as of now the best in columbia. i have been there many times, it is the restaurant in columbia which is the topper in the indian category, because there are not many in columbia which are this good. the food is most of the times verygoodand authentic. service is also good, joseph alexander isgoodat what he does.

authentic i guess. since half the patrons were indian, i have to assume this is pretty authentic. it was lunch buffet, so i can't say much about the menu (i've heardgoodthings about the khadai ginger chicken and the kashmiri naan, but i didn't get to enjoy them).
moderate amount of options on the line, but i would have liked to have seen another meat option besides chicken. the flavors were mostly excellent, but i've had better tiki masala. despite brisk business, the chicken in all three sauces was slightly overcooked, like it had been sitting in a warmer a while. i very much enjoyed the coriander chicken and the other non-tandoor one (can't remember the name, but i had 3 helpings). the other mushroom dishes were also fine, and i liked the little potato dumpling thing. the plain naan wasgoodbut not great, although the mint puree on it was delicious.
unfortunately, a little flaw in the execution, as i found 2 different very hard pieces of some sort of vegetable which was uncooked, one of which tore up my throat when i accidentally swallowed it. now, my stomach is disliking that and the rich spicy food, but i think it was worth it.
overall, a fine meal and one i plan to go back to try again at night despite the flaws.

verygoodindian food restaurant and nice tasty food for indian food at columbia, sc. one of the best indian food in columbia area. the food taste reallygoodespecially dosai, sambhar and chutney. the buffet has lot of variety and they give you dosai other than a buffet. amazing. it is a nice locality . great service personnel are sangita and mahesh. we cannot forget the other people who cook and make a difference also especially the chefs. really enjoyed the friday night dinner (5/23/2014) and again saturday lunch buffet (5/24/2014) and again on monday lunch (5/26/2014). i went continuously on three occasion which is rare since i am too picky or fussy they say here!!:) but i really loved it. great place to visit indian food. they have lot of varieties also. even though it looks like vegetarian-they do serve non-vegetarian i did see some items, but i amgoodat what are those!:!)

delicious food on the buffet. the taste is varied, hot, and fresh. i highly recommend. also manygoodvegetarian dishes. the rice and mango puddings are tasty as well.

good food. we ordered dosa. it was very nice and crispy with sambhar and chutneys.

we also ordered malai kabab. those weregoodtoo.goodservice.

not worth the wait. we waited for about an hour to get our food which had clearly been sitting around cooling off. the worst bowl of channa masala i've ever had - garnished with rotten cilantro. some of the other food wasgoodi'll give them that but all things considered, i wouldn't bother.

great joint, but with some service issues. my girlfriend and i have been going for a few months and have really enjoyed the lunch buffet. however, one of the staff (he always wears a hat) asked me what i did for a living. he told me that i should consider working on a cruise ship (?) since i have agoodpersonality. he then went on to suggest to my girlfriend (who is pursuing her phd) that she go into daycare, since she isn't "cut out" to be in the service industry... we have no idea why he would say such things, and it was condescending. the food however, is really good

the food was great!! awsome masala andgoodvindaloo. the place was very clean. i had given up on local indian but we will definitely go back to the bombay grill. .
