although not a bad place, i’d definitely say it’s quite overrated. the service was terrible, it took a very long time to get a menu, table water, waiters attention for anything even though they have so many people working!!
the meat was standard for the price, nothing special and the portion for some of it was hilarious (don’t expect 200g, one of them came out less then 100g). the cold noodles were below average, but the seafood soup was full of flavour, and along with some pretty goodsidedishes that’s probably the only positive. overall, i find the place not really worth the wait (on weekends) or the price. have had better quality meat for better price and service at other kbbq restaurants.

678 korean bbq has amazing quality of food. the cuts are generous and nicely marbled. my favourite dish is the korean beef tartare with the raw egg & julienned pears. the only limitation is thesidedishes, often kbbq places have a variety ofsidedishes, however 678 are quite limited to only a few such as kim chi & sweet potato.

finally came here after hearing good reviews from friends. we heard there’s always a long queue so we went late (around 8-8:30pm) on a weeknight and didn’t really have to wait. the table is all laid out withsidedishes by the time they brought us to our table. i like how they line the edge of the bbq with half egg and half cheesey corn. the marinated beef rib and pork cheek were my favourite cuts of meat.

one of the most authentic korea taste i have had in sydney. the cold noodle soup is so similar to my tongue memory in the early dates. the seafood pancake is pan fried with a lot of oil giving the crispiness and yummy flavor. the sauce goes so well with the pancakes. some of the smallsidedishes require much time and effort to make even it's complimentary. happy with every dish i have had. this place is popular because many well known korea bands have been there and you will see quite a few celebrity signatures or photos on the wall. the band boys all have pretty faces but look alike somehow somewhere. they must be idols for a lot of young people in asia these days and interestingly they all look having quite girly face to me. the world is evolving to somewhere my age won't understand'). anyway the food there is very delicious.

i initially wanted to come here to see the signatures from all the k-pop idols who had been here before, but after dining i had decided i would be returning for the food.

the cost of the food was quite decent compared to other kbbqs and there was a large variety ofsidedishes and extras that were offered! it was very easy to order as the staff were extremely helpful and even recommended a few dishes. the staff were super polite and always came to my table with a smile, they also changed the grill plate without needing to be asked!

the only downside is that this restaurant is extremely popular, if you go around dinner time there is bound to be a line. they have a tablet where you input your name, phone number and number of people and it will message you when there is a table free. i waited about 20 minutes to be seated for a table of two.

wait was 40 mins and i was very hangry as we were told wait should be 30 mins. however i was pleasantly surprised at the quantity of providedsidedishes and the egg and corn additions to the bbq. only negative was the ox tongue was a little thin and all the meat is on the pricersideof kbbq. nevertheless we will definitely come again :)

the eastwood branch of this popular korean bbq restaurant is as busy as it's city counterpart. it's not surprising as the wide range of quality meats, fresh produce and charcoal bbq are a strong draw. ventilation is also excellent. aside from bbq, they also offer some stews and hotpots. the beef soybean paste soup (doenjang jiggae) was unexpectedly served with seafood (crab leg) as well. it was a bonus for me but those who abstain from seafood may need to take note as this isn't mentioned on the menu. the kimchi and pork jiggae was a bit too sour and probably needed a bit more time in the pot to take the edge off. great selection of banchan and an interesting one was the omelette that cooks on thesideof your bbq plate.

i had a draft review written but then zomato deleted it :”( so here’s a summary:

- gluten free meat since it’s given to you raw and you just cook it yourself. dipping sauces (except salt and maybe the chilli one) +sidedishes (eg seafood pancake, kimchi) may have gluten and i avoided most of the non-raw food

- good service, even with the pull out chimney you’ll still get the smell of bbq on you

- beef wagyu was the best. pork is a definite miss for me and not worth getting. cost around $240 for 6 ppl = $40/pp

great service and excellent selection of korean meat for charcoal bbq.

pork belly super delicious, lightly marinated. to maintain quality pork flavor.

wagyu beef nicely marble, goes well with korean sauce and super tasty.

great ventilation and height adjustable.

minimalsidedishes. could do with more options.

678 is something special. another korean barbecue giant which is amazing and superb! i visited the eastwood chain with high expectations and they were definitely met!

when my family and i were seated, the customer service did not stop.sidedishes were immediately brought out with water and other drinks we ordered. the worker helped us order and gave us daily specials and recommendations.

the experience itself was absolutely wonderful. my favourite must’ve been the egg ring along the grill plate. as you cook the meat, the egg slowly cooked and turned light and fluffy. it literally melted in my mouth. another favourite was also the recommended wagyu! oh my, i would never forgot the tenderness and the flavour of the meat!

korean bbq feast we always love to come back...

out of all korean bbq restaurant we've tried, so far their wagyu beef is the best and we really like their pancakes and dumplings too.... sah recommended! 😆👍🏼

and you gotta try the one at eastwood as we've heard the one in the city branch doesn't have the same bbq grilled egg on thesideof your meat... 😁👍🏼

great atmosphere with friendly staff. quick and great customer service! when asked for their recommendations on servings they were very helpful in helping us order the appropriate amount. the wagyu cuts were fragrant and tender. we loved the corn and cheese, egg on thesideof the bbq as well! overall a great environment with plenty of space between tables making for a comfortable dining experience!

678 sydney - korean bbq restaurant was my first ever korean bbq experience and i had a ball. the food, the company and the venue was all great. i love that you get a gagiliionsidedishes of condiments and the like and i love i got to try ox tongue for the first time. sadly i may have now been brainwashed into liking k-pop and i will return to this place for their seafood pancake alone!

one of the best korean bbqs out there. it stands out by the omelette they put on thesideof where you cook the meat,the seafood pancake is better than a lot of places with plenty of calamari in it. the meats are nicely marinated and tender and with so many customers i'm sure the turnover of meat is often so you won't get old meat. the pork ribs was my favourite prices are fair and it's a big,big place. service was quick and efficient i really enjoyed my experience here
