great food and atmosphere. had a great lunch here - excellent wine, bruschetta with goats cheese and fig, and roast potatoes to die for. had to sit outside as we had a dog and the very helpful waitress immediately turned the outdoor heating on for us as it was very cold and windy. will make this a regular lunch spot whenever we pass through bendigo.

lost it for me.... i've been a few times over the years, but the last three times i have been really disappointed. tapas quality and the quantity of the serve has dropped away. it's too hit and miss on the food. therefore...i have to give it away as a place to go. shame...such an awesome building & location.

a treat.... i'm a fan, but the bill adds up. nice place to treat yourself with friends though once in a while. tapas are delicious. great historic building in arts precinct.

excellent coffee. it's hard to get a good soy late' these days, although the wine bank was fantastic. thankyou to the young guy on wed morning 2/1/2013

if you're visiting bendigo do try a good wine and the cheese platter here. sit outside and bask in the sun - a lovely little place..

as soon as you walk in you feel special in this mid 1800's building, which has been lovingly and skilfully restored to (quite possibly) beyond it's former glory.

the fact that it has one of the best wine lists in australia and deliscious modern seasonal quisine is almost a bonus.

best savoured when not in a hurry, this bendigo icon is a must visit when in central victoria.

if you are feeling a little overwhelmed by the choice on offer, i've found the staff (despite reading some other user reviews) to be very pleasant and genuinely helpful.

i think sometimes you can get what you give with regard to friendliness.

this place is a credit to the owners and makes me proud to be from bendigo.

i am glad we ignored the poor reviews of this restaurant and gave it a go when we visited bendigo. we had such appositive experience - the food was delicious (some of us had tapas and some had mains - all wonderful), and the service was attentive and staff were happy for the four of us to split our bill. my workmate and i went back for breakfast in the morning - make sure you ask the them about the four of hearts stuck to the ceiling!

lovely building and friendly service, although the food is nothing special. terrible dinner music, triple j hottest 100 circa 1999! i had a reasonable chicken curry & my partner had the moroccan lamb, which was ok. hopefully they will tweak & improve things as there is plenty of potential here.

mediocre food, terrible service. me and 4 girlfriends were visiting bendigo for an exhibition at the gallery. only one of us had ever been to bendigo so we checked out some reviews online and wine bank looked good so i booked a table. i called to let them know we were running a little late which seemed fine. when we arrived our table still wasn’t cleaned or ready but we sat by the fire by the bar for 10 mins which was fine. our table was in a small side room and it felt like we were forgotten about a litte. we had to ask twice for the wine list and kept having to attract the attention of the waiting staff. when we ordered the waitress didn’t write down our order and got confused twice and had to keep repeating what we had all ordered, i asked if she should write it down and she snapped at me 'no i do not want to write it down'. we ordered main courses and some bread and oil to start. after 40 minutes the bread still hadnt arrived, when we asked if it was coming we were told there was a delay due to a table of 25 upstairs and that all our food would be coming at the same time and the delay with the bread was due to the bread being 'in the oven'. when the bread finally arrived with the main courses it wasn’t even warm and definitely not freshly made so not quite sure what they were doing to it all that time. main courses were agreeable but no one was wowed, the best dish seemed to be the chicken and vegetable soup with crusty bread my friend ordered. when we asked to order coffees at the end we were told there was a 20 minute delay as the large table upstairs had just ordered coffees. we left without coffee and definitely without leaving a tip. shame the service is sulky and inefficient as the building is beautiful. wont be going back.

went to wine bank 24th april 2012, had tapas and a nice red wine. nice atmosphere, food was really good too, worth a visit.

had dinner here for my birthday with a large group of friends. the staff were very attentive and the food was fantastic and reasonably priced. we got a private room upstairs and the building and interior were very pretty. my only criticism is that the food took 45 minutes to reach the table, although it was worth it when we finally got to eat.

a pleasant lunch.... popped in for lunch on a very quiet monday afternoon. friendly, attentive staff brought us high quality food (we tried the sausage rolls, prawns, green beans and bruschetta) and good cheer.

food was clean, well prepared and tasty. the bruschetta was absolutely piled with rocket and only a very measly amount of tomato and what looked like one bocconcini ball split across two portions, which was fine, but maybe a little skimpy.

we'd definitely go back, though, maybe for dinner next time.

the waiters are nice and they are very understanding should you be civil to them they are very polite only fault here are the chairs modern cushioned chairs are needed but no other faults.food that is cooked fresh when restaurant busy never takes 2 minutes anywhere all these people who complain i bet they can not cook and do not understand what's evolved!!!! :) dine here you will love it i'm sure.one of bendigos best.

you have to order the seafood nocki it's taste bud heaven almost best dish in bendigo bare none.the sweets are nice also and wine selections wonderful a must dine. my friends and i like it here

i went to wine bank on view over the weekend. they seemed to be understaffed as i felt like when i ordered a drink i was barked at by the bar person and they wanted to get rid of me as quick as possible. food was good. wine list was great but many of the wines were not in stock and the staff seemed to be lost when i asked for a suggestion on a wine which was close to what i wanted. if they want to be held in regard as a winebar that is professional then hire new staff and think about reorganizing. disappointed and won't return.

we loved it. fried gnocchi w/. moroccan fish stew, white anchovy salad and beetroot salad small plates all terrific. loved the old bank venue too, with fantastic courtyard. this place needs more publicity! lovely attentive waiters who could refrain a little from " no worries" when attending, but i'm too picky! they were great!

nice place with plenty of atmosphere.
