enjoy moules-frites from the people that invented it, or go one step further with the tower of seafood called waterzooi, the namesake of thislongisland establishment. an excellent list of beers from belgium make the bar here destination worthy, and possibly a brussels-style waffle on the weekend during brunch.

place category:longisland, new york restaurants, french, and garden cityplace tags: belgian restaurant, european restaurant, and mussels. located in the heart of garden city, waterzooi belgian bistro and oyster bar has served over 2.5 million pounds of mussels to date. waterzooi also has an extensive beer list, which is a beer lover’s heaven. i’ve been visiting waterzooi for years and the food has remained amazing the ambiance is casual yet lively, which tends to attract a younger, yet mature crowd. overall, this is definetly one of the top 10 restaurants to visit in nassau county,longisland.

we have had many times lunch and dinner at this restaurant for mainly the mussels and frites which come in massive pots. also the selection of belgium beer is extensive with unbelievable imports that you don’t find in many pubs. it is a lively atmosphere which can be noisy with the after work with a young energetic crowd. outdoor seating can be great place to sit if you want to remove yourself from the noisy inside bar and dining room. my favorite place for moules on thelongisland and truffle fries.

mussels and beer :) one oflongislands best restaurants....i recommend this place to everybody. i brought my best friend from california to this place. we ate and drank for hours! he tells people visiting ny from ca that they gotta come here. nuff said!
