great new place!. took an out of town visitor out this morning for breakfast who wanted "something i can only get in atlanta" and hit a home run withwestegg. been a while since i'd been here... in that time they've moved and, appears to me, to have added stuff to the menu.

i had the peachtree plate (2 eggs, brown sugar bacon, pimento cheese grits, fried green tomatoes, and a biscuit). everything was very tasty with the grits and the bacon both being out of this world full of flavor. my guest had one of the egg dishes with the garlic grits that he said were great. all in all, with the big bright new space (that still seems a little cozy and industrial) and the nice folks, i think the move has worked out very well. will have to go back some evening because it appears they're now serving dinner.

update 03/2011: still really like the food here, but mornings like today with just amazingly bad service make this place a little hit or miss lately. like i said, good food, but when you have to almost beg for coffee refills, get up to get silverware yourself, and generally have to work for everything it's difficult to have a nice relaxing breakfast reading the newspaper. when you have a good server, this place is great, when you don't... not so much.

great hip indy breakfast/brunch !. they now have parking in back! that makes this place a lot easier during the weekend rush.

did the black bean cakes & eggs this morning (two eggs, chipotle salsa, sour cream on spicy bean cakes with roasted garlic grits). eggs over medium and done perfectly, nice spice level to the bean cakes, big garlic flavor for the creamy (but not too creamy) grits. if i had to find something that i'd do different with this dish, it'd be to ask for extra salsa. unfortunately, it was so overpowered by the other flavors (and i'm not saying that in a bad way... this is a dish with big flavors) that i couldn't really find any chipotle taste...

the space is fun and full of west-downtown loft dwellers and entrepreneurs, and the service is friendly and unrushed. simply a fun spot for a great breakfast from a local business.

i drove thirty minutes to get here through the awfulwestside traffic to get here. it was worth it. i had to park in the parking garage and that was a little weird but it's in a very busy area of atlanta. went here and i loved the food. keep in mind i had a six week old baby in here for breakfast with me alone. if you do not like noise this place is not for you. so when she screamed it didn't make much of a difference. everything echoes and the tables are very close together. i think it is worth it. i wish i had discovered a place like this in college. it's a young hip place where young professionals and older professional like to have brunch or grab a coffee. has a cool laid back but upbeat vibe. it is very inviting. it can get crowded. i will definitely return on my way back to florida in a few weeks.

read the reviews aboutwestegg cafe and i was not disappointed. it was delicious and the portions were the perfect size. i had a pimento cheese, bacon, tomato jam burger. it was amazing. the soup was loaded potato soup that was to die for and the potatoes were also delicious.

“bucket list” dish: fried egg sandwich price for 1: $8.64 (large enough to be shared) bucket list worth y? : yes what could i say about thewestegg cafe? there is a lot but i will keep my notes brief-ish...west egg is a restaurant. i was kind of expecting a dive/dash eatery. there is a nook to your immediate left when you walk in. something like you would see at a starbucks. there was also a photo booth which i thought was way cool. i guess i can’t really say anything bad about the time it took to make the sandwich since it is a restaurant. it was very fast service...my food was given to me by the cook. a 60 plus sprite, white haired woman with a new york accent. she said “you stephen” to which i replied “yea…”, “you behaving out here”, “yes ma’am…”, well here’s you food go on get out-a-here”. i loved it!

this is my second time atwestegg cafe and i am never disappointed. parking on the street is very limited, but there is a parking garage located on the back side of the cafe. come prepared there will be a 15 - 20 minute wait before you are seated. that just tells you how great this spot is. the cafe is very laid back and has a friendly vibe. your food is served relatively fast after you order. i had the pimento grits, scrabbled eggs, turkey sausage on an open faced biscuit with gravy on top. if your like me, i can eat breakfast anytime of the day that is whywestegg cafe is so great, breakfast is served all day!! .ig-b- { display: inline-block; } .ig-b- img { visibility: hidden; } .ig-b-:hover { background-position: 0 -60px; } .ig-b-:active { background-position: 0 -120px; } .ig-b-16 { width: 16px; height: 16px; background: url(//badges.instagram.com/static/images/ig-badge-sprite-16.png) no-repeat 0 0; } @media only screen and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 2), only s

