underwhelming. anti-family, very cold, unfriendly, unaccommodating, rude (in a bad way), and pricey. this sushi would be third rate in new york, boston, or toronto but in cary people like it because it pretends to be something it surely is not.

worst service i have ever gotten. they should be ashamed.. i went to this restaurant tonight with my husband and my 10 week old daughter. we were seated near the back so we had room to put our stroller. my daughter was quiet while we were waiting for someone to actually come along and serve us, then someone came to take our drink order finally (did i mention it was not very busy). anyways, my daughter did start to cry a bit so i was putting her in a sling to breastfeed. she was starting to calm down (we were probably in the restaurant for a total of 10 mins with maybe 2 minutes of combined crying. so, she was starting to eat , and the older man at the front asked us to please order "to go". i had to ask him to repeat himself. so he said he wanted us to make our order to go. i told him then we will not be ordering. he actually asked us to leave! told him he was rude and that we have never been treated like that. i have lived in toronto for years and have been out several times with my daughter and not once have i ever been treated like that!

prices were big city like. manager/owner was rude. i love sushi but this guy just put a bad taste in my mouth. if you have any respect for yourself go somewhere else, there are far superior places. this place severely lacks hospitality in the truest sense.

this is a review of a japanese restaurant located in cary, north carolina called yuri. they are open on saturdays from noon until 10 pm, we visited around 1:30 pm. to check out the rest of their hours and their menu, visit their website. the restaurant was a bit more than half full when we arrived. their sanitation score is 97 which is very good. i was immediately greeted by a waitress and seated at a booth. hubby was trying to find a parking spot without ice. since trader joe's is a couple doors down the parking lot is very full and it takes a bit of time to find a parking space. check out the rest of the review, link below.

visiting some friends and looking for sushi. nice area, atmosphere and decor. they had good priced lunch specials. the service was a bit slow but the lady was nice.

we started with pot stickers, which were decent but nothing special. i got the spicy pork bulgogi rice bowl and she got the combo 2 bento box - salmon teriyaki, salad, miso soup, california roll and 3 nigiri pieces.

we had a pleasant lunch and time here. wouldn't be my go to sushi/japanese spot if i lived here though.

forced to leave because we were accompanied by people with special needs: i never write bad reviews, but this experience was truly infuriating. i work for a company that helps people with special needs and disabilities and went into yuri for lunch with some coworkers and clients. the clients have very specific diets and several diet restrictions, but we still like to take them out for lunch outings because it's nice to have a change in atmosphere every now and then and they really enjoy going on outings. the owner of yuri refused to let them eat the lunch the two of them brought in, even though the rest of us were ordering/purchasing the restaurant's food.. when we said we'd have to leave because the clients are required to stick to their diets and are unable to eat the restaurant's food, he proceeded to tell us he was not sorry at all and that it's "common sense that they can't eat outside food in a restaurant." he was unbelievably rude and was absolutely discriminating against people with disabilities.. the waitress, however, was very apologetic. we have never experienced this problem at any other restaurant and i don't expect to ever encounter the issue again because any person in their right mind wouldn't have the audacity to act in such a way. i was very excited to try this place but will certainly never be returning.

sooooooo sloooooooooow. far understaffed on sunday evening. 10+ minutes to be seated when less than half of the tables were occupied. then it took over an hour to get the meal. i won't waste my time there again.

awful experience. i had an awful experience at yuri tonight and sadly it wasn't because of the food. while enjoying my tuna tower, i shockingly viewed the owner of yuri throw out two couples with their children simply because they had children! as a mother of 3, who goes to many restaurants with her kids, i was absolutely disgusted and offended by this type of behavior. although the sushi was fresh, i doubt i will ever go back to this restaurant after what i witnessed.

well worth trying. have been on about half a dozen occasions and been very pleased with each meal. if you like a bit of adventure, and a bit of spice, try the ahi tower. a multitude of flavors and a lot of food. i have to admit i've only had the sushi and sashimi, but have had friends say their savory dishes are delightful as well.

