my first time eating here and it was very good. i had the santa fe salad, more than i could eat. the wife did not like the peach tea, she prefers regular but the pizza more than made up for it.

eat at your own risk!. the pizza is good and the gelato is wonderful… however, the one time i had a salad, the grilled chicken caesar, i ended up in icu with e. coli... i've had several friends explain bad salad line experiences, one indicating uncooked chicken being placed in her bowl and when she pointed this out, the line person simply dumped the bowl and started anew, using the same bowl! come on now, haven't these people been educated on cross contamination??
though i will never return, i do miss the pizza and gelato... my recommendation would be to stick with only those items which have been thoroughly cooked and / or pasteurized.

fine foods to be sure... zaza has great food. if you're looking for more of that california style pizza with some more interesting ingredients, this is the place for you. we had a pizza with arugula, and while i like arugula the sheer amount on top made the pizza a bit too peppery. it was delicious though.

the one problem i have with this restaurant is the seating. the chairs feel flimsy and no where in the restaurant seems very secluded. i know it's a problem with the space, they're too popular for such a small space. my recommendation is not to come here on a first date...

1am heartburn. tried zaza for 1st and last time. pizza was not good and still up at 1am with heartburn...plastic furniture, bad food, noisy atmosphere and arrogant staff didn't help much either. my mistake but don't make it yours.

great place for casual lunch. i go to zaza every week with my mother. she loves the cobb salad we usually share one with either a soup or pizza. sometimes, the pizza can be a bit on the soggy side especially if you get one with the artichoke, which is literally half an artichoke and the placement of toppings can be very haphazard with all one kind on one side and vice versa. yet, still it is satsifying, i prefer the soups.

impressive evening. two weeks ago i went into zaza, where i go at least once a week. i went in at 9:17 pm and was greeted to an unusually empty zaza. i asked the two young ladies at the salad line if i was too late to get some dinner. they both (politely) told me that the restaurant closed at 9 so i thanked them and left to go elsewhere. i was in my car when the manager ran out and vehemently apologized for having not been served and insisted that i come in and enjoy a meal. he stated that the two young ladies where new and did not know that zaza's policy is to serve, regardless of the time posted on the door. he said that all salads were available to me and he would be happy to make me a sandwich in the back because the pizza line was closed down completely. i paid him for a glass of wine, (he wouldnt charge me for my salad because of the initial confusion) enjoyed a delicious salad and left 15 minutes later full and impressed with my entire experience. well done zaza, you are a testimony to service and commitment. the city is lucky to have you.

so-so salad and pizza. i wasn't particularly a fan of zaza's food. i had their grinder and shared a pepperoni pizza with my wife. i must give them credit for a very clean, quaint establishment. im not particularly a fan of the "hip! cool!" atmosphere, but to each their own.

zaza's uses fresh ingredients, but the pizza seemed undercooked; it had ash on the bottom of the pizza from their oven (which i liked the ash) but the dough itself wasn't firm and the top of the pizza was ridiculously greasy---greasier than the major chains' pizza. i didn't care for it, but some people love their grease, i guess.

the grinder was okay--- i like how they cook the sandwich, but the flavor wasn't impressive. to be fair, i should have ordered a different sandwich or tried a salad.

the gelato was very good. one of the best desserts i've ever had; but, the price for the small amount of gelato you get is really high.

overall, i think zaza's is okay, but certainly overhyped as one of the best eateries in little rock on urbanspoon.

zaza is fantastic!. if you're reading this review, wondering if you should go to zaza, ask yourself the following questions...if you answer "yes" to these, don't go- save room for the rest of us!

1. do you want boring, mass-produced chain-style pizza?
2. do you prefer bland or flavorless ingredients?
3. do you want your salad's ingredients to come from a can?
4. do you want your servers to look like wally cleaver?

if you answered "no," you must try zaza! why?
* the salads are full of fresh and locally-grown (when available) ingredients - the zaza salad is amazing!
* the pizzas are unique and full of flavor - my favorite is the "green + white" - those carmelized onions rock!
* the house-made soups are delicious - mmm...mulligatawny
* the sandwiches are tasty and satisfying - love the grinder
* my kids love the kids menu - little cheeser with pepperoni, please!
*the gelato, in an ever-changing array of fabulous flavors, is divine - arkansas blackberry, chocolate, hazlenut
* the house wine is actually good

the staff are fantastic - it's clear that zaza encourages each person to be him/herself while providing wonderful customer service. i truly love everything i've eaten at zaza. unless you're looking for a dull restaurant experience that is just like any chain out there, you will love the wonderful experience that is zaza.
