i went last night for dinner after a quick search for some authentic asianfoodaround the place and read about this hit spot in khadki. easily traceable, great spot, fab n clean interiors, loved the cheerful n friendly atmosphere of the resto with both friend groups n big families as well as couples visiting. the rule of removing shoes outside ia so great..it didn't feel awkward or dirty at all even in the bathroom area to be barefoot (socks foot in my case). the service is 15-20mins, so if you are waiting please order in advance. coming to the food:
ordered the chicken n pork momos (half n half) costed 250 bucks. they were juicy n huge n tender n perfect. loved it!!!! a meal in itself. the sweet tamarind-ish chutney was a slight mismatch..but the momos were so good it didn't need a chutney.
i had ordered a iced coffee to start with, and after the tiring day i had gone through it was perfect. none of those awful sugar loaded cold coffee, but a genuine condensed milk n good espresso blend with mildly sweet. just how iced coffee are mwant to be. i think it was 150bucks!
next was pad thai. ummm disaster!!! it was wettish n awfully sweet. costed me 400 bucks, presented beautifully..but it had nothing of pad thai texture flavour. it's my favourite thai dish and it was so difficult to eat, that after half the plate i had to let it go (despise wasting food, but it was unpalatable). the veggies had become soggy, the sweet spot was a torture, the chicken pieces were hard to find, couldn't taste any egg and worst it wasn't a stir-fry like...it had liquid-y/curry-ish texture. spoilt the meal experience.
next was a lemongrass rice pudding, a decent dessert less sweet than the pad thai 😁 frankly it was a kheer with lemongrass punch to it.
overall a questionable experience, but the staff was polite and helpful in its suggestions. i may go back for the dumplings n a dish that i couldn't order but smelled n looked great on another table.
given the limited menu, would strongly suggest the restaurant management to fix the main course flavours.

prasad, apparently 'the manager' of this place has a terrible attitude. firstly, he screwed up our order. we had ordered chicken dumplings and we got pork ones. this was still understandable as there was rush. when we addressed the problem to prasad he went ahead and started banging plates and cutlery while drawing other customers' attention. thefoodwas decent i suppose but the entire experience was ruined by this prasad.

excellent food! the pork dumplings were a bit too salty for my liking. but thefoodin general was tasty and well prepared. summer roles were good too. the chocolate tart was adissapointment. that is the only preparation i would recommend not to have.
the one aspect on which they have to work on is the service. they seemed to be under-staffed. to get the attention of the server/waiter was a task in itself. the service took too long. even to serve drinks, they took a lot of time. this is the reason why they get 3/5.

@yeti and the monk

after hearing and reading a lot about this place for about a year or so finally we decided to visit this place. i must say the place is gem of its kind. we were lucky enough to get a seat as soon as we reach the restaurant.

this was the first time i was trying a tibetan and south east asian restaurant. i was like how did i miss to visit this place for such a long time. thefoodtastes amazing and yumm. the quantity is good enough for two. if ur visiting for the first time the staff can suggest you a good dish as per your taste or your preference.

review: 5/5

food taste : 5/5
location and price: 5/5

food we ordered:

1. vietnamese iced coffee.

2. darjeeling steamed dumplings (veg)

3. darjeeling steamed dumplings. round ones (non-veg)

4. spicy thukpa

i will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

yeti and the monk unusual name?? yes i wasn’t very sure myself when i heard about this place from a friend. i thought of giving it a try with my hubby as it was my first attempt for north easternfoodexcept the momos that we all know but the momos or the dumplings as they call it here are something that i never had before especially the sauce that was accompanying the dumplings.chilly garlic chicken dumplings 5*. then i tried on their recommendation ema datshi and wai wai noodles which was another surprise as the flavours were so distinct and the presentation made it even a better experience. we wanted to try on their dessert menu as well but we were too full so we kept it for our next visit which will happen soon. small place but cozy environment, service was good as the chef himself was attending us so he explained the menu and the food. pricing worth for the new experience and certainly for the flavours. a must try for their authenticity and unique menu.
my order chilly garlic chicken dumplings - 200₹, wai wai chicken 215₹,ema datshi 250₹ a complete meal for two. good luck team yeti and the monk hope to see you soon. 👍🏻😊

#customerexperience #mustvisit #worthit

yeti and monk was on my bucket list for very long time but i never got a chance to actually go and visit the place as my friends don't prefer pork meat. somehow in december month i saw a post on peo and decided to visit the place.

i visited the place on friday evening, they've done some major changes in the interior and the restaurant looks more lively now. you won't feel dull or something while seating and hogging on your favourite food.

things we tried -

darjeeling steamed dumplings [ pork - 250/- ] = these juicy looking medium-sized dumplings comes in a medium thick coating and are packed with juicy minced pork meat which is again seasoned with in-house spices. the meat was super juicy and you get to have the flavorful broth in the inside which is the best thing i've ever had. last but not least the dip you get with the dumplings is something you won't find anywhere else. #musttry

vietnamese iced coffee [160/-]- one of the best vietnamese iced coffee i've had in a very long time. i had the vietnamese coffee at same place when the place was run by vietnamese people named as smiley house. this one is strong and i mean it. we had 2 drinks each and we couldn't sleep till 3 am. the coffee really tastes good and have balanced flavours which will make you have more.

spicy thukpa [pork 350/-] = then we had their famous spicy thukpa , which is more than enough for two people. it comes in a heavy huge bowl which is packed with lots of things. the broth is a real deal , the flavor profile of the broth is on another level which is then accompanied by pork meat and i will suggest you guys to go with pork meat only as its the right choice. definitely have it.

pork chops with rice [600-800 rs] - you don't get this dish on weekdays and you need to make prior bookings. luckily when we went they started the dish on friday as well so we get to try the legendary dish. the pork chops were cooked to perfection and when you try to take a bite the meat was literally falling apart from the bone. the meat was so juicy and flavorful that you just can't stop at once bite. the dish is so heavy that we had to take the parcel and after having it after 3 days the taste was still the same or i'll say it was enhanced. so you can imagine how perfect they've cooked and seasoned the meat. #musthave.

the prices are definitely not on the pocket-friendly side but if you really want to try the best asianfoodthen you must visit this place. i was shocked and blown away by thefoodand i think the amount we paid was totally worth it.

yeti and monk is the only place in pune that i found that even serves emma datshi(local bhutanese dish) and it’s on point.
their thukpa is among the best i’ve tried. i order the summer rolls and dumplings every time i visit too.
very nice people, authentic food. i’ve taken different groups of friends and family and everyone has loved thefoodto bits.
