as of now the best in columbia. i have been there many times, it is the restaurant in columbia which is the topper in the indian category, because there are not many in columbia which are this good. the food is most of the times very good and authentic.serviceis also good, joseph alexander is good at what he does.

didn't like it. the food quality is nowhere compared to bombay grill. theserviceis very disappointing. it's sad as it used to be the best indian restaurant in the town.

very good indian food restaurant and nice tasty food for indian food at columbia, sc. one of the best indian food in columbia area. the food taste really good especially dosai, sambhar and chutney. the buffet has lot of variety and they give you dosai other than a buffet. amazing. it is a nice locality . greatservicepersonnel are sangita and mahesh. we cannot forget the other people who cook and make a difference also especially the chefs. really enjoyed the friday night dinner (5/23/2014) and again saturday lunch buffet (5/24/2014) and again on monday lunch (5/26/2014). i went continuously on three occasion which is rare since i am too picky or fussy they say here!!:) but i really loved it. great place to visit indian food. they have lot of varieties also. even though it looks like vegetarian-they do serve non-vegetarian i did see some items, but i am good at what are those!:!)

i've never written a review on zomato before, but when i saw the negative review below, i had to defend my favorite indian food in columbia!  we ate there tonight (10/15/15) for the fifth time since we moved here from atlanta in june.
the food is phenomenal and the portions are generous.  the 2 gingers special kofta is incredibly delicious - we've had it four out of five times.  i've also tried several of their appetizers and meat dishes - each was delicious.  i could eat the chicken mahkani (aka butter chicken) like a stew.  my father-in-law also spoke highly of the lunch buffet.
service was a bit dicey on our first visit, but the restaurant was packed and i understand that there was a special coupon expiring soon. since then, ourservicehas been impeccable.  we plan to return on a thursday soon for dosa night!

disregard any reviews before feb 2015. this place isn't bombay grill anymore, and it is garbage now.
 this was probably the worstserviceexperience i ever had. i ordered around 7:15 and got an email confirmation my food would be ready at 7:45. showed up at that time and they hadn't even started making my order. i was told there was some kind of "miscommunication" and told to sit down with no apologies. i sat there in front of the host, waiter, and manager for 35 minutes with no info, long enough to see a dissatisfied couple pay and give the waiter a stern lecture about why they would never come back. when my food finally came out i reiterated my situation to the manager and he looked at me disgusted and gave me $3 off a $40 order. i would have just left the food and refused to pay, but i was pretty starving by then. by the way they are treating people i think they might be trying to close. the food was ok, but they won't be open long. delhi palace isn't far away, try there if you're craving indian.

the best!. been to over a million indians restaurants in my life l but i have to say this seriously is the best stuff. so what theserviceisn't up to par but the food is simple amazing and truly authentic! i have not yet had a single thing on their menu i did not like. seriously give this place a try it's literally every indians favorite place to eat. not to meant to be a joke.

awful! awful! awful!. need i say more? hands down the worst food andservicei've ever received at a restaurant. the food was not eatable, so we were going to just eat the bread and leave. well the garlic bread was so full of real garlic that it was bitter and burned the inside of our mouths ( not due to the temperature), so we asked for a different bread. they just shrugged and said it's was what we ordered and wouldn't even swap it out! poor, poor customer service. please save your stomach & colon from torture...dont eat there!

i've eaten indian food all over the world and have to say this is some of the best i have ever had. the atmosphere is not the best but the food andservicemake up for it.

great joint, but with someserviceissues. my girlfriend and i have been going for a few months and have really enjoyed the lunch buffet. however, one of the staff (he always wears a hat) asked me what i did for a living. he told me that i should consider working on a cruise ship (?) since i have a good personality. he then went on to suggest to my girlfriend (who is pursuing her phd) that she go into daycare, since she isn't "cut out" to be in theserviceindustry... we have no idea why he would say such things, and it was condescending. the food however, is really good

rave, rave, rave...best in town. i really liked bombay grill. my dish was deliciously spicy and plentiful. they have a lot a veggie items and are reasonably priced.serviceand atmosphere pleasant. my new favorite spot for indian. we has an app, 2 entrees & a side of naan for $24 tax included.
