long trip home. this place never disapoints. every little touch is perfect, even the smarties you receive on your t-spoon when you order a coffee. looking forward to seeing the friendly staff very soon.

great spot!. not sure what all the negative comments are about... if you like a cool ambience and a consistentlygreatcoffee - oh and yummy food that isn't what you'd find at a food court, then a spot for joe is where it's at. it's so frustrating when people knock locals having a go.... are you going to a cafe for a good coffee or to have you ego fluffed? seriously. this place is great, and thank goodness there are more and more popping up around geelong's cbd. one of the best little gems in geelong's cafe scene.

delicious!. went for brekky and tried the 'avochoke smash' -greatvalue for money, with avo, artichoke, feta and tomatoes piled high on a huge chunk of la madre bread. you could definitely share it! coffee was also excellent. service was friendly but a little slow, but i guess that's to be expected at such a busy little spot. will be back to try some of those amazing cakes in the window!!
