tasty filling portions, a friendly chilled atmosphere, $4 for a flat white + the best playlist of any cafe in nz make this the prime place for acoffeebreak in rotorua. the mound of wedges, with cheese, bacon, salsa and sour cream for $11.50 is perfect for a winter day.

we came based on the reviews, the food was not very tasty and thecoffeewas average.

the atmosphere is cool and it looked promising but was disappointing

only went in for acoffeeas wed unfortunately already had breakfast. really busy but managed to get a table.coffeeas usual was on point, ordered a mocha and soy latte. love the consistency over the last 18 years.

lovely wee cafe on the main strip and quite busy for 7am. full of locals coming to pick up their coffee.

large breakfast menu with very reasonable prices. friendly welcoming staff.

thecoffeewas delicious, so easy to drink and a lovely breakie.

lovely ambience, great staff and customer service. i highly recommend their blat! it's just amazing i couldn't fault it.coffeeis absolutely great as well. if you're visiting rotorua and looking for a place that's affordable yet offers great food go to zippy's. every dollar is worth it!

just finished breakfast at zippy. i would have taken photos of my eggs bene but it looked so good i didn't want to waste the time to take a picture before filling my face. it was excellent, eggs were perfect, bagel perfect, hollandaise perfect,coffeeperfect. i'm coming back tomorrow...

superbcoffeeand service. eggs bene cooked to perfection, prices are very competitive, atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. ordering at the counter from a board rather than a menu seems a trend in rotorua that non locals must adjust to!

been here about 10 times over a 3week stay in rotorua. i was never disappointed with thecoffeeor service. a friend got an icedcoffeewhich she thought would be an icey frappe type but it was with icecream, cream and marshmallows. simple misunderstanding. food friends have ordered always was well presented, fresh and fairly tasty. well recommended. thank you guys

zippy central has long been an important part of the cafe culture in rotorua. popular with mountain bikers it was one of the first cool cafés (when people got bored with fat dog). thecoffeeused to be pretty good too. i think we just went there for the last time today. how long does it take to make coffee? we waited nearly 20 minutes for two take away lattes and the cafe wasn't even particularly busy and for at least 5 minutes no one was even making coffee. thecoffeewe received was too hot and had no flavour and was $4.50! more expensive thancoffeein wellington. that wasn't the first time we'd waited so long forcoffee- time after time they're soooooo slow.

i've been going to zippys for about 8 plus years. it never fails to deliver. bagels are sizeable, staff are friendly and energetic. there is a really buzzy vibe to the place. it's getting a little on the pricey side these days but thecoffeeis strong, the smoothies (jackberry all the way!) are filling and the iced chocolates are divine. highly recommend, give it a try! pancakes and french toast are decent too!

something has changed since my last visit, it seems as if no one cares any more there's no passion and i cant be bothered waiting 20 minutes plus for an average coffeeit used to be amazingcoffeebut the not only have they dropped the ball i think they put down the anchor too
