willie's restaurant and bar

i was getting on urbanspoon to write about my dinner experience last night, until the words horrible caught my eye. i've been coming to this place once every other week for about three years. the firsttimei came here was with my co workers and i ate a seafood potato, it was so delicious, i've been hooked ever since. lately i've been coming with my family in the evenings who all enjoy it. never once would i ever describe the food horrible! maybe sometimes the food takes a while but it's so worth it and i don't mind since they are making it all to order.
anyway, keep up the good work. we enjoyed our dinner tonight and looks like all the other 200+ likes and 25 reviews did as well.

yummy!. i dont do reviews but i just had the best seafood potato in town! i work around the area and im so glad to finally have a place that serves something i enjoy for a reasonable price!

the firsttimei ordered i did so via waitr. i ordered the crawfish avocado salad. guess what? when it was delivered it was missing crawfish. i called to inform and they apologized saying they bagged it up and forgot the crawfish container. they asked if i wanted to come and pick it up. um no. that’s why i ordered via waitr.

the secondtimei placed an order i asked for extra ranch and cheese on a burger in the comment section of the waitr app. they called me and told me it would be $0.50 for each of the extras. seriously? other restaurants have options set up correctly on waitr to charge you when you modify the order. get your online menu right.

finally, i call back to speak with the “manager” and i’m told they can not come to the phone because “we are in the middle of dinner rush”. you don’t think i know this? i just placed an order during your “dinner rush”.

done. i would highly recommend you save your time. overrated. horrible customer service.

so i went here for a birthday dinner, & i was impressed! the ambience is great, the staff was nice, & the waitress took great care of us, so we enjoyed ourselves while waiting for everyone to show up. then the appetizers came out and the crab dip over the house potato chips was delicious, & the sauce they use for the onion rings was unique & tasty. we ordered entrees & i chose the rooster because i love a good burger with interesting toppings. it came out and was served with chips, & my husband got coleslaw so i tried some of it, too. i wasn't impressed with the coleslaw- the sauce lacked any real flavor- but the chips were good, if a little over salted. the burger was disappointingly overcooked & dry in spite of there being avocado and an egg on it! oh well, i thought, i must've just picked the wrong thing from their menu & i'll try again nexttimewith the red fish or the crab legs like my friend got. they really enjoyed their meal. then i got home and went to bed. a couple of hours later, i woke up and had to run to the bathroom to throw up & my body's been purging itself of everything in it all night. i can't 100% verify that it was willie's, but i don't have any other explanation. i won't be back to try any other entrees- not after the consequences of last night.

firsttimehere at willies and firsttimereviewing a restaurant. me and my boyfriend came to eat about 6:30ish. i ordered the seafood stuffed potato and my boyfriend got the citrus salmon dish. we both really enjoyed our selections however the salmon was sent back to be cooked a little longer. he did ask the waitress porche to ask the cook to have it done medium well to begin with. she was sweet, very attentive and knew about the dishes we asked about when making our choice. our food came out in a prompt manner and in the right order. salad first then the entree. overall i am satisfied and we will most likely be coming back!

we didn't receive a great experience!! we were seated immediately but after ordering our drinks, we waited a longtimeto order our food. we finally place our order & i'm told that the entire section of the menu called the "smokehouse" section will not available until next week!! that would have been nice to hear before i decided i wanted the ribs. so now i'm scrambling to pick another item as my husband places his. i order pasta and was told that it comes with a salad. at one point, i look to my husband & question him about my salad. the food finally comes out and i'm given my salad at the sametimeas my pasta!! terrible timing. the food overall was good and seasoned perfectly. although i asked for extra dressing when i ordered my pasta, it never came and i had to ask the waitress for it again!! our waitress rarely came to check on us and i never received a refill for my iced tea.

it was our firsttimehere tonight and def will not be the last! food was amazing, so glad to have found a new favorite :-)

a hole-in-the-wall place with surprisingly good food. the crawfish étouffée was rich, creamy and had a nice kick. the crawfish were cooked perfectly. the shrimp and grits were also excellent. the place is small and has a quaint, neighborhood feel. there is an area for the kids to write on the walls and floor with chalk. we will definitely be back nexttimewe are in baton rouge!

firsttimetoday with my dad and it was pretty good. the breading on this fish is a little different but ok. the cheese logs are big and pretty good as well. will be back when i'm near the area

well i thinks it's wonderful! always know it's gonna be a greattimewhen that guy with the black hat working...he should be named top chef of the world! that girly fellow and the one who doesn't stop talking aren't so bad themselves! ok ok enough about the amazing kitchen staff...this place is quick, delicious, super friendly (and i'm not just saying that because i feel sorry for the mildly retarded girl with the heavy hick accent) the front house does amazing jobs! you haven't lived until you have had some willies in your mouth!!!
