zuri social lounge

i must say i’ve never tasted such a fresh and tasty green salad, it’s one of the things that one can easily take for granted as you kinda know what to expect everytimebut this time, the one i had in this restaurant was really special, well done guys👏🏿. the food was amazing we had a delectable pork belly and perfected - medium done lamb chops👌🏽.

the vibe was so amazing as well and the music was awesome. the service was good also but nothing to rave about there... zuri you have yourself a new “regular”!

great atmosphere. the stuff is friendly. the food is to die for. i went there with my colleagues we had a nicetimeand i will definitely go there again.

it has taken me sometimeto post this review, simply because i was trying to think of a less negative way to write it, after our incredibly disappointing team lunch there last week. 

what is more confusing is that the prices are really steep, which i don't mind because i am more inclined to hope that we will then receive better quality service and treatment but neither happened. 

so i will just state facts:
1. i booked a table of sixteen (16) people with michela vigliotti on the 24th july 2017 for the upcoming friday lunch time. 
we arrived on the friday lunchtimeand were left standing outside because there was no booking under my name for some reason. 
after several minutes i then walked inside, asked for the manager and he finally asked where we want to sit.. 
they then assembled a table of sixteen (16) in front of us all there and then. 

2. the drinks. 
as drinks were ordered, for some reason certain people got their orders. others just didn't. for example, two people ordered a glass of red wine. one person got theirs, and the other waited ten minutes before having to walk inside to request it at the bar. 

3. the food. 
the food was the same situation and almost chaotic. we were served by several different waiters who i can only assume didn't communicate the orders with each other. 
this led to certain people either just not receiving their orders, and others received incorrect orders (thereby having to send their dishes back). 
the lady sitting next to me, actually offered her chicken ballotine to me to try because it was so tough (and overcooked) that she could not cut through it with her knife. 

4. the ambiance. 
at lunch time, unfortunately it sounded like a nightclub but with almost crackly speakers outside due to the bass. we had to request that the blaring music through the speakers outside was turned down. 

5. the service.
apart from the fact that the orders were incorrect, that there were several different waiters serving us throughout the lunch (and i personally had to walk in twice to ask about my order), i can say that it was friendly. 

*recommendation: its safe to say that i thoroughly regretted recommending this spot to my boss and team. after apologizing and consulting with the other members of my team who were at the lunch, its safe to say that they sadly won't be returning either. my recommendation is that i don't recommend zuri social lounge at all.

we have had drinks here twice in the past month and the firsttimeour waiter was extremely annoying. i just couldn't wait to be done. the cocktails were great. the secondtimewe had cocktails in the evening and there was live music and it was so relaxing. loved it.

decided to try zuri for the firsttimetoday. the decor is beautiful and modern. although it is seen as more of a lounge we decided to go for lunch on a saturday afternoon. we started off with scrumptious chicken livers. oh my goodness! the best chicken livers i have ever tasted! tastiest sauce and the bread was fantastic! if i were to be rating the chicken livers alone - it would most definitely be a 5!
for mains we had the shrimp tempura prawn california rolls which were absolutely delicious. the creamy mayo type sauce on top of the generously sized prawn is fantastic! we also tried the greek ziti which is a chicken pasta with feta - also a lovely choice.
great variety of cocktails and our waitress nokuthula was extremely pleasant! i can definitely recommend this place.

my husband and i had sushi, a bottle of wine and some coffees at zuri on saturday. when it cametimeto pay none of their card machines were online or working so we were inconvenienced by having to walk to the bank to draw cash. later once we were home we got sms notification the transaction had gone through on the machine as well. when we called the restaurant to let them know we had now paid twice for our meal they promised they would sort it out and call us back immediately. however they even had the cheek to suggest we must come collect the cash. inconveniencing us yet again! it has now been 4 days,no word and no refund.

amazing service, atmosphere and food. you guaranteed a goodtimeout! i highly recommend zuri to anyone who enjoys a good place to chill with friends and have a drink or cigar.
