a divine experience. have been the this restaurant several times and had always had an amazing experience. starting from a waiter politely greeting you at the door, to delivering you to intimate, relaxed surroundings, the wait staff have always been excellent and well versed in the menu on offer.
highlights for me have to be :
- homemade duck liver pate, port syrup & toasted brioche, it just melts in the mouth
- spanner crab, green apple granita, chive crème fraiche & baby herb, a delicate entree with well matched flavours
- any special with a seafood bisque
- beef cheeks, rich, soft beef
- their divine selection of cheeses and homemade lavosh
and, of course, their brand new addition to the dessert menu, black forest floor - enough for 2 (although my husband has declared he's not sharing next time), an incredible creation of dark chocolate and other amazing ingredients to create the effect of a forest floor on a marble slab - even if you don't fancy it, get the wiater to describe how they've created it, that'll be an experience in itself.
ok, so i need to stop now as i realise that i sound like their marketing department ....
top marks, all around :-)