not great food and poor customer service. took my 2 daughters there for lunch today. we hurried after a soccer game to make it in time for lunch and arrived at exactly 2:25, we were seated and then promptly told they would charge us dinner prices (which are really expensive!). we showed her our cellphones showing the times 2:22, 2:23, and 2:25, but she told us that their clock (which was obviously fast) said 2:30, therefore they were charging us dinner prices.
nice! we left and will not be back. terrible customer service! there are too many other good places around here to get sushi with a smile. hope they're satisfied with loosing a family of regular customers over 5 minutes.
besides their sushi which is decent at lunch prices, the rest of the food there is pretty gross, particularly their salad dressing, which is runny and the teriyaki chicken with what seems to be bottled sauce dumped on top. they also use cheap dark meat chicken.
back to sushi thai for us!

pretty good!. my daughter and i ate there for lunch and ordered 2 bento boxes with nigiri, a california roll, one had teriyaki chicken, the other had vegetable tempura and salad. now, the good and the bad:
the bad first: tthe chicken was seriously overcooked with some not so tasty teriyaki sauce dumped on top. the salad was inedible. it was floating around some tasteless, runny, watery something that i assume was supposed to be salad dressing.
on the other hand, the nigiri and california roll were very good. the seafood tasted very fresh! the miso soup and tempura were good (standard). the wait staff was friendly and attentive and the decor is attractive and modern. the restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms (which i really appreciate), and the wait staff was very busy cleaning in between orders.

chicken deep-fried in panko crumbs, dip it into the plum sauce and yum! and of course yuri’s sushi is top-notch with great rice and firmly rolled for dipping into the soy sauce. their sashimi is beautiful, pink fatty tuna and more.

want to know where to get first-rate sushi? look no further than yuri japanese restaurant near trader joe's in cary. this modern, family-owned restaurant’s motto is “quality is our recipe.” superb rolls, sashimi, nigiri and other traditional japanese fare are all freshly prepared and artfully presented. house specialty ahi tower features an upright assortment of tuna, crabmeat, avocado and three types of caviar. owner thomas sun, originally from korea, says the ahi tower is yuri's biggest selling menu item. his son, edward, fills the roll sushi chef quite capably. he honed his skills in los angeles, dallas and other large cities.   more than three dozen special rolls are available, most of which you won't find anywhere else. the atmosphere at yuri is serene and comfortable. service is consistently excellent. it's a great place to go for a quiet lunch or even a romantic dinner with someone special.    discover more about yuri at www.yurijapaneserestaurant.com .

good neighbourhood sushi!. great cuts of sashimi, very fresh, very clean, no "strings attached". perfect for the price range, generous selection and portions on the chirashi don's sashimis. nothing i tried there with the fam was just amazing or life-changing, house rolls were decent, ikura nigiri very fresh and tasty, the important thing is that all items we tried had a consistently good level of quality and freshness. sometimes you just want good raw fish, and you should come here and eat it.

sushi good - the rest poor. i hate to be the one to post a negative comment but my family ate there tonight and will not be eating there again. the sushi was good - but one of the only restaurants in the area that does not offer buy-one get-one free. all 4 dinners were less than acceptable. we all had leftovers for the dogs. dark meat chicken seamed low grade and looked more like mushrooms than chicken. one of our meals came out 7 minutes after the others were served. not at all worth the high cost!

simply the best sushi available in the triangle!. our group of four eats sushi weekly and we have tried every single sushi restaurant in the raleigh/cary area. you will not find a better option than yuri. the freshness of the fish and the imagination of the rolls cannot be topped at any price level in this area. the staff is friendly and remembers you. the service can be a tad slow if they're overwhelmed, but it is always worth any wait. i can't overstate just how much better this place is than any sushi restaurant in the triangle.
