unfortunately bad service. might as well go to blue mountain or devil's backbone.. we started going towildwolf when it opened and recommended it to our friends, but the most recent will be our last. we will also let friends who come to travel the brew ridge know to forgo getting food there. we were seated promptly outside, which was great, since we had our dog with us. we ordered appetizers and lunch at 12:00. between 12:00 and 1:45, we sat pretty darn hungry. no appetizers. the manager came out early on and spoke with customers, not telling us that a 45 party had come in before us and our food would not arrive until much later. instead, he spoke to two guys near us about how he hoped ww would go national and about how during the week it can be slow, but weekends had a steady stream of customers. he went inside and did not come back. perhaps he heard not only my party, but the tables all around us, complaining. i heard them, at least. finally, we got our food at 1:45. everything was lukewarm at best. our lunch came out two minutes after our appetizers, which means it defeated the purpose of ordering appetizers and our lunch was cold, not even a little bit warm, like our fries and chicken tenders.
at 1:24, our waitress finally told us about the wait and why.
if you want to compete with the other breweries in terms of serving food, then don't allow your busiest days to be your worst in terms of service. why risk coming back for a two hour wait for food when blue mountain regularly has that many people and can handle it? it is not for the lukewarm food, that is for sure. perhaps comping something might have been worthwhile, but, alas, that was not even done.
this place is a hike from charlottesville. if you are making the trek, do not waste your time. there are tons of great restaurants in the area that don't have these problems. and, unfortunately, their beer is not nearly as innovative or satisfying as it used to be. we were disappointed.
