refreshing break from same old raw fish. first and foremost zen has fabulous food. this is a delightful change from the standard sushi menu, although standard fare is available their pan/asian american take oncreativecooking was delicious.
be prepared for a young, new and inexperienced restauranteurs perspective of service.....this will
improve with time. and is far worth waiting for your tea or chopsticks for the tasty morsels that eventually arrive. the food makes malones and asuka pale by comparison. and i believe zen is less pricey than their lessor competitors.
i am a foodie and sushi guy... the flavor combos with jalapeño, sundried tomatoes, fresh ginger, honey and more will bring you back for more. typically, i judge sushi restaurants by the freshness and favors of less popular fish; their yellowtail and red snapper were fresh and delicious, a good sign. try it - you won't be disappointed!!!
bravo - welcome to lexington and we'll wait for the service to jel....it is only their third week.
