this has become one of our favorite places to eat in rockwall...the food is consistently tasty and the service is friendly. faves include the chicken pesto pizza, the spinach and (loads of) gorgonzola salad, and the chicken and dumplings (not like mom made but delicious!). full bar--and the bar is the place for chatty, cheerful singles or couples. bringing a group? order the "tuscan board" and prepare to fight over the tasty combination of cheeses, salami, olives, roasted red peppers...yum! surprise--there is a decent restaurant in rockwall...and you can take the kids--maybe 8 and up (not a lot of floor space for strollers or high chairs).

you won't be disappointed!. rockwall's best kept secret and one of my all-time favorite places to eat! zanata's cozy, upbeat atmosphere and outstanding gourmet has this placed packed every time i visit.
the most popular thing to get here seems to be their handcrafted, wood-fired pies. we have experienced them with anything from sundried tomatoes and prosciutto to red grapes and smoked chicken. each time more delicious than the last (literally). zanata has a rustic menu that changes daily capitalizing on the season's best local ingredients....oh and did i mention gelato?

the good: the staff is knowledgeable, experienced and can always suggest the perfect wine to go with any dish. i cannot imagine anyone ever being in the least bit disappointed with this place.

the not so good: it seems as though i'm not the only person who thinks so highly of this place. every time i've visited there has been at least a thirty minute wait. (they don't take reservations)

our favorite rockwall restauran. we love this place! if we haven't been at least once a month i get a blue feeling. longing for a dose of zanata.

the drinks are superb, the wine selection excellent, the pizza is the best and so are the mussels! love the salads and the appetizers, too.

we have never been dissappointed and are glad that they are doing a great business, so much so they doubled their size!

a new fave.. we've added zanata to the list of our favorite places to go to for date night.

this is a place the locals don't want people to know about. it has the best food around and everyone knows each other. very good place to just unwind and enjoy great people and food. when you come this place will be one of your top 10 places to go.

way too loud!. cant hear myself talk and nobody around me can hear me either...

excellent food and service!. the service and atmosphere of zanata was excellent! the appetizers were extremely flavorful and excellent presentation. the hubbards pizza was extremely flavorful. if you like specialty pizza's this is a place to try!

bring back the bianca!! i love that stuff! although all the pizzas are good, it's my fave. the bruschetta with robiola and pears is amazing too ...

disgusting and service worse than the post office. have eaten here many times in the past and happy with food...service has always been poor at best. tonight ordered a salad and pizza. salad timely served but about 30 minutes later noticed people who came after us finishing their dinner. asked where pizza was and was told "well, you got a salad..." ????? when pizza finally showed up after ordered an hour earlier, it was wet and the toppings all fell off and the slab under it was wet. told the waitress and she just picked it up and walked off told the manager and he basically said "so" and seemed irritated. after spending $36 for a glass of wine, tea and a salad, went home and made a peanut butter sandwich. have been long-time residents of rockwall and have never been treated in such a manner and promise i will never again walk through those doors.

great pizza!. they make the best pizza. thin crispy crusts.. mmmmm!!! love the atmosphere- you almost feel like "family".

zanata is wonderful!. zanata is the best restaurant in rockwall!! we go there at least once or twice a week. the best items are on the specials board. off the menu, the ribeye with pesto, potatoes and marinated mushrooms is amazing!! the salmon is great, too! you can always just order pizza and salad...it is all delicious! make sure to have some mussels or salumi plate for an appetizer! desserts are great, too!
during the day, try square market for sandwiches, salads, and take-out!
