great atmosphere for lunch. the menu has a wide variety of meals that caters for everyone. the food was really good and presented well. there is also a store where you can buy imported goods. definitely worth a visit.

after hearing such good things about this restaurant i was a bit more then dissapointed at eating there today. the things we ordered was not bad tasting but did not contain all the ingredients mentioned on the menu. like for instance forgetting caviar on the sushi! we decided to only have starters as we did not get what we asked for, and might i add, we paid for much, much more! a really expensive lesson learnt!

given the high ratings and difficulty in securing a reservation, i was expecting a harbour house-type experience (i.e. white linen and silve cutlery) but it has more of an ocean basket feel with plastic table cloths and keg style outdoor benches. that however is where the comparison ends - the food is simply delicious. and given the vast areay of cuisines this is some achievement - from creative sushi dishes to cheese-dripping foccacios, and coupled with. fast, efficient and friendly service, a sure local winner. thoroughly enjoyed.

just love the concept of this place. its vibe is busy and alive.
what ever it is you craving they sure to have it.
mussels and rice starter, calamari, meze platter, and the sushi is the best i've had in a long time.
the staff know the menu, and the wine selection is excellent.

wow!!!, best crayfish & dorado we (4 of us all in agreement) had for quite a while. great food, great service, great presentation, great oysters, we loved it !!! thanks.

chips oily, greek salad 'thin', battered hake okay. the service was good and the staff was friendly. i always love the deli they stock my favorite sweet chilli sauce.

extensive menu with a wide range of options that caters for all. they even have a wide selection of banting friendly meals, clearly highlighted on the menu.
you could come back here every week and taste something different.
another bonus is their extensive wine and beer menu with a number of craft beers featured.
the oysters are fresh and some of the best we tasted. on a monday they have half price sushi so we indulged. although not the most delicately created sushi it is incredibly fresh and very tasty. excellent value for money. very tempting to overeat!
my only complaint was the tempura prawns. more like battered, deep-fried prawns. so a bit of a let down. every meal that came out the kitchen looked great.

awesome food.... so fresh and so delicious.... 
gets really crowded, and might have to wait for a longer to get a place, specially outside seating. but despite being crowded, service is quite prompt.

"linefish espetada" should have been called "lemon wedge espetada" as there were more lemon wedges than fish. good location, average food. a restaurant that doesn't depend on repeat business....

the food, the service and absolutely everything about 34 south was superb! sascha, our waiter is an extraordinary waiter with a great sense of humor without being unprofessional.

yoh. basically ate myself into a food coma here yesterday and it was great! the oysters were super fresh and a great size for the price. the sushi was beautifully presented and also really fresh. for mains i had the calamari and it was just perfect. yummy! for dessert i had the chocolate brownie with fudge sauce. mmmmmm. that was good! the service was tops and and the vibe good. my only fault was the table tht was sticky when we were sat. i don't like it when the staff doesn't wipe down properly. it's the easiest thing to get right.

i love this restaurant. while it may be tough to get a table, the food is awesome. the sushi is really fresh and well made. hot plates are also delicious. i do find that this restaurant is catered for tourists which may be why it's a little overpriced.

all i can say is that it was a fantastic experience! the setting is just lovely, and the service is top notch. we started with some oysters, which are really well priced (some are r10 only), and moved on to some really good food - pasta, chicken, calamari and pizza, which was huge!
the inside of 34 south boasts a deli, bakery and boutique wine shop where you can find rare vintage wines - i aimed to find from my birth year :)
i'll definitely be back for their breakfast, and one of the best restaurants in knysna!

we had an amazing lunch. the food was fantastic and the service impeccable. seafood jambalaya and seafood pasta are definitely recommended. so glad we decided to go there!

place was packed, but still managed to combine good service with great food!! waitress a bit confused about wild and cultivated oysters, but nice night out!
