a refreshing concept. if anyone is looking to cheat on their usual brunch spot, i highly recommend whiskey cake. seriously amazing from the cucumber water, to the build-your-own bloody mary bar, to the gourmet deviled eggs, to pulled pork egg's benedict, to their signature whiskey cake! and our server was pretty snazzy, too! totally in love with their organic on-site garden and local, fresh produce for sale!

decent food, horrible service!. was there for lunch, and despite an underwhelming lunch crown, our waiter was nearly invisible the entire meal. took 20 minutes to bring drinks, and when other members of our table ordered a second cocktail, he failed to ask the others if they would like a second as well. we had to basically each flag him down individually. while our waiter was extremely inattentive, we often observed huge groups of servers standing around together, chatting. it was very off-putting to see so many servers with so little to do, while our server seem to be so wrapped up in something that he could hardly be bothered to come by our table at all. he wasn't rude when he came by, but he certainly wasn't overly friendly or helpful either. the menu was interesting and the food was pretty decent. however i would be very hesitant to go back because of the awful service. if i were in any sort of hurry, i would have been livid.

to whom it may concern. a commonly called "rocks charge" is applied at every restaraunt. it's a. either already included in the accumulated liquor cost, or b. not labeled on the bill. definition of said rocks charge is 1/2 ounce more of liquor.

i am really surprised at the amount of people who clicked 'do not like' for this restaurant. my husband and i were visiting for a family funeral from vermont and we were excited to get out of the depression and try some good food. we went during the week and were sat in a booth. even though the area was dark our waitress offered her flashlight and we made a good joke about us being old. our waitress helped excellently in picking out a bottle of wine and we enjoyed the whole thing! we had the fried green tomatoes and onion dip and finished off with salmon and whiskey cake. the vinaigrette in the mixed seasonal vegetables is something ill be craving for a while. lorrianne was very patient with us and answered our questions informatively and without the attitude you get from some places. i am just so surprised at the amount of negativity on urbanspoon! this joint deserves a 100%! please come to vermont, we'd welcome you greatly!!

loved it. i am a little surprised by the negative tone of these reviews. i visited whiskey cake for brunch saturday morning and had a pleasant experience. i would echo that the price points are on the high end. i looked at the menu online and expected as much. (side note: how much do people expect to pay for a farm-to-table dining experience?)

to address the reviewer who stated the food is per-assembled - i.e. prepared off-site. i had not thought of that when i was there but now that you mention it, i wonder if that is the case. i'm curious.

i love the interior and want to go back. i agree with the reviewer who warned about the patio. people bring kids and yes it's annoying. i wish there was another way. elemental coffee so good.

our waitress was on her best game and service was top-notch. it was an overall a positive experience. just don't expect to leave for under 50.

disappointed. the concept is very cool. the food is overpriced and the drink and food menu is very limited. the entrees do not come with sides, those cost extra. the best advice i could give is to split the three sliders as an appetizer and then get a salad. the sliders are really a meal in themselves and are probably the cheapest item on the menu. the burger is decent but overpriced. the salmon is one of their best menu items but the portion is very small for the price.

not impressed. chose this place for brunch on sunday with a few friends. we loved the atmosphere going in, but the subpar service we received made this brunch a nightmare. we went to the hostess stand and were told to seat ourselves and that they would bring our menus over. 10 minutes later we did not have menus nor did we have any idea who our server was. my friend ordered a diet coke - tasted disgusting, they said they use local soda syrup but that was never told to her and it tasted flat and had a bad aftertaste. we ordered the biscuits & gravy as an appetizer and it was decent - just an awkward thing to share as an appetizer. the problem? the service was awful! our server was slow, not attentive, and would say he would come back and it would take him 5-10 minutes to take him back. this brunch lasted 2 hours - with no wait to be seated. there were 2 tables around us who ordered food after & were served their food first. i had the b.e.l.t. and it was good, but i was getting full and wanted to take the rest home with me. i asked the server for a box and he just took my plate (i wasn't done eating & the other 3 people were still eating as well). i figured i would just eat out of my to go box once he brought it back. the problem? he threw some of food away! all that was in the box was only a half sandwich - not the other part, or any of chips that were on the plate. at this point i wanted to speak to a manager. asked a hostess to send one over (because the server was no where to be found) 10 minutes later? no manager. we had to ask another server to send one over. when she got to the table she seemed uninterested and stated "i wish you would have told me sooner" she did offer to make me another sandwich but i told her i didn't want to wait. she did adjust the bill, but it didn't make up for the experience. i had such high hopes for this place but the service i received was awful. i will not be going back. there are plenty of local - oklahoma based companies (not texas based) who value their customers and serve superior food.