worth the wait. after reading positive reviews, my girlfriend and i decided to givewestegg a try. we had to wait about 30 minutes but i'm glad we did! the place is very cool and eclectic. it looks like they ransacked an old elementary school. i ordered the georgia benedict with a side of waffles and my gf ordered the peachtree plate. the food was spectacular and the service was very friendly. the butter for the waffles was like crack! i would spread that on everything. bacon lovers will not be disappointed. the bacon taste as if the pig ate nothing but sugar cubes. sooooo good!!! i will definitely be back next time i am in town.

big a was stopped in her tracks when she caught eye of the luscious red-velvet cupcakes atwestegg café. shocking. she also enjoyed watching their pastry chef, chris marconi, “trick out treats” just in time for halloween.

...i've had my eye out on this popular atlanta establishment, westegg cafe, for quite some time now. with all the rave reviews i've read and heard through word-of-mouth, i figured it was finally my turn to give it a test run. before i get started, i should mention that the name of this place originated from one of my all-time favorite books, the great gatsby by f. scott

4 stars.westegg has made itself into one of the top brunch places in atlanta. a few years back it moved to a new and larger location on the westside down howell mill which we are so grateful for because nowwestegg can be featured in my blog- atlanta coffee scene! the larger location allows it to double as a restaurant and a cafe, so you have options, and good ones i must say. the menu here features an interesting mix of brunch food with a southern spin--plenty of pimiento cheese, hot sauce, and coca-cola to go around. the coffee is superb and the baked goods are made fresh on the spot.

atmosphere- it's similar to highland bakery in the post-modern hipster way. the high, unfinished ceilings and concrete floors lend an open and industrial feel to the place, yet the space is perfectly designed so that you don't feel exposed. it remains cozy thanks to the comfortable seating, this massive curtain that sections off the restaurant from the cafe area, and the expertly chosen lighting. seating options are plentiful, so determine your reason for dining before entering. are you there to study? sit inside at the shared table in the work nook, complete with a pencil sharpener andwestegg pencils. brunch- inside the main dining area or outside on the patio. libations? take a seat at the bar and try out one of those cocktails that have caught my eye, or get a draft beer. or maybe you are there for your morning cup of coffee. well it's perfect for that too. as you can see, its hard to go wrong here.westegg is open early and stays open until 10pm.

they don’t use fancy ingredients and there’s no three star chef in the back using high-end techniques. it’s just quality ingredients, cooked exactly right with no funny business. what more could you ask for? this article doesn’t do it justice, so when you go to atlanta, just do me a favor and get yourself a biscuit at thewestegg cafe.

as an alternative to the brunch hotspots on the east side of midtown, westegg delivers a southern homestyle theme to its dishes, with out of this world biscuits and turkey gravy, a ham & brie panini which reminds you why that’s one of the best cheeses around, and a brunswick stew worth licking the bowl for. giant cups of

brunch, as you may have surmised, has become one of our favorite meals andwestegg café does brunch right! these omelet were cooked to perfection, the ingredients were fresh and the presentation was very good. melanie sais the grits reminded her of the creamy dreamy grits from flying biscuit café . my skillet potatoes were like none other! it was a leap of faith considering the potatoes the week prior at ria's bluebird , but the potatoes were rich with flavor and oh so delicious! one of the parts i hate about eating out is when the check is presented. yes, dear readers, all of this comes from the pocket of yours truly. like most of us these days, i love it when i see a really good value andwestegg café is one of those places! we both think you'll love so try it! guten appetit! scan this qr code with your phone to load into your gps! need a qr reader? go to http://getqrreader.com on your phone bookmark on delicious digg this post
