trendy environment and fun service. went to yellow door bistro with my family for a special dinner.
service was excellent-staff were fun, knowledgable, professional. and went out of their way for us.
food was great. menu includes traditional choices and choices that i have never had before.
all around it was an amazing experience with great service, trendy environment and amazing food.

great food, and service. was especially impressed with the gnocchi.

overall good.. we started the meal with a couple salads. the heirloom carrot salad is a beautiful array of ribboned carrots as well as sous vide baby carrots that are briefly grilled for colour and a touch of caramelization. add to that a light frisee, some nice goat cheese, a citrus cardamom dressing and a roasted almond foam and you have a very fresh and wonderful start. the dungeoness crab salad was also very tasty, featuring flaky crab meat with tender butter lettuce, green apple and charred grapefruit. bringing everything together is a light and refreshing coconut citrus vinaigrette that brings a little southeast asian breath to the dish.

worth trying for good service. fresh and high quality sushi. delicious and authentic japanese dishes. extremely polite and respectful personnel. we set down and ordered an appetizer, which took 10 minutes for my salad and 25 minutes for my friends soup. i have loved everything that i've tried in this place. so, be confident with the menu and i'm sure you will have a great meal no matter what you order.

food....fantastic! service....amazing! overall experience...wonderful! we came to the yellow door for saturday brunch buffet and it did not disappoint. the spread was pretty decent, not your typical brunch buffet. my favourite things were the muffins, the parfait and the vegetarian benny. my only small complaints were there was no option of pancake/waffle/french toast and the classic eggs benny were soggy. all the juice, coffee and tea are free with the buffet and toast is brought to your table by request. my wife bypassed the buffet and ordered off the menu. the duck confit hash may just be the best breakfast dish i have ever tasted. i cannot wait to walk back through the yellow door.

extremely attentive service.  we tried the chef's choice three course meal, which turned out to be well worth the price - tasty and unique dishes. would definitely go back.

last week, i noticed on facebook that yellow door bistro was featuring a chef’s choice three course meal for $40.00, and a five course meal for $60.00.

we celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary at the yellow door last night and we were treated to great service by kaleigh. this young lady knows the menu inside and out and is so pleasant that i let her choose my entire meal, wow! i was not disappointed . we were treated to a glass of sparkling wine to start off our evening, very nice touch, followed by delicious and perfectly seared scallops that melted in my mouth, so many interesting flavours on that dish. main course was goat cheese gnocchi which was to die for, rich and creamy with a burst of brightness from the orange ginger sauce and tomatoes, a true party in your mouth!!! finished off my meal with the lemon curd tart mmmmm. kaleigh also chose a perfect pinot grigio to go with our meal that i will definitely be looking for again. our dining experience at the yellow door was exceptional and i cannot wait to go again. great service & wonderfully delicious food!!

just average. modern and chic, that was my first impression of ydb when i walked into the restaurant. service is great just as a fine dining restaurant should be. food? meh, very average. very bland. i don't think i will go back.

excellent food, great wine list and efficient service. this sums up my experience at yellow door. went here before the concert and had enough time at the end of my dinner to relax and have a scotch. great job yellow door

delicious!. wow! one of the best beef tartars i've ever had. as mark mcewan said on top chef canafa, you either have one bite, or you eat the whole thing. i ate the whole thing! it had a nice subtle heat to it and a beautiful texture. they also make a dynamite french 75!

went here for dinner with 4 other friends for dinner. the atmosphere and the aesthetics of the place is super cool. service was a good at the beginning but then they stopped visiting later on and we waited a while to get the bill. i had a pasta dish with sunchokes which was tasty. also got the rock crab risotto, honestly was not a big fan. the flavour was just fishy and the texture of the risotto wasn't very good. the portion size was also tiny. it is a pricier place, was expecting more for the price. overall it wasn't bad at all just not my favourite.

nice plating overall & surprisingly large portions. entrée flavours paired nicely, although they could’ve been more bold. neat decor & accommodating service. (4/5)

there’s an abundance of brunch places in calgary and yellow door bistro attracted my attention right away. located in the arts hotel it’s tucked away down a hall. you get free parking if you park in the lot and they’ll validate your receipt. the decor is super modern and clean. their brunch buffet is amazing bang for your buck.

at $24 a person it’s super reasonable considering all your options. they have a cheaper continental brunch but the regular one is much better. they have your classic brunch items like eggs benedict, bacon, hashbrowns, sausages and a whole lot more. they have a tiny area designated to desserts as well. overall the food quality was a 4/5 as the rotation of the food was decent but somethings like the already made eggs benedict suffered.

overall yellow door bistro is a nice place to grab a quick bite of brunch. i would be back for sure.

i had very high expectations entering the yellow door bistro. the decor and service was excellent and welcoming. i opted for the 24.00 buffet choice and unfortunately i was very disappointed. you would think a breakfast buffet would include a few different egg options, pancakes, a variety of fruit, toast or waffles right? the buffet had one tray of bland scrambled eggs and egg benedict, no toast, pancakes, or waffles. the fruit choice was only melon and honey dew. the oatmeal toppings at the buffet was very basic, yogurt and brown sugar. i would have rather opted for the 15.00 continental buffet or the traditional breakfast choice. before you choose the buffet, take a look around at the options before hand.

excellent brunch! everything was fresh and dishes were well executed. most important, good coffee. also very fairly priced and good service.