in the end this place is a more modern version of cracker barrel & i know i would have enjoyed cracker barrel more...

overpriced! we went there for sunday brunch with our 2 children and our bill was $117. i had the burger which was decent but very average. the biscuits were dry and my son wouldn't eat the grilled cheese. it's a great concept for a restaurant but poorly executed. we looked in at the kitchen and everything appeared pre-made and assembled to order. not bad but definitely not worth the price.

great food!! one complaint.... just had dinner here last night for the first time. party of six w/kids. the service was excellent! we had a variety of food choices. the salmon was fabulous! sandwiches and burgers... very good as well. the deviled eggs with salmon was delightful. the onion dip w/kettle chips... very tasty!
one complaint...although this is stated on the menu.
i don't like the $2 up charge added to your drink for rocks/neat. the drinks are excellent but a bit pricey. just sayin'..i'm already paying $17 dollars for a glass of oban scotch (elsewhere around 14) and you add $2 for a large cube of ice! will we be back...yeppers!!

highly recommend. i think whiskey cake is a fantastic addition to the okc restaurant scene. people call it a chain but i appreciate the company's efforts to support local businesses and farmers -- it stimulates the economy and ensures that the food i'm eating is fresh. i'm all for that. plus, the cinnamon suckers and salt water taffy they give away that are made in chickasha, ok are my favorite post-meal treat from any restaurant.

i've eaten there numerous times and tried several different dishes. my faves from the brunch menu are the chicken and waffles -- with house-cured bacon cooked right into the waffle! eggs benedict, and the jalapeno cheddar biscuits with sausage gravy. the build-your-own-bloody-marry bar is fantastic too and i enjoyed the bubbles and berries cocktail.

as for lunch and dinner, i like to order the 3 little pigs appetizer as an entree with a side of the homemade mac and cheese. other favorites include the omg burger (knife and fork required), the lobster roll, the bbq bahn mi sandwich, and of course, the farm bird. the whiskey cake and fried green tomatoes are a must.

wc has become my okc go-to place to dine out with friends for the social atmosphere and extensive drink selection. highly recommend.

this is a wonderful addition to our city's eating establishments!. i loved this place! great concept, great atmosphere, awesome food, and the wait staff was top notch. if you've never been there they will gladly walk you through the menu, make suggestions, and answer any questions you might have. i will definitely go back. oh, and the whiskey cake itself is a must try!!!

worst service ever gag me please. if you ever go and are misfortunate enough to have a server (i use the term loosely) named bailey request a change of section immediately. shes incredibly rude, has no personality and suggested horrible menu choices. overall just so lack luster my experience was awful in no small part to poor service.

i like it.... went to whiskey cake last night for dinner. i think their servers are a little on the relaxed side and should have better table side manors, but my dinner and drink was excellent. i started with the tracy's garden. it was a gin and cucumber drink that was outstanding. i then had the crispy chicken salad. the chicken was delicious. it was so tender, and the batter was excellent. it was on a bed of spinach with a buttermilk dressing that was also incredible. i also enjoyed the atmosphere.

side note- it is custom to up charge a drink when someone orders it neat or on the rocks. it actually states that they do this on the menu, i checked because i noticed people wrote negative views about this previously. so they aren't being "sneaky".
