local historical gem! it is certainly an old pharmacy connected with a diner/ mom and pop style. this is where all the great horse history has went down over the years. has plenty ofderbyhistory as well- featured disney movie secretariat. highly recommend the breakfast or a good burger! stop in before you hit the track!

while at first glance the building may not seem enticing on the outside, it is the perfect fit for a racetrack pharmacy diner that has been feeding the appetites of horsemen and women for over ninety years. with almost every inch of wall space lined with kentuckyderbymemorabilia, wagner's is a must do stop for anyone interested in churchill downs history.

awesome place louisville legend. great place - the omelettes are amazing - they have been featured on bobby flay throwdown for them.. also have great chili andderbysandwich. place has been there forever and i think the employees have too. family feel. lots ofderbynostalgia on wall. at any time you can see trainers, jockeys, owners eating there, dont even try to goderbyweekend. love this place...

friday special (fried fish). i have been to wagner's many times over the past few years, but usually go on fridays because of their fried cod fillet sandwich lunch special served with a choice of two sides. once i had their 3 dollar burgers (no thrills) and was totally satisfied. the sandwich itself comes with 2 fillets and and is perfect size. you pick the bread for the sandwich. the whole meal costs no more than $8 and is perfectly portioned. wagner's is an authentic kentucky diner where pictures ofderbyhorses adorn the walls and round spinning stools line the diner bar. it is also a pharmacy which includes bourbon, vodka, and whiskey by the pint. a one-of-a-kind dive that no one ever talks about. if you're in town for thederbyor want to eat traditional southern food (fried chicken, or good burgers), stop into this friendly and tasteful bizarre.
