a spot for joe

i visited a spot for joe on sunday morning for breakfast with friends.
there are some great menu options and the prices are good for what for you receive.
the downfall came with some of the service. our table ordered together and when the first two meals came out i was informed that they had run out of what i had ordered so i had to choose something else. i believe when you are dining out, meals should come out together. half of our table was finished their meal before myself and another friend even got ours.
i ended up having a bagel with chorizo, cheese, egg, onion, capsicum & rocket in it - it was absolutely delicious. my mocha was nice too, a perfect balance of coffee and chocolate however it would of been nicer warmer.

overall we were all really happy with thefoodreceived, i just think service could be improved and that’s the reason for my lower rating.

looking new coffee destination when we came across this place. a very non descriptive frontage. not on a major thoroughfare. this is somewhere you come to deliberately, rather than encounter by chance. this is somewhere worth seeking out. they do not have a huge range on offer, but what they do, they do very well. the attention to detail of the staff when we stopped in was fantastic from the care given to making the coffee to making sure that the displays were clean and tidy at all times. it appears to be very popular with those in the know. this popularity did make it a little noisy, but the atmosphere, quality of thefoodand service certainly made up for it. would recommend this place to those that believe in quality rather than just quantity.

love this place. has to be one of the best places in geelong to get a latte and light food. yes they are busy, but their is a reason for it. and i don't like how people in other comments say "i had to wait 30mins for a coffee" boo-hoo! you can clearly see they are busy and their are a lot of people who want coffees as we'll ,it's not only you that has ordered.

these guys dofoodextremely well and their coffees are even better! go and say hello..

top notch coffee!. coffee here is amazing. thefoodmenu is a little limited however given the size of the place, it can be forgiven. will definitely keep coming back here!

dissapointing. barista is rude and arrogant towards customers. other staff are great and friendly.foodis nice, coffee is ordinary. wont go back mostly because of the barista - such a negative and unfriendly attitude.

great spot!. not sure what all the negative comments are about... if you like a cool ambience and a consistently great coffee - oh and yummyfoodthat isn't what you'd find at afoodcourt, then a spot for joe is where it's at. it's so frustrating when people knock locals having a go.... are you going to a cafe for a good coffee or to have you ego fluffed? seriously. this place is great, and thank goodness there are more and more popping up around geelong's cbd. one of the best little gems in geelong's cafe scene.

had a take away coffee, which was very delicious! thefoodlooked great too - will have to return to try some of these tasty treats! but will definitely go back for the coffee!

feast time!. thought ill give a crack at a spot for joe's single origin and todays one was (erwin miersch javanica) notes: sweet,hazelnut,lemon,golden syrup. the coffee was good 7/10.foodwise the bacon and egg toastie with cheese and a very delicious sweet chutney wow was it good. will be back again to try more.

i was disappointed about the unfriendly service by the owners of this cafe. people like to be greeted with a smile and hello and some info about their order. stood waiting for a coffee with no one behind the machine for 5mins with no explanation.foodand coffee good but put off by owners lack of connection. most other cafe's are able to churn out hundreds of coffees' and still be warm and friendly.

oh and the coffee in greenwhich village is horrible!! weak coffee??? maybe you should try gloria jeans. or starbucks jasmine.

having been there a few times now, we like a spot for joe and it's a welcome addition to geelong. the coffee is excellent, the interior is great, and while the breakfast menu is short - no kitchen - thefoodis very good. on the down side, the music is a bit late 1990s cafe muzak, not good at all, and the service, depending on who is serving, can be a bit sniffy.

so many positives! love their coffee and sweet treats! lots of quirky mags and plenty of papers, and room to relax on a long bench seat or big communal table.foodlooked delicious too. thank you for bringing a little bit of the melbourne i miss- to geelong!

a spot for joe has got it just right in every way, from interesting menu items, fantastic coffee (and plenty of sweet treats to go with that, like lamingtons, baci’s and argentinian alfajores), very friendly service and an amazing fit out and location – it’s places like this that breathe new life into geelong’s dining scene and excite coffee andfoodlovers who, for so long, have pined for a taste of that city-style chic in our own little town.
