if they didn't have the cars, i wouldn't go.... the only reason to go to xxx is to see the incredible array of cars on a saturday night. the cars are the real draw.

the food is mediocre to bad. the burgers are flat, greasy and flavorless. therootbeer is no better than what you could buy in a can at your local store. and, the prices are outrageous! spending almost $30 for two people is way too much.

they could really take some lessons from in 'n out or 5 guys on providing quality food and service.

(btw there is a 5 guys at the renton landing now. go there if you want a good burger.)

are you kidding?. my girlfriend brought me to the xxxrootbeer drive on may 16, 2009. she isn't a meat eater but they do have a garden burger she eats.

i ordered the chevelle burger for $8.99. what did i get? a burger that was flat as a pancake. i was embarrassed when i looked at the burger...or what was called a burger...the patty was appromimately 3/8th of an inch thick. and that may be being generous. the only thing i could taste was the lettuce and the sauce...no meat. the portion was a joke. i have never in my life...ever... been served a burger that flat.

for the life of me i can not imagine how the xxx rootbeer drive-in can claim they serve burgers. my girlfriend was pissed. and so was i. i couldn't looking at anyone serving this food in the eye as the shear rip-off of meat was rediculous. the fries were soaked in dirty oil and the taste was a greasy mess.

my mug of rootbeer was packed with ice. i never remember ever recieving a "frosty mug" of rootbeer with ice! a&w never served their rootbeer like this. the only reason why the mugs are packed with ice is because they want to give a patron al little as possible while maximizing their profit...and the same goes for the meat on the burgers.

i can say the service was promt. but the promptness is of little value when the food is an embarrassing portion.

burgers get a 2 out of 10 on this review. but don't let me convience you...go there yourself and experience the disapointment for yourselves. pathetic.

terrible food; terrible service; overpriced. i stopped in here with a friend after a hike at tiger mountain. we both arerootbeer fans, so we were excited to see the xxxrootbeer drive-in on the highway food sign. when we sat down to eat, the first thing i noticed was that everything on the menu was really expensive. we figured that the portions must be huge. long story short: the portions were not huge, the burgers were worse than mcdonald's, and therootbeer did not taste any better than barq's (could've been barq's even). i spent $20 for a terrible meal (cash only), had terrible service, and had an overall terrible experience. i would eat at any fast food restaurant over xxxrootbeer drive-in any day, and would save a lot of money as well.

absolutely awful burgers. not sure if it was mechanically separated beef, but it sure tasted like it. bad fries. shake was okay.rootbeer was good. one server was friendly, but our main one acted like she was irritated we were even there and gave us attitude the entire night. she also had only one other table, yet took 50 minutes to get our food. i had to track her down to get a bill... and then again to pay it. overpriced. atmosphere was... weird, but interesting. definitely unique.

if you're dying to see this place, just go for arootbeer float. don't subject yourself to the expensive, terrible food.

greatrootbeer.. coming here is both a gimmick and a blast from the past. they are very serious about their nostalgia that it plasters all the walls and the ceiling. nothing about this place is subdued, but that's how the people like it.
the service was friendly (though we were the first people in), and quick. upon realising that we were tourists, the person i assumed was the manager chatted us up, asking us where we had gone and talked about the history of the place.
as for the food, therootbeer lives up to the hype as a far different taste than a&w or barq's. far more caramel and tasting like a sarsaparilla, the aftertaste is distinct and satisfying. the burgers were also good, though i would have liked to have a bit more meat in them for the amount that they were charging.

good, but not great. therootbeer floats were good and very large (we ordered a small, but they were still huge) as were the fry's. the burgers left a lot to be desired though. the patties were thin, a bit over cooked, there was too much sauce and it costs $3 just to add cheese.

there are much better burgers out there and less expensive places to get them from.

popular place. very neat atmosphere in this place and i love that they are host to many car shows which is one of my hobbies. i like this place, with one exception. like many places that get very popular and successful they tend to get a little arrogant with their policies. this place is no exception, as they add many extra fees onto items to nickel and dime the customer. split charges for dinners, shakes, and even a charge for no ice. plus they don't take credit/debit cards. all of these things are luxuries that other eateries wouldn't be able to get away with. loved therootbeer float!

kind of a funky place. the burgers were super greasy and huge. a little pricey. fries androotbeer float was good. the milkshakes looked amazing. may come back if we are in the area but wouldn't make a special trip out here.

can't eat the good decor. am amazed that how many people thinks this place is below average. or, perhaps i shouldn't be.
their funky memorabilia is great. but the food is not good(less than average) and way too pricey. though, theirrootbeer and the shakes are good.
if it was not for the decor and the occasional car shows, i doubt that this place would even exist.

really, yourrootbeer float costs how much?. yes, it tastes good. but if you are going to pay that much for arootbeer float, you at least want it to come with a real spoon and not be a big mess of dripping ice cream all over the table. i recommend spending the same & buy a whole carton of ice cream and a 2-liter of soda at the store.

great way to end 2010. i went to xxx after a long day skiing on new years eve. it was kind of late and although the place was already technically suppose to be closed, they let us in. i ordered the traffic ticket burger and arootbeer. the burger was ginormous. the burger was bigger than my face and although i wouldn't consider it a burger, it was still a really good eat. the fries were nice and crispy, therootbeer was delicious, and the interior design made me feel like a tourist back to the olden times. it was an amazing experience thanks to the staff who were very nice. i would definitely come here again.

pretty cool atmosphere and fast service, but every time i go there, i remember how much of a rip off the prices are. if you get a regular sizerootbeer float, there's about a quarter scoop of ice cream and it's $6. a normal coke is $2 with no refills. most burgers are thin and not great. unfortunately i can't recommend this place.
